Last summer we served more than 3,200 campers through week-long camps and nearly 5,900 campers through weekend retreats during the rest of the year. We fi nished our improvements to CTL-Will-A-Way, and we began a partnership with the Roosevelt Warm Springs Rehabilitation Institute to utilize CTL-Camp Dream. It is a great addition to our current campsites and has enabled us to meet demands for more programs. We have also expanded our family retreats to include camps for Georgia s Wounded Warriors and their families. Twenty years ago, we partnered with only seven nonprofit organizations. In 2011, we worked with more than 50 Camp Partners to make camp happen for so many children. We continue to strengthen our network of Camp Partners through workshops, roundtable discussions, and a dedicated team of CTL Camp Directors who work directly with our Camp Partners. Camp Twin Lakes is often called on as a national model to help shape the work and impact of camps like ours across the country. In 2011, our development efforts continued to flourish. We exceeded our fundraising goals and have set even higher goals for Spin for Kids hosted more riders and raised more funds than ever before, and Partners Card expanded its card-selling retail network, which allowed the program to sell 400 more cards than the previous year. We celebrate the fact that, since our inception, CTL continues to subsidize 80 percent of the costs per camper at camp with our Camp Partners covering the remaining camp costs. We look ahead to this year with overwhelming excitement as we prepare to celebrate 20 years of Camp Twin Lakes! From seven Camp Partners to more than 50 today, from one year-round campsite to now three, and most importantly, more than 40,000 children have experienced lifechanging camp programs over these past 20 years. We know this is only the beginning for Camp Twin Lakes as we embark on a new era with the primary goal of helping children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges. We are grateful for all that you have done to help us reach this 20th Anniversary milestone, and we look forward to continued support from you as we move forward. Eric M. Robbins Executive Director Lawrence Kenny President, Board of Directors Camp Twin Lakes is a network of camps providing life-changing camp experiences to thousands of Georgia s children facing serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges each year. We collaborate with more than 50 different nonprofi t organizations, our Camp Partners, each serving a different population to create customized programs that teach our campers to overcome obstacles and grow in their confi dence and capabilities. Camp Twin Lakes is thrilled to provide programs at various state-of-the-art, medically-supportive, fully-accessible locations throughout the state of Georgia, including camps in Rutledge, Winder, Warm Springs, children s hospitals, and more.

3 Camp Twin Lakes Campsites CTL-Rutledge In March of 2011, Camp Twin Lakes received the single largest grant in The Imlay s history. This generous grant funded a new, state-of-the-art, zero-entry swimming pool at CTL-Rutledge. The Imlay Family Pool was completed just in time for our 2011 summer camp season. CTL also received six new aquatic wheelchairs to support its accessible swimming program thanks to grants from The Fragile Kids and Kids II. CTL-Rutledge also expanded its farm program in 2011, which has enhanced CTL s overall environmental immersion programming. The on-site farm allows Jeffrey Hinkle, Chef Manager, and his staff the opportunity to introduce more organic, local produce into the meals. In addition to providing fresh produce, the farm also serves as an educational and therapeutic hands-on learning experience for campers; providing the opportunity to understand where their food comes from and a chance to reconnect them with the land. Other improvements around CTL-Rutledge included remodeling of the Medical Lodge s upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms, remodeling of Media Center bathrooms, and new HVAC systems in the Arts & Crafts building and Medical Lodge. Thanks to Hemophilia of Georgia, we also have a new sound system in the Turtle Cove Amphitheater, a new disc golf course, a giant swing next to Lake Selig, and two water mister systems for cooling off at the Skip Caray Ballfi eld. CTL also has a new mobile planetarium thanks to SAP, and there are many other programmatic additions around camp. CTL-Will-A-Way Located in Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, 2011 marked the third year of operation for CTL-Will-A-Way. In 2011, CTL-Will-A-Way served more than 4,200 campers and volunteers, fi lled every bed for 10 weeks of summer camp, and hosted more than 40 weekend programs during the spring and fall. In 2011, CTL completed the Ever Higher Capital Campaign, which provided much-needed renovations and construction, including the addition of a 10,000 square foot Welcome Center complete with an air conditioned gymnasium that houses a theatrical stage, as well as gym games like basketball and volleyball. CTL-Will-A-Way has a new large parking area and entry drive that improved the ease of camper drop off and increased the safety of all our campers. Thanks to so many generous donors and volunteers, CTL-Will-A-Way has many additional improvements such as new fi re pits in the teepees, a new animal farm, bouldering wall, puppet theater, a Kids II wheelchair-accessible remote control racecar track, bocce court and lawn game area, a new shade cover for the fishing dock, a flagstone entry area to the Dining Hall, a Kids II wheelchair-accessible hayride wagon, a brand new Pharmacy for dispensing medicines, a new fl agpole area, and much, much more! CTL-Camp Dream Photo: In 2011, CTL began operating its third overnight campsite in partnership with the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation. CTL-Camp Dream provided recreational opportunities during our summer session. The CTL-Camp Dream site has the capacity to host up to 100 campers. CTL campers enjoyed water activities such as boating, canoeing, paddle boating, and fi shing on Lake Dream. There is also an indoor bowling alley and ceramics room. In 2011, CTL added a new ropes course and a 200-foot zip line to the existing campsite. CTL-Camp Dream is the home of CTL s Wounded Warrior programs, which served 207 soldiers and their families with therapeutic and recreational activities. The injuries sustained by soldiers ranged from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, craniofacial reconstruction, and sleep disorders. The Wounded Warriors program provided counseling and coping skills, while bonding the entire family through adaptive sports, games, crafts, and outdoor programs. 3

5 Funding Providing a high-quality and life-changing week of camp for a child with serious medical needs or other challenges is an expensive undertaking shared between Camp Twin Lakes and its 56 Camp Partners. Camp Twin Lakes subsidizes 80 percent of the cost per camper at camp the equivalent of $800 per camper for a week of camp. Camp Partners cover the remaining camp costs in addition to extra costs related to staffing, transportation, and the recruitment of campers. Camp Twin Lakes has not increased the Camp Partner program fee since opening our doors in Additionally, CTL is grateful to the many doctors, nurses, and other medical staff who volunteer their time and expertise to ensure the highest quality of medical care for our campers. We are also appreciative of our 3,500+ committed volunteers who provide support for CTL s camp programs and community events.
