We have corporate links with businesses locally, nationally and internationally. Our teaching team is internationally diverse with substantial academic and commercial experience. The current research interests of our subject group cover a range of fields including international entrepreneurship and innovation, global supply chain management, foreign direct investment, cross cultural management, international business finance, regional economic development, econometrics and reflective practices. The Department comprises 98 academic staff, and is continuing to grow. Teaching specialisms are related to the five subject groups which are based on the academic disciplines of: Marketing; International Business; Human Resource Management/Organisational Behaviour; Strategic Management nterprise and Change; and Languages. The first part will comprise of an informal discussion, a microteach presentation and a practical exercise. Following these the strongest candidates will then be invited to participate in the second part, which will be a formal interview. For the micro teach - presentation we would like you to prepare a short lecture, aimed at final year undergraduate students undertaking an International Business degree. The objective of the lecture will be to provide them with insights into links between theory and practice, which will assist them in their further studies and the Module this lecture would support is called 'Contemporary Issues in International Business'. You will have 15 minutes (strictly timed) to make your presentation, followed by 10 minutes of questions. Powerpoint and a Flip Chart will be available. Within the micro teach presentation you will be expected to demonstrate: Well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to International Business across a broad range of practice. Broad experience of teaching within a Higher ducation establishment, at both undergraduate and post-graduate level Knowledge of how information technology can support educational delivery and learning

5 Job description Job Title Faculty/Dept Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in International Business Sheffield Business School Grade 7/8 Reports to Direct reports Role Purpose Subject Group Leader for International Business and Business conomics None To teach and support students by taking a learner-centred approach in line with the University s Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy. To contribute to curriculum development and delivery, research and other forms of scholarly activity as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Main Duties The post holder performs a range of duties and responsibilities from those listed below. The balance of these will vary between post holders. Student xperience Designs and delivers innovative, high quality and challenging learning experiences. quips students with the skills, knowledge and attributes required by employers through delivery of the curriculum. Contributes to the development of a sense of student community and acts as key contact for students. Assists with the operational delivery of courses/modules and acts proactively to address any emerging issues, escalating as appropriate. Actively participates in student induction (where appropriate), including preparation of key information for students. Plays an active role in the pastoral care and supervision of students. Learning, Teaching and Assessment Plans and delivers the curriculum using appropriate media, including the use of IT. ngages in critical reflection on practice as a basis for improving performance. Contributes to innovation in learning, teaching, assessment and curriculum development with the aim of meeting the needs of learners. Provides effective feedback, support and guidance to students. Translates professional experience into the academic context as appropriate. Regularly engages in staff development activities relating to teaching, learning and assessment.
