59 I am passionate about helping people improve their lives by developing critical thinking and communication skills. I have taught off and on for my entire adult life, and when I wanted to start teaching again last year Calhoun gave me the first opportunity. I think community colleges are a critical link to success, because the barriers to entry are much lower than for four-year schools and they provide opportunity to low-income and non-traditional students that might otherwise not get the chance for an education. I have previously taught at the master's level as an adjunct, and I take great personal and professional pride at bringing the same level of quality and content to my community college courses. 8/25/2015 9:47 AM 60 I love helping students learn. 8/25/2015 8:52 AM 61 I love Machine Tool & Technology and all the people affiliated with it. MTT has become a second home to me and I wish to help grow into something more. 62 I love working with students and helping them prepare for their careers. The faculty and staff at CCC are supportive and great to work with. 63 I love teaching in an environment where the instructor has control of the class in truth and not in word alone. I also love being able to teach on a higher level than high school will let one teach. 64 I'm retired after 31 years of teaching at Calhoun on both campuses, day, evening and web. I love teaching and was not ready to give up the experience. I hope the continue teaching for as long as I'm physically able. 8/25/2015 8:17 AM 8/25/2015 7:56 AM 8/25/2015 7:41 AM 8/25/2015 6:25 AM 65 I like teaching. 8/25/2015 6:11 AM 66 It allows me to be flexible and available for my family. 8/25/2015 5:18 AM 67 I was asked to apply for this position because there was a need for an instructor for Music Appreciation, and I was looking for a teaching position in the Huntsville area. 8/24/ :24 PM 68 The reputation amongst students in the Valley is the high quality of instructional materials delivered to students. 8/24/ :22 PM 69 I wanted to teach at college level, and Calhoun is the nearest option. 8/24/ :01 PM 70 I enjoy teaching. By teaching at college I feel like I can help the younger students. 8/24/2015 9:37 PM 8/24/2015 8:48 PM 72 Payments could be higher but I stay for now because of very supportive working environment 8/24/2015 7:10 PM 73 I appreciate the communities served by Calhoun and I want to be involved in educating the local work force. 8/24/2015 7:05 PM 74 Calhoun is one of the best colleges in Alabama with a great reputation. 8/24/2015 6:58 PM 75 I enjoy teaching college-aged students. 8/24/2015 6:58 PM 76 Reputable community college; offered the position 8/24/2015 5:59 PM 77 I have taught at Calhoun off and on since At this time I am teaching because I need the money to pay for my my children's school expenses. 19 87 Calhoun students are wonderful to work with, and I feel that they have a true desire to learn. 20 Q14 Please list at least five areas where Calhoun s Adjunct Training needs improvement Answered: 85 Skipped: 28 # Responses Date 1 Calhoun needs to treat its adjuncts with respect and dignity. We need to be recognized for the time and effort we put forth to help our students be the best they can be. Adjuncts need to be invited to the professional training that the other full-time instructors are given. Adjuncts need to be given some hope of eventually obtaining full time employment based on our performance in current employment. 9/14/2015 8:45 PM 2 Notification when textbooks change. Onboarding. 9/14/2015 3:36 PM 3 Software training and professional development seminars are two areas that I would like to see improved for those of us who work a full time job and can't make it during the day. 9/14/2015 1:56 PM 4 Blackboard (hands on not online) First class Grade reporting Crisis Situations Conflict Resolution 9/10/2015 4:01 PM 5 1. Policies and Procedures Manual 2. The has NO people skills and no observable leadership ability. Replace with someone who leads by example! 3. MyCalhoun / Grades and Attendance 9/9/2015 7:42 PM 6 Training is satisfactory 9/9/ :24 AM 7 need time to prepare for lectures and labs, need time to prepare powerpoints, need instruction on the proper way to post grades, help dealing with difficult students properly. 