1 Befre using McAllister Payment Slutins (MPS) as yur pint-f-sale and/r integrated credit card prcess slutin, the McAllister Payment Slutins PA- DSS Implementatin Guide must be reviewed in its entirety. PROCESSING THROUGH MPS and AVIMARK The first step which must be taken in rder t prcess a credit card thrugh MPS is that the user must be lgged int AVImark. Due t security requirements and the need t always recrd the user wh is prcessing credit cards, MPS will nt allw credit card transactins t be prcessed withut being lgged int AVImark. Attempting t prcess a credit card withut being lgged int AVImark will generate a message indicating that MPS is unable t be used if n ne is currently lgged in t AVImark. When a credit card transactin has been selected in AVImark and yu are utilizing the Magtek card swipe, clicking DONE n the transactin will prmpt a MPS windw asking fr the card t be swiped. If yu are utilizing a Verifne MX850 and are psting a transactin t an existing invice, clicking DONE n the transactin will prmpt the client t cnfirm the invice ttal. 1 McAllister Payment Slutins Inc. is a registered ISO/MSP with First Natinal Bank f Omaha

2 Cnfirming the ttal will then allw the client t select whether they wuld like t prcess their card as a Debit r a Credit. Selecting the desired payment type will then prmpt the client t swipe their card. Selecting a payment type f credit and swiping the card will display a signing area n the device allwing the client t sign fr the card authrizatin. Saving this signature will cmplete the prcessing f the transactin. Selecting a payment type f debit and swiping the card will allw the client t enter their PIN t authrize the transactin. NOTE: It is critical that the card NOT be swiped befre the MPS Swipe Card windw is displayed. If yu are using a Tpaz Signature capture device t capture digital authrizatin signatures frm yur clients, swiping the card using a Magtek card swipe will immediately display a blank windw indicating that the prcessing f the card is waiting fr the client s signature. 2 McAllister Payment Slutins Inc. is a registered ISO/MSP with First Natinal Bank f Omaha

3 Once the signature is captured and saved, the prcessing will cmplete. T view a signature accepted fr a credit card transactin, duble-click n the transactin within the client s accunting and select the Signature buttn. Selecting this buttn will display the signature riginally saved t this transactin. If an invice with a client s signature is needed fr verificatin f a dispute at a later date, reprinting the riginal invice will allw the riginal, saved signature t print n the invice. If a card is nt available t be swiped r if the magnet-strip cannt be read, the card number can be hand-keyed using the Hand Key buttn n the Swipe Card windw. Selecting this buttn will display a field fr the card number, expiratin date, CVV, and address verificatin infrmatin f the billing address and billing zip. 4 Selecting and prcessing a Debit transactin, using a Verifne PIN pad 1000SE, will prmpt the MPS Swipe Card windw just as credit card transactins. Swiping the card will cause AVImark and the PIN Pad t prmpt the user fr their PIN t be entered. Entering the PIN will allw the prcessing t cmplete. Debit transactins will nt display a hand-key ptin since debits transactins require a card and card hlder t be present. If a credit card transactin was prcessing incrrectly with a wrng amunt r t an incrrect client, this transactin can be vided IF it is vided n the same day that it was riginally prcessed. T vid an incrrect credit card transactin, select the transactin within the client s accunting and Right-click Credit Card Vid. This functin will remve the transactin frm yur batch as well as remve it frm the client s AVImark accunting. Since debit transactins autmatically debit a specified amunt frm the client s bank accunt, these transactins cannt be vided frm an pen batch. Incrrect Debit transactins will require a new transactin t be created with a negative amunt as well as be prcessed as a Visa r MasterCard rather then a Debit. 4 McAllister Payment Slutins Inc. is a registered ISO/MSP with First Natinal Bank f Omaha

