1 The Society for Marketing Professional Services - Atlanta Chapter (SMPS-ATL) is calling for nominations for the Executive Board and Directors. Nominations may be made by individuals (self-nominations are allowed) or by petition and must be received by 5:00 p.m., April 15, Individuals being nominated must be a current SMPS member for at least one year. All nominations must be submitted on the Nomination Form (page 5). Please use one Nomination Form for each nominee submitted. Positions eligible for nomination this year include: Executive Board: President-Elect Executive Board: Secretary Executive Board: Treasurer Director-at-Large: Programs Director-at-Large: Membership Director-at-Large: Education Director-at-Large: Sponsorship Director-at-Large: Communications Director-at-Large: Chapter Development Terms Terms of office for all positions officially commence on September 1, 2015; however, new board members will need to participate in at least two planning/transition meetings from June 1 - August 31, Please refer to the following pages for a list of board and director-at-large position descriptions,you can also visit the SMPS-ATL website ( or speak with a current board member to find out more. 2 Executive Board Descriptions President-Elect The President-Elect stands ready to fill in for the President in his/her absence. In addition, the President-Elect shall have all the powers and be subject to the same restrictions as the President. The President-Elect assists the President in overseeing the Board and serves as an additional resource for all positions and committees. The President-Elect also serves on the Executive Committee of the Chapter. To be eligible for election as President-Elect, the individual must have served on the Board of Directors for one year or have served as a committee chair for one year, and be a member in good standing. Current President-Elect ; kthompkins@heery.com Secretary The secretary is the chronicler for the Chapter and ensures minutes are taken, recorded and distributed at all Board and Executive Committee meetings. The Secretary also serves on the Executive Committee of the Chapter. To be eligible for election as Secretary, the individual must be a member in good standing and have served on a Chapter committee for one year. Current Secretary Eric Keens, CPSM Pond & Company ; keense@pondco.com Treasurer The treasurer is ultimately responsible for the fiscal management and financial integrity of the Chapter. The Treasurer also serves on the Executive Committee of the Chapter. To be eligible for election as Treasurer, the individual must be a member in good standing and have served on a Chapter committee for one year. 3 Board of Director Descriptions Director-at-Large: Programs The Programs Director is charged with planning and implementing programs for the Chapters monthly luncheons. Programming is designed for a diverse target audience (coordinators, managers, directors, principals). The Programs Director assigns and works with program champions identified in the committee meetings. Current Programs Director Lisa B. Roberson, CPSM Newcomb & Boyd ; lbr@newcomb-boyd.com Director-at-Large: Membership The Membership Director is charged with maintaining current membership, acts as the SMPS member contact on all issues related to membership, and is responsible for increasing Atlanta Chapter membership and member retention. Current Membership Director Faith Hoople Fulcrum Construction ; fhoople@fulcrumconstruction.com Director-at-Large: Education The Education Director is charged with planning, developing and implementing learning opportunities for the chapter, including Marketing Boot Camps, as they relate to SMPS Six Domains of Practice. Educational opportunities are designed for a diverse target audience (coordinators, managers, directors, principals). The Education Director assigns and works with program champions identified in the committee meetings. 4 Board of Director Descriptions Director-at-Large: Sponsorship The Sponsorship Director works with companies to identify opportunities to promote and market a company s array of services directly to its potential end-users. Current Sponsorship Director Vacant (please contact for more information) ; kthompkins@heery.com Director-at-Large: Communications The Director of Communications is charged with creating brand awareness for SMPS-Atlanta through various communication efforts ( s, website, chapter newsletter, social media, branding and PR) and supporting other Directors with their communication needs to ensure brand consistency in all SMPS-Atlanta correspondence. Current Communications Director Malory Atkinson, CPSM, LEED GA Foresite Group ; matkinson@fg-inc.net Director-at-Large: Chapter Development The Director of Chapter Development is a strategic advisory position on the Board of Directors charged with planning, developing, and/or directing initiatives that contribute to the overall success and growth of SMPS-Atlanta. These initiatives will directly support the mission of SMPS and may vary from year to year. Appropriate candidates will have 10 or more years experience in the AEC industry and 5 or more years experience in SMPS. Past chapter presidents, officers, and board members, as well as professionals with the CPSM or FSMPS designation are preferred. To be eligible for election as a Director-at-Large, the individuals must be a member in good standing and have served on a Chapter committee for at least one year each.