8 1.) Professional Development opportunities 2.) Department wide communication 3.) Department wide training 4.) College wide Orientation 5.) Departmental Meetings 9/9/2015 9:06 AM 9/7/2015 5:37 PM 9 1. Banner Training 2. Access Training 3. How to find vital employee Information 9/6/2015 5:17 PM 10 I have no frame of reference to answer. 9/4/2015 8:07 PM 11 N/A 9/4/2015 3:52 PM 12 Pay. Appreciation of adjuncts, not just a lunch. Bonus for good reviews and classes. A religion department. Did I mention pay? I don't think all adjuncts should be paid the same. Experience should play a part as well as performance. 9/4/2015 9:36 AM 13 Availability Flexibility 9/4/2015 8:04 AM 14 Better equipment for training 9/3/2015 5:53 PM Adjunct often feel excluded from full time faculty which makes it difficult to share ideas and become colleagues with faculty. 2. Adjunct instructors are notified last minute about upcoming courses and their assignments for the new semester. This leave little time for enhancing course material and properly preparing for the semester. 16 This is not training, but it is not fair that instructors with a J.D. Degree are paid at doctorate level when JDs get that pay at every other community college in Alabama. 9/3/2015 4:54 PM 9/3/2015 8:53 AM 17 Opportunities for Professional Development Updates for Adjunct Instructors 9/2/2015 5:33 PM 18 Blackboard training could be better. IT should be readily available at night to correct A/V and computer issues. 9/2/2015 3:56 PM More training in Blackboard and/or various technology outside of typical 9 to 5 hours. Most adjuncts work other jobs. 2. Orientation/education regarding the overall educational programs offered at the college. 3. Teaching techniques 4. Continuing Ed courses 9/1/2015 9:49 PM 20 Blackboard training prior to semester start 8/31/2015 7:15 PM 21 Not enough full time opportunities for employment. Get one day to get one on one training. No organized training for first-time instructors No real guidance. Most tasks you get are via and typically short notice. 2. No training opportunities, all are taught on days. 3. No one to help at nights if you have IT issues, maintenance issues, etc. 4. Would like some kind of feedback as to if we are doing a good job or have areas that need work. 5. Should post openings to your adjuncts or at least survey their interest. 6. You spend most of your time in the dark with little information. 8/31/2015 5:47 PM 8/31/2015 5:11 PM 20 / 31

23 1. How students matriculate through admission, advising, etc. 2. Specific communication about training on all systems used by CCC (Blackboard, Tegrity, etc.) - I had to teach myself all of it. 3. Specific training for textbook publisher platforms (i.e. McGraw-Hill Connect) - again, I had to work my way through it all myself. 4. How to get information to/from different areas of CCC. 4. How to use the testing center. 5. How to order supplies (i.e. for laboratory classes) areas: 1. Earlier training time - weeks before instead of days 2. Employees from different buildings to address areas that adjuncts need to know 3. Training with advisors - students ask us questions and I want to be sure that I am giving accurate information 4. Grading - I would like a veteran teacher to look over how I am grading - too easy or to severe??? 5. More Bb training 25 I have only one area that I think needs improvement and that is in the area of teaching skills (knowing a subject is one thing but being able to teach it is another). 8/31/2015 3:25 PM 8/31/2015 1:53 PM 8/30/2015 1:12 PM 26 more than just at the beginning of fall semester. 8/28/2015 3:04 PM 27 Currently, I don't see anything. They do a great job with communication and taking care of business in a timely manner. 28 Communication with adjunct, providing mailboxes, distinguishing adjunct from full-time faculty in correspondences, policy and procedure, bookstore interaction. 29 More mentoring, not to check a tell you what a new teacher is doing wrong but for establishing expectations. Empowering adjuncts to make decisions on curriculum. 30 unified curriculum between adjuncts teaching the same course, clear curriculum specifications for individual courses, time spent training, reinforcing training throughout the semester 8/28/ :44 AM 8/27/2015 7:30 PM 8/27/ :48 AM 8/27/2015 9:53 AM 31 Disabilities 8/27/2015 1:42 AM 32 ebooks, grading/weight of assignments 8/26/2015 3:19 PM 33 We are not trained for the new technology that a new textbook company offers. 