5 If the prcessing date f an invalid transactin has passed, the transactin will nt be able t be vided, but will require a credit t be prcessed. Prcessing a credit within AVImark will require the card r the card number t be present, and will allw the AVImark accunt t als be credited the apprpriate amunt. Fr infrmatin prcessing a credit withut a card r utside f AVImark, please cntact ur Technical Supprt at ext Remving a credit card transactin frm a client s AVImark accunting will nt autmatically remve that transactin frm the pen batch and/r prevent the client s card frm being charged. A prmpt is available which can display whenever a prcessed credit card transactin is being remved frm a client s accunting asking if the transactin shuld als be vided frm the pen batch. This prmpt, Client s credit card has been charged. Vid credit card transactin? can be set within the Optins Maintenance area. The ability t have MPS detect the type f card that is being swiped r hand-keyed and aut-crrect the selected card type in AVImark is available thrugh the MPS ptin On Accunt Type mismatch. Setting this ptin t SHOW MESSAGE will display a prmpt anytime a swiped/hand-keyed credit card des nt match the card type selected in AVImark. Selecting YES t the displayed message will aut-crrect the AVImark card type t match the swiped/hand-keyed card. If using the AVImark site feature with unique MPS merchant accunts fr each site, lgging int AVImark under the crrect site will allw all transactins prcessed under that lgin t be applied t the crrect MPS merchant accunt. Clsing MPS batches can be accmplished either autmatically r manually. Autmatic batching is accmplished at 12-midnight Muntain Time withut any user interactin. AVImark will nt be required t be running fr the autmatic batching. Manual batching is accmplished by selecting the AVImark Utilities MPS MPS Batch. 6 Selecting YES t this batch cnfirmatin will clse the batch and prvide an pprtunity t print a Batch Reprt. Viewing prcessed transactins in real-time is available thrugh ur Virtual Terminal. Accessing the AVImark Utilities MPS MPS Virtual Terminal will display the custmer lgin screen fr the Virtual Terminal. Entering yur clinic s Merchant ID and passwrd will prvide access t all prcessed transactins. Fr mre infrmatin n the MPS Virtual Terminal, please cntact ur Technical Supprt at ext Payment Accunts, stred credit card infrmatin stred at ur ff-site PCI-DSS cmpliant server, can be created frm the AVImark CID and can be used fr n-the-fly transactins r recurring payments. Befre Payment Accunts can be created, this feature will first need t be activated in tw areas: NOTE: This feature in nt active by default due t additinal mnthly fees being assciated. Fr infrmatin n the fees assciated with string credit cards thrugh the PASS feature, cntact yur MPS sales representative. Within AVImark, select the Advanced Optins buttn, and search fr Payment Accunt. This will display the ptin Enable Payment Accunts which will need t be set t TRUE. 7 Creating Payment Accunts is accmplished by Rightclicking Payment Accunt within the Client area f the CID. Frm within the Payment Accunts windw, Right-Click New will display the MPS Swipe Card windw. The credit card yu wish t stre can be swiped r hand-keyed. A very limited amunt f infrmatin is stred and displayed within AVImark. 8 An unlimited number f credit cards can be stred fr a single client. As with prcessing a nrmal credit card transactin, the creatin f Payment Accunts will be unavailable if n ne is currently lgged int AVImark. Until a user is lgged int AVImark, the Right-click Payment Accunt ptin will be inactive. A Payment Accunt can be used fr n-the-fly transactins by entering the desired transactin amunt and selecting Stred Card as the transactin type. 9 Recurring Payments, scheduled payments made t an accunt, can be created t autmatically prcess n a set schedule using a Payment Accunt created fr a client. Creating Recurring Payments is accmplished by Rightclicking Recurring Payments within the Client area f the CID. Frm within the Recurring Payments windw, Right- Click New will display the New Recurring Payment allwing the user t specify the Amunt, Start Date, Number f Payments, Term (Daily, Weekly, Bi Weekly, Mnthly, Semi Annual, Yearly), and Payment Accunt fr the client s recurring payment. All Recurring Payments will be prcessed when AVImark is first pened n the apprpriate date a payment is t be made. Once all Recurring Payments have been prcessed, a Successful Recurring Payment Reprt will be prmpted t be printed by the user. As with prcessing a nrmal credit card transactin, the creatin f Recurring Payments will be unavailable if n ne is currently lgged int AVImark. 10 Because the strage and usage f Payments Accunts will have an assciated cst fr the clinic, ptinal surcharges are available t assist with regaining sme f this cst frm the client. The Advanced Optin Charge Handling Fee fr creating new Payment Accunts allws the clinic t charge a set dllar amunt each time a Payment Accunt is created. With each new Payment Accunt, this handling fee will be added t the client s accunting and will be added t the next invice created fr that client. T set this handling fee, search fr Handling Fee within the Advanced Optins. The Advanced Optin Charge Service Charge n Payment Accunt Payments allws the clinic t charge a percentage f the payment amunt t a client fr each transactin that is created using a Payment Accunt. Fr each transactin created using a Payment Accunt, this service charge will be applied t the amunt f the payment and will be added t the client s invice/accunting as a separate line item charge. T set this service charge, search fr Service Charge within the Advanced Optins. The Advanced Optin Charge Handling Fee r Service Charge allws the clinic t chse t charge either a set dllar amunt (handling fee) r a percentage f a payment amunt (service charge) t a client fr each Recurring Payment that is prcessed fr that client. Fr each Recurring Payment that is prcessed, ne f these surcharges can be added t the client s accunting and added t the next invice created fr that client.
