1 (concept) PROGRAMME LONDON 6 10 APRIL 2011 About the VBT The Vereniging van Bouwkunst Tilburg (VBT) is a society of architects and urban designers who all graduated at the Academy of Architecture and Urban Design in Tilburg, the Netherlands. As society we organize four, sometimes five excursions to various places around the world, mostly to visit contemporary architecture. This year we are going to visit London from April the 6 th to April the 10 th Contact information The London excursion is organized by two members of the board: Jan Brouwers and Peter Driessen. 2 WEDNESDAY 6 APRIL: ARRIVAL & CENTRE WALK 11:00 GMT Arrival St Pancras Station International Rail Station tube naar hotel 11:32 GMT Arrival Carlton Hotel 12:00 Finished with check in, luggage, room division, make up and so on 12:00 13:00 Lunch In the afternoon there will be a walk through the centre of London. The main goals to achieve in this walk are: Design for London Introduction about urban problems/projects/design of London, history of London. 4 THURSDAY 7 APRIL: SOUTH LONDON 08:00 GMT It would be great if we can visit the City Hall or the Strata Tower in the morning with a small guided tour If it s not possible we take a walk from the hotel, during the walk we won t visit buildings, but we will see: City Hall Shad thames building Housing at Wansey street Strata Tower 10:06 Depart Kennington Underground Station Take the Northern Line towards Morden 10:14 Stockwell Underground Station Take the Victoria Line towards Brixton Underground Station 10:16 Arrival at Brixton Underground Station 10:30 GMT Guided Tour Evelyn Grace Academy and a short presentation Status: Confirmed: Appointment am. Possible guide of 20 minutes at the Wellcome Trust Gibbs Building. Elayne Hodgson Wellcome Trust: An appointment for a guided tour of 20 minutes is possible between 11:00 and 16:30.