8/26/2015 2:07 PM 34 Inservice in August has become TOO LONG for those of us who are working full time else where. It is a state problem, but I calculated that, with the time spent, I am basically making $8 an hour with a master's degree. Would not seek a masters if I had it to do over. Not worth it. 35 Blackboard, Tegrity, Starfish, Connect Writing Need to compensate adjuncts for required meetings Need to compensate adjuncts for new duties / additional electronic paperwork Need intensive training in dealing with students with disabilities 8/26/ :38 AM 8/26/ :35 AM 36 IT, Blackboard, Starfish, MyCalhoun, communication/scheduling 8/26/ :30 AM 37 Communication! Introduction of administration and what they do- who do you call to solve problems Interaction with other faculty both full and part time Better professional development 38 More opportunities for training. More training at the Huntsville campus. More training in individual courses. More training that is not rushed. More training that is hands on Blackboard Training 2. Greater access to teaching resources 3. Improved communication 4. Soft-skills training provided for employees 5. Updated personal computers and technology for instructors to utilize. 40 blackboard, help for those that cannot attend training because of jobs, providing a place to work quietly before and after class, closer ties to syllabus making at an early date before week of class, informing adjuncts of book changes before classes begin 41 Adjuncts need more online training and training in technology. Adjuncts should also be given more opportunities to teach online classes. 8/26/ :07 AM 8/26/2015 9:56 AM 8/26/2015 8:56 AM 8/25/2015 5:32 PM 8/25/2015 5:28 PM 42 Use of electronics that are available in the class room. 22 49 1) A sense of inclusiveness for Adjuncts. The atmosphere here isolates adjuncts to some extent and does not provide the sense of community (college wide or departmentally) that would encourage innovation and dedication. This is especially important as adjuncts are starting so that they have colleagues to talk to. We need events to engage with the full time faculty as well as with other adjuncts. 2) Organization. There are some resources out there but it is hard for new adjunct to navigate the system. I have not checked it out but I am sure the new blackboard site will help with this. 3) Accountability. I think that some evaluation of teaching abilities (professionally and student based) would be a great step in increasing the engagement of our faculty at all levels. (I know that this isn't related to training but it is important). 4) More information about resources available to students. When we have students that have problems, such as needing tutoring or disability services, it is difficult to figure out where to send them. 5) Ongoing professional development. More continuing education on teaching, technology, and content would be very helpful. 50 It is not so much as we need training, it is the need to feel included and treated with value. I hate being put down because I am not full time. I see a lot as an adjunct and the years I have taught, yet there is no value to my opinion when asked because the response was, well we asked full time faculty and they said this Cleaning the white boards when they are done with class. Making sure they teach all that is on the syllabus - too many tinmes I get students in a sequence course where the previuos teacher did not cover all the material. Having some say in the texts chosen. Make sure we receive all necessary teaching materials - answer books for example. 8/25/ :14 AM 8/25/ :04 AM 8/25/ :45 AM More training in the Spring for new faculty 2. More money would be nice! 3. Really can't think of anything else 8/25/2015 9:53 AM 53 None, really. I get all the information I need from my program head and the administrative staff. Everyone has been very helpful. 54 A mentoring system would be wonderful. I have done that informally with new adjuncts, since someone took me under her wing and helped me get started in /25/2015 9:47 AM 8/25/2015 8:52 AM 55 Cannot think of any. So far every other Adjunct I have met has been fairly competent. 8/25/2015 8:17 AM 56 The new Starfish, training for every time they change our website, and MyCalhoun. 8/25/2015 7:41 AM 57 None listed 8/25/2015 6:25 AM 58 It's not so much the training that needs improving, but the technology in the classroom to be able to teach what is required in my specific course. 