2 Summer Day Camp The Lawrence Township Recreation Department offers a summer camp program for children 6 to 12 years old with weekly themes, sports, games, arts & crafts, special events, guest visits, day trips and much, much more. This program is available at Veterans Park. Morning sessions are from 9-12, afternoon session are from 1-4 and full day is from 9-4. Before and after camp care are also available for those that need it. Registration can be for one or more of the two week sessions which meet Monday to Friday. Session I June 25 through July 6 Session II July 9 through July 20 Session III July 23 through August 3 Session IV 17 August 6 through August AM session $ 215 PM session $ 215 Full Day $ 305 ($290 if registered before May 1) Before Camp (Available 8 to 9 am) $50 for two weeks After Camp (Available 4 to 6 pm) $60 for two weeks Sports Camp The summer sport camp will offer children the opportunity to participate in a full day sports camp where there will be a combination of instruction and competition throughout the day in multiple sports. Campers between 6 and 12 years old will have the opportunity to participate in different sports during the camp which will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. For those interested in only half day camp, registration will be possible for morning (9:00 am to 12N) or afternoon (1:00 pm to 4:00 pm). 3 Art / Theater Camp Campers who enjoy the arts will love this camp for students entering 2 ND through 7 TH grades (Fall 2018). This camp will provide morning instruction (9:00 am to 12N) in visual arts and afternoons (1:00 pm to 4:00 pm) will focus on Theater where counselors choose a different theme to develop with students. Individuals can register for morning, afternoon or full day. Session I June 26 - July 6 Session II July 9 - July 20 Full Day Fee - $275 AM (Art) session=$195 PM (Theater) session $195 Teen Travel Camp Children entering 5th 8th can participate in the Travel Camp program where participants take a different trip each day to the beach, theme parks and more. Registration is for one week or more. Week # 1 July 9 to July 13 Week # 2 July 16 to July 20 Week # 3 July 23 to July 27 Fee: $ 295 weekly TRAVEL CAMP Safety Town The program for students entering Kindergarten in the Fall, will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am Monday through Friday from June 26th to July 6th at the Ben Franklin Elementary School. Students are taught how to create safe situations for themselves in everyday life. There will be trips to police and fire departments, visits by professionals and different funfilled experiences for the students. The staff will instruct students about safety around the home, fire safety, how to make 911 emergency telephone calls and other invaluable safety lessons. 4 Police Academy July 9th-July13th/Ages The Lawrence Township Police Department Youth Academy is a program designed to provide youth with firsthand knowledge about the duties and responsibilities of a police officer. Some of the topics will be car accident investigations, traffic enforcement, crime scenes, arrest, physical control, fire safety, first aid, report writing and physical conditioning. This program is available to Lawrence Township residents between 13 and 17 years of age. Classes will meet from 8 AM to 3 PM in the Lawrence Township Police Station. For additional information please contact Captain Brian Caloiaro at (609) or the Lawrence Township Recreation Department at (609) Fee: $50.00 Summer Field Hockey This summer, our Field Hockey Clinic will be held from July 10 -August 2 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm. This clinic will be open to all girls in 1st to 8th grade. Coaches and players come from local schools to work cooperatively in a program that will develop skills and a love for field hockey. There will be drills and scrimmages with Hopewell Rec on the turf field at Twin Pines. Fee= $40.00 Summer Track A Track series will be held Tuesday & Thursday evenings 6:30-8 pm, July 10 - August 2 for 3rd-8th graders interested in seeing how fast they can become. Coaches and varsity track athletes will teach and encourage athletes in starts, form and relays in sprint and distance events. This is excellent training for other sports. Fee=$

5 Lawrence Nature Center Camps STEAMIN' at the LNC camp July Grades 3-6 Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math in Nature Students in grades 3-6 (in Sept. 2018) have the opportunity to participate in a unique camp designed for children who enjoy learning about nature as well as science, technology, engineering, art and math. Each day of the week, participants will focus on discovery and exploration as they hike, observe, construct, create and immerse themselves in the wonders of nature. Experiments, research and hands on projects will ensure active, engaged, fun learning for all! Do they ask a lot of questions? Do they like exploring, tinkering, building, testing, experimenting? We have a place for them! Our summer camp offers children the opportunity to pursue their curiosity about the world around them in an amazing setting, with engaging, hands-on activities led by a respected award-winning veteran STEM and Elementary Science Teacher. Campers will participate in a variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) experiences that will awaken their curiosity and inspire interest in such topics as stream and forest ecology, design-build-test engineering, visual and spatial awareness and design, data collection and analysis, reasoning-logic-sequencing, and experimentation. They will also enjoy games and sports. Our camp offers a little bit of everything! Individuals withdrawing from a program, that has not yet started, will be assessed a fee of 25% of the registration fee paid. Once a program has started no refunds will be issued with the exception of programs which are cancelled, postponed or rescheduled by the Recreation Department. 6
