1 Festival and Event Funding Guidelines & Application Applications open 1 May 2015 and close 12 June 2015 Funding available Community Festivals and Events - Up to $10,000 per event Assistance to Community Groups for a broad range of community festivals and events throughout the Moyne Shire

3 Introduction Through the Festival and Event Funding, Council aims to support community events and festivals throughout the Shire through the annual budget process. Guidelines Applications must be for festivals, events or activities that will assist community groups and organisations to facilitate the running of an activity to benefit residents and visitors to the Shire. Applications must clearly outline the aims and objectives and a full description of the Event. To be eligible for funding, the organisation or community group must: Be holding the festival, activity or event within the geographical boundaries of Moyne Shire, or be holding a festival, activity or event which benefits a significant number of Moyne Shire residents, Retain any monies raised from holding the festival, activity or event within the Moyne Shire community, The monies raised are not to be used primarily as a fundraiser, Be a Not for Profit organisation and clearly outline the aim of the festival, activity or event, Provide a financial statement with the application, include budget and actuals from previous year if applicable, Provide a business plan with the application. Council encourages local businesses and festival, activity and event organising groups to recognise and honour companion card holders. Council may request additional information. Objectives Increase the range of, and access to recreational, social, cultural and environmental festivals, activities or events. Support community development initiatives and socially responsible community activities. Give particular consideration to those community groups that can give the greatest benefit back to the community. Encourage and support the principles of access and equity.
4 Things to consider when applying for this funding Applicants need to be aware that the amount allocated may not match the requested amount. Applications are for the budget period only. Organisations and community groups are encouraged to apply for funding on an annual basis for festivals, events or activities that are held annually. All applications will close Friday 12 June There will be one round of funding where the Festival and Event Funding budget will be available for community festivals, events or activities. A second round may follow should all the funding not be allocated. 8 Festival and Event Acknowledgment Guidelines Moyne Shire is proud to be a partner in your festival, event or activity so it is important that everyone knows we are working together. The Festival and Event Funding Acknowledgment Guidelines explains when, where and how Moyne Shire can be acknowledged for their financial support. AIM To acknowledge Moyne Shire Council for the financial contribution received as a part of the Festival and Event Funding. REQUIREMENTS 1. Any press releases or announcements regarding the festival, event or activity should recognise the Moyne Shire s contribution, support, and the nature of funding, e.g. the Festival and Event Funding. 2. Any promotional material or other information such as newsletters published for the festival, event or activity should acknowledge Moyne Shire s contribution and support and the nature of funding, e.g. the Festival and Event Funding. 3. Recognise Moyne Shire at any festival, event or activity and provide invitations to the Moyne Shire Councillors. IMPLEMENTATION 1. The community group receiving Festival and Event Funding is required to acknowledge the Moyne Shire as a funding contributor. 2. Any use of the Moyne Shire logo must be advised with the completion of the Moyne Shire Council Logo Use Permission Form.