1. The screen in the classroom #31 is too small for the projected picture. 2. The console needs to be able to mute the projected picture without muting the sound. 3. The lights need to be put on a dimmer so that students are able to see to take notes. As it is now, the room is completely dark when lights are turned off to view a video or document. 4. Internet connections are very slow in room #31 downstairs. 5. It would be very helpful to have a tutorial on how to fix issues with the console in the room, internet issues, external hard drive issues, etc.! 8/24/ :24 PM 59 Ways to improve instruction methods, opportunities to connect with other adjuncts/departments/full-timers 8/24/ :01 PM 60 Vertical alignment in the subject areas (to check to see if instructors are covering the necessary skills for the next level) 8/24/2015 9:37 PM 61 Time management Having supplies on time Better communication 8/24/2015 8:48 PM 62 Tegrity training 8/24/2015 7:10 PM 63 1) It would be good to have a norming exercise for essays with a rubric and discussion board. 2) An adjunct portal for sharing assignments, ideas, or observations 3) Opportunities to schedule an observation of a full-time faculty member's class(es). 4) Examples of using technology in the classroom (beyond video and web links) 5) Too much repetition of material. 8/24/2015 7:05 PM 64 Blackboard First Class Mail 8/24/2015 6:58 PM 65 Timeliness of training - preferably prior to semester beginning rather than after. 8/24/2015 6:58 PM 66 Training; specifically on logistics (parking passes, IDs, etc.) Technology: using the equipment within the classrooms Printing; codes etc 67 For a beginning Adjunct there needs to be more explanation and teaching of the systems used and the technology in the classroom, especially if one hasn't used any of the above before. There should be more information pertaining to student needs, for example what happens if a student gets behind due to their financial aid not going through or what happens if a student doesn't drop the course and never attends. 68 training for first-time adjuncts who are new to teaching a document that has answer's to students FAQs more opportunities to get together, especially by department so we know who else is teaching our subject 8/24/2015 5:59 PM 8/24/2015 4:54 PM 8/24/2015 4:38 PM 69 Campus tour for new adjuncts, interaction with other departments 8/24/2015 4:16 PM 22 / 31

70 1) While we may know our subject areas well, we need methodology instruction in education principles, etc for adult learners. 2) Training in the effective use of 'group projects' for certain types of courses and student groups. 3)Training in writing course objectives in a measurable/quantitative way. 4) More opportunities for instruction on Blackboard and Tegrity (more opportunities offered for adjuncts on weekends or evenings. 3) Tra 71 My program director provided all the training I received as an adjunct as far as blackboard, mycalhoun, the print shop, business office requests ect. Access to online policies/procedures and forms. If these exist, where are they? That was never communicated. My other job often interferes with training. Online training/videos option in addition to in person training. Resources or CE options to help with instruction, assessment of outcomes, lesson plan development. My expertise is real world. My college was healthcare related-not education. More guidance/ resources on the instructional aspect would be great! 8/24/2015 4:13 PM 8/24/2015 4:06 PM 72 Technology. Learning to use blackboard, the smart notebook software and any other technology used here at CCC. 8/24/2015 4:04 PM resource availability 2. developing relationships with other adjuncts / full-time professors 3. more information concerning technology 4. clearer expectations across the board 5. more opportunities to teach online classes 8/24/2015 3:37 PM 74 Honestly I am satisfied with the way it is done now. Don't need to overload adjuncts with more training. 8/24/2015 3:27 PM Use of technology in the classroom - from the simplest display of PowerPoint to showing online videos, etc. 2. Ways to help students successfully use Connect. 3. An orientation program each semester, or at least each fall semester, on the use of Tegrity, and the other available programs and their specific uses. This needs to include making videos for Bb, etc. 3. A quick orientation about all the programs available to students. 