5 Customer information Who we are Gas Networks Ireand, deveops, operates and maintains the natura gas pipeine network in the Repubic of Ireand. Gas Networks Ireand deivers natura gas through the pipeine network on behaf of a gas suppiers, and is aso responsibe for connecting a natura gas customers to the network. Gas Networks Ireand has deveoped a transmission (high-pressure) pipeine network of over 2,400km and a distribution (ow/mediumpressure) pipeine network of over 11,100km. The transmission system is inked to the UK and internationa gas markets through two sub-sea interconnectors. Gas Networks Ireand expands and upgrades the network in Ireand to meet the growing demand for natura gas. There are over 650,000 residentia, commercia and industria customers connected to the gas network in Ireand. Natura gas is currenty avaiabe in over 160 popuation centres across 19 counties throughout the country. 6 The services we provide Gas Networks Ireand connects a natura gas customers to the network and as such we are responsibe for carrying out a reated work. We buid a transmission and distribution pipeines across the country and within town areas We deiver natura gas through these pipeines to natura gas customers We connect a industria, commercia and domestic customers to the natura gas network We carry out a pipeine service aying and modifications at a customer s property We compete a gas meter instaations, aterations and disconnections We carry out a meter reading activities and provide the information to the gas suppier registered at each property We provide safety and emergency services across the network 24 hours a day, 365 days a year Gas Networks Ireand provides some of these services free of charge, whie other services have associated charges. 7 Getting connected If you woud ike to get connected to natura gas pease foow these steps: 1. Ca Businessink on and we wi verify natura gas avaiabiity in your area or the possibiity of a connection to the natura gas network. 2. A Gas Networks Ireand representative wi contact you to discuss your requirements and provide advice on what information you wi need to suppy. 3. Submit this information, incuding any required pans, to Gas Networks Ireand (pans@gasnetworks.ie). 4. Gas Networks Ireand wi deveop a pipeine networks design for your deveopment and a quotation wi be issued to you aong with connection terms and conditions. For arger deveopments, there may be a pre-payabe charge for this work, which wi be set against chargabe costs if the connection to the natura gas network goes ahead. 5. If you wish to go ahead with the natura gas connection(s), the quoted fee must be paid and a Connection Agreement signed prior to work commencing. 6. Once payment is made, you wi receive a receipt with connection detais and you wi be contacted by Gas Networks Ireand oca personne to arrange dates for the natura gas connection(s). 7. To get a meter instaed and an actua suppy of gas, you must sign up with a natura gas suppier who wi make arrangements with Gas Networks Ireand for the instaation work. A ist of natura gas suppiers operating in the Irish market wi be attached to your receipt etter or may be obtained from 8. Your Registered Gas Instaer/Competent Person must issue you with a conformance certificate confirming that your instaation is competed and tested to the Irish Gas Standards. 9. Gas Networks Ireand wi coect the certificate from site and fit the required meter(s). Pease note that ony when steps 7 and 8 have been competed correcty wi the required meter be fitted on the agreed date.
