Jint Cmmissin Resurces (JCR) and Jint Cmmissin Internatinal (JCI) serve as leaders and partners in diverse charity initiatives that fcus n patient quality and safety imprvements. Our resurces and unique capabilities are making significant cntributins twards advancing scial welfare and imprving patient care thrughut the wrld. Hspital Acquired Infectins/Readmissins We wrked with nearly 50 hspitals acrss seventeen states t assist hspitals with a variety f patient safety initiatives. The prject identified, educated, and disseminated slutins that are expected t shw a 40% reductin in hspital-acquired cnditins and a 20% decrease in hspital readmissins. In Illinis alne, participating hspitals saw readmissins decline an average f 8% fr cngestive heart failure, pneumnia, and mycardial infarctin as a result f this initiative. This prject was funded by The Centers fr Medicare and Medicaid Services. Quality and Safety Radmap We develped a quality and safety radmap designed t help cmmunities. healthcare rganizatins identify and fcus n thse areas that pse the greatest risk t patient safety. This critical resurce was used by the gvernment f Rwanda t create a much-needed hspital quality versight functin. Hand Hygiene/Central Line Infectins We ffer a number f free resurces designed t bliterate the mst prevalent issues in healthcare rganizatins----- hand hygiene and central line infectins. In additin, we develped a resurce t educate patients abut surgical site infectins s that patients have a clear understanding f hw t prevent surgical site infectins befre they underg a prcedure. Medicatin Safety Medicatin recnciliatin is a vital prcess t avid medicatin errrs such as dsing errrs r drug interactins. Wrking with the Wrld Health Organizatin (WHO), we created a standard perating prcedure that helped hspitals arund the wrld significantly increase their medicatin recnciliatin rates, leading t safer patient care. Crrect-Site Surgery Sme estimate that the natinal incidence rate f wrng site surgery culd be as high as 40 per week. Wrking with the WHO, we develped a standard perating prcedure that cntributed t safer patient care arund the wrld by helping health care prviders identify ways in which patient care can be made safer. Antimicrbial Tlkit We ffer a free tlkit that prvides guidance t health care prviders building r lking t imprve their antimicrbial stewardship prgram (ASP). An effective ASP can imprve patient utcmes, reduce adverse events including mrbidity due t antibitic resistant pathgens and clstridium difficile. Increasing Patient and Family Invlvement We ffer a free framewrk fr increasing patient and family invlvement in varius levels f health care. Evidence is munting that greater patient engagement leads t faster recvery, better clinical utcmes, and greater patient safety. Patients wh are well infrmed are mre likely t have a psitive health care experience and can help them t navigate their time in a hspital in the mst effective and safe way pssible. We prvide Life Safety We ffer a cmplimentary resurce t health care rganizatins t design an effective interim life safety measure prgram t prvide a cmpletely safe envirnment fr all ccupants in the hspital at all times, and especially during times f cnstructin r repair. An effective life safety prgram can mitigate ptential untward fire and smke cnditins at times when features f life safety are deficient, cmprmised, remved frm service due t cnstructin, breakdwn/ repair, r maintenance. Best Practices We ffer a number f free resurces that disseminate best practices in areas such as reducing early elective deliveries and ventilatr-assciated pneumnia. Disaster Respnse and Recvery we ffer a number f free resurces t help hspitals respnd in the face f a disaster, including hw t supprt public shelters during a disaster. Transitins f Care We have a cmplimentary prgram t imprve transitins f care, which can help decrease adverse events, readmissins, and the assciated csts f health care.

Hand Hygiene Targeted Slutins Tl - We prvide the Hand Hygiene Targeted Slutins Tl (TST ) at n charge t JCI-accredited health care rganizatins t help imprve patient care and reduce health care-acquired infectins. Hundreds f millins f peple wrldwide are affected by these infectins every year that can lead t patient mrtality. The nline tl was develped by the Jint Cmmissin Center fr Transfrming Healthcare and is being used by JCIaccredited health rganizatins in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Eurpe. Pilt results shwed a 72% imprvement in hand hygiene practices and clinicians fund the TST t be effective and easy t use. The TST guides health care rganizatins thrugh an effective quality imprvement prject, prviding a step-by-step prcess t cllect baseline data, identify prblem areas, implement slutins tailred t their staff needs, and track hand hygiene imprvements. Users have access t real-time data analysis, training materials, and methds t chart prgress. HIV Initiatives We have a number f initiatives targeted t assist patients with HIV arund the glbe.