76 After attending training, have a lab for teachers to work on setting up blackboard, DL, etc. This will allow them to personalize what they need with assistance for questions. 77 DL faculty need online and remote support options, as opposed to being expected to come on campus. As a true virtual faculty member, all support resources of all kinds (textbooks, mail, etc.) need to be provided to online faculty remotely More interaction with full-time faculty members to discuss discipline requirements. 2. Things happening around campus. 3. What outside assistance is available to students 4. Special programs available to students (upward bound, etc.) 5. 8/24/2015 3:08 PM 8/24/2015 2:28 PM 8/24/2015 2:11 PM 8/24/2015 1:57 PM 79 Almost all areas 8/24/2015 1:44 PM 80 It might help if all program director or department heads understand what adjuncts should do or know as well. When I started my program director could not answer any questions for me and I was always seeking someone to help. 81 Hiring Adjuncts a month in advance in order for them to prepare adequately for their courses. Mentoring from those in their department would be helpful. Professional development would be nice. 8/20/2015 6:56 PM 8/20/2015 1:36 PM 82 New adjuncts often feel lost. 8/19/2015 8:57 AM 83 Maybe more training in effective teaching methods. 8/15/2015 7:04 PM 84 Too many different places to get answers, should be one location only. 8/14/2015 4:20 PM 85 Needs to be offered at various times for those with full time jobs. 8/13/2015 6:16 PM 23 / 31

Q15 Please list at least three things that Calhoun is doing right in the way the College trains Adjuncts Answered: 79 Skipped: 34 # Responses Date 1 I believe that has begun to move things in the right direction. Adjuncts have been more notified and are more prepared because of the initiative that he has taken with building a culture of success around the campus. 9/14/2015 1:56 PM 2 Fall Kickoff Helpful Faculty Adjunct Training in Blackboard 9/10/2015 4:01 PM 3 Training is almost nonexistent and someone needs to train the trainers! 9/9/2015 7:42 PM 4 Training is satisfactrory 9/9/ :24 AM 5 I have excellent support, easy to find answers to my questions, got into blackboard with ease, 9/9/2015 9:06 AM 6 1.) Recent implementation of school wide communication policies. 2.) Recent efforts in providing a general support network for Adjuncts. 3.) The offer of DL Training Courses 9/7/2015 5:37 PM 7 1. Great Blackboard training 2. Great distant education training 9/6/2015 5:17 PM 8 I have no frame of reference. 9/4/2015 8:07 PM 9 N/A 9/4/2015 3:52 PM 10 The gathering before school started was actually helpful this time because of the speaker. Providing offices for adjunct. Direct deposit. 9/4/2015 9:36 AM 11 Communication Safe environment Keeping staff happy 9/4/2015 8:04 AM I like that Calhoun includes adjuncts in the professional development opportunities provide to other faculty. 2. This year the adjunct training was "real" training and a very informative program 9/3/2015 4:54 PM 13 Meetings with the paralegal dept. head. 9/3/2015 8:53 AM 14 I did not receive an invitation for adjunct training this year, but in the past I have attended. The overall training was good, and for my subject area we had often met prior to the adjunct inservice, so an additional time to meet was usually not needed. My department does a great job with training everyone who will teach our course Allowing for individuality in teaching. 2. Providing a curriculum layout sand guidelines. 3. Department and full time faculty access and assistance in sharing materials and knowledge. 9/2/2015 5:33 PM 9/1/2015 9:49 PM 16 Support in resolving issues 9/1/2015 5:50 PM 17 Adjunct orientation during fall semester -- which is the extent of Adjunct training, therefore cannot name two more things. 18 Have instructors with great attitude when you ask for help- always willing to help you out! Gives a lot of templates and ideas to help you each semester Classrooms and labs are generally in good shape. 2. Doing a better job in. One common site to get to all your information I like the beginning of the year program. 2. I like being able to go to campus and speak with the Dean and other teachers before school begins. 3. do a great job ing us information and giving us advice. 21 1) orientation for adjuncts is high quality; 2) the offerings of the adjunct office lets the instructors know the college cares; and 3) help with keeping up with administrative tasks. 8/31/2015 7:15 PM 8/31/2015 5:47 PM 8/31/2015 5:11 PM 8/31/2015 1:53 PM 8/30/2015 1:12 PM 22 I was very pleased with the fall training. 8/28/2015 3:04 PM 23 knows what he is doing. If he doesn't know an answer, he will do whatever he can to get the answer and make sure all is taken care of. 8/28/ :44 AM 24 Annual get together, syllabus information, attendance requirements. 8/27/2015 7:30 PM 25 department meetings with adjuncts, adjunct reception and orientation, adjunct supplies and equipment 8/27/2015 9:53 AM 24 / 31

26 Blackboard 8/27/2015 1:42 AM 27 In-service training each fall, willingness of full time instructors to assist adjuncts, online helps (blackboard), offering one day training sessions (DL, Blackboard, etc.) 8/26/2015 3:19 PM 28 There are many opportunities to learn how to use Blackboard. 8/26/2015 2:07 PM 29 Good communication within our department. 8/26/ :38 AM 30 Individual assistance from department chairs and other fulltime is very helpful. 8/26/ :26 AM breakout at the beginning of school year. 8/26/ :30 AM 32 Being included in s to college Haven't seen it yet but new Blackboard shell for adjuncts is a good idea 8/26/ :07 AM 33 semester training, allow us to attend professional development training, 8/26/ :05 AM 34 Trying to have meetings. Communicating more. Being available to answer questions. 8/26/2015 9:56 AM Providing personal faculty mentors to new staff 2. Providing training sessions on curriculum 3. Providing IT assistance when needed 8/26/2015 8:56 AM 36 workshops, 8/25/2015 5:32 PM 37 I appreciate that Calhoun respects and encourages individuality and, for the most part, academic freedom within our disciplines. 8/25/2015 5:28 PM 38 New year meeting. There are lots of offers for training sent through first class. 8/25/2015 2:59 PM 39 There was no formal training, I learned on the fly and when I was able to attend scheduled training primarily for Education Technology. 8/25/2015 2:48 PM 40 Outreach, community relations 8/25/2015 2:20 PM 41 Department chairs and secretaries are responsive and supportive. 8/25/2015 2:19 PM 42 *The secretaries at each campus are very knowledgeable and helpful. 8/25/2015 2:14 PM 43 adequate orientation to the campus (not repetitive as it is in many places) 8/25/ :12 PM 44 great guidance from the department heads, a wonderful adjunct secretary 8/25/ :37 AM 45 1) The adjunct orientation is a good thing. I especially liked the professional, key-note speaker this year. Very informative. 2) The blackboard site seems like a step in the right direction for organizing information and getting adjuncts started. 3) The set goal of giving us more professional development and resources to improve out teaching and student interaction is a good one. I hope that these things continue to be developed. 46 If we have been here for a while we don't really need training. Some of the information is redundant and unnecessary when we have been here for years. There needs to be a separation for new adjuncts vs. established adjuncts. 47 The Fall get together this year was great - continue that. Help other teachers when you have been doing it forever. I appreciate just being left alone to do what I do best - teach! 8/25/ :14 AM 8/25/ :04 AM 8/25/ :45 AM Great support for full time faculty and staff 2. Good communication 3. Excellent computer classes/training 8/25/2015 9:53 AM 49 Employing supervisors that care.:) 8/25/2015 9:47 AM 50 The general adjunct orientation meetings are helpful but always come too close to the start of the semester. 8/25/2015 8:52 AM 51 Once again. Drawing a blank on this one. 8/25/2015 8:17 AM 52 You have an adjunct orientation meeting and give out needed information in a packet. I am kept in the communication loop throughout the semester by the department secretary. You offer us training and development opportunities. 53 Offering training throughout the year for professional development, the deans and department chairs making themselves available to adjunct faculty, and sending s with instructions on how to do things in MyCalhoun and Blackboard if one is not able to attend a training session. 8/25/2015 7:56 AM 8/25/2015 7:41 AM 54 Have not received training from Calhoun. 8/25/2015 6:36 AM 55 None listed 8/25/2015 6:25 AM There are plenty of s sent to us about training for the programs that are offered or needed for teaching our particular classes, such as Blackboard, Tegrity, etc. 2. The professionals who hold these seminars and training sessions are very accessible and helpful when extra help is needed. 3. New adjuncts are put in touch with experienced instructors in their particular courses who can help get them trained and proficient in the use of the tools needed to navigate their class! 8/24/ :24 PM 25 / 31

57 Hiring high school teacher with experience. 8/24/2015 8:48 PM 58 Blackboard training 8/24/2015 7:10 PM 59 1) Letting adjuncts meet one another at orientation 2) Keeping the Adjunct Training in our Bb shells 3) Calhoun takes Adjuncts seriously, keeps us informed, gives us a voice, and treats us as professionals. 8/24/2015 7:05 PM 60 I had a great orientation with my dean. 8/24/2015 6:58 PM 61 Communication is very good. 8/24/2015 6:58 PM 62 Having personnel who actually teach those classes train new adjuncts. 8/24/2015 5:59 PM 63 It has easy access to people to speak to and there is a wide variety of help available when needed if you know who to talk to. 64 The fall kick-off meeting is helpful The communication is generally good. I know the deadlines and what is needed from me at the beginning and end of each semester 8/24/2015 4:54 PM 8/24/2015 4:38 PM 65 Orientation, professional development, inclusive s 8/24/2015 4:16 PM 66 1) Emphasis on multi-media instruction 2) Emphasis on IT and all technologies in and outside the classroom 3) The Professional Development day this year was very good, with effective teaching techniques being demonstrated in the lecture. 67 I have been at Calhoun for over 15 years and I don't remember receiving any training for adjuncts. I had to ask my department chair questions about everything. A formal session would have been great. When the projectors were added to the room, I did not know how to turn it off or on. The button on the wall works AFTER you turn on the button the top of the desk where the computer is located. I am technologically proficient, but I had to have a different instructor show me something this simple. 8/24/2015 4:13 PM 8/24/2015 4:04 PM The handouts are helpful 2. is amazing 3. The PD opportunities are nice 8/24/2015 3:37 PM 69 s with instructions. Training sessions for new adjuncts. Answering questions whenever need help. 8/24/2015 3:27 PM The advent of listening and acting upon the suggestions of the professors and others who deal directly with students and/or technological areas and issues. 2. Added a Writing Lab, but we need more. Ideally, all Developmental English classes should be taught in classrooms with computers. 3. Adding direct deposits for adjuncts. What a blessing! 8/24/2015 3:08 PM 71 The is quick to respond to questions and always willing to help. 8/24/2015 2:28 PM 72 The new interface with support on Bb is a great start. The orientation opportunity was a nice touch and the speaker was great; however, this should not have been required for virtual faculty members Thank you for the indoctrination held 13 August! It was great we had the same speaker full time faculty had! 2. Other faculty are always willing to assist with training materials. 3. 8/24/2015 2:11 PM 8/24/2015 1:57 PM 74 None are being done very well. It is on a volunteer basis with pressure to use items not explained. 8/24/2015 1:44 PM 75 I think giving adjuncts resources through Blackboard is great. Having the instructions at hand can make a huge difference to new adjuncts. 76 I was not trained and my first semester I had to figure it out as I went along. I struggled at first but improved a lot over the semester. I didn't ask my Dept. Chair for support or help because I was given the impression that he was overwhelmed with teaching an overload of classes himself. It would have been better for me and my students that first semester if I was trained and had some guidance and support to let me know I was on track or where I needed to put my efforts. 8/20/2015 6:56 PM 8/20/2015 1:36 PM 77 DL/Blackboard training is effective and frequent. 8/19/2015 8:57 AM 78 Provides generic departmental syllabus: Works with instructors on scheduling classes around instructor availability. 8/15/2015 7:04 PM 79 My is great and helpful and patient. 8/14/2015 4:20 PM 26 / 31
