! 1 WELCOME TO VIDYARD The explosion of online video has created both great challenges and terrific opportunities for marketers. If you're creating marketing videos, chances are you're also looking for a way to measure their impact on revenue. Vidyard is ready to help you transform viewers into customers by helping you make the most of your video assets. What is Vidyard? Vidyard s Video Marketing Platform gives marketers the ability to host their video content while providing deep video analytics and built-in marketing tools. Beyond tracking your video s total number of views, Vidyard reveals who s watching your content, and for how long with detailed viewer analytics and engagement data. We give you all the details you need to enable your sales team with more qualified leads. With Vidyard, you can embed a video in your website with a branded player, view real time attention span data, share videos to social networks (including full YouTube channel management), create calls to action, split-test your splash screens, and pump all of your data directly into your marketing automation contact records. We deliver an outstanding video marketing platform that allows you to see exactly how viewers interact with your content so that you can amplify, modify, and improve your video marketing based on measurable criteria. What is a Player? Chapter? Video? Understanding the differences between a player, chapter and video will help you navigate the Vidyard platform. Players Before a video can be hosted on the Vidyard platform, a player must be created. Each player is a stand-alone container for storing and playing video content. Think of your player as a shell or enclosure that contains videos, which are stored as chapters. This is an example of a Vidyard Player. Shown are the media controls (play/pause button, time slider, volume, HD toggle and full screen toggle), as well as an embed button to allow visitors

! 2 to embed your video elsewhere and a share button to share the player on social networks. A player can have multiple chapters contained within it. In this scenario, Player 1 has one chapter. Player 2 has four chapters. The player can be embedded on a webpage or shared via social media. Each player has embed code that is unique to that player. The embed code allows you to insert the player into your website. You can create a new player by logging into the Vidyard dashboard and clicking the New Player button. Videos can be added to a player in four different ways: 1) Upload a video from your computer 2) Add a previously uploaded video 3) Choose a video from YouTube Chapters A chapter is a segment of a player. A single player can have one or more chapters, and additional chapters can be added to a player at any time without having to re-embed the player in your website. A player will play all of its chapters in sequence. When editing a player, you can add or remove chapters, or change the order in which the chapters are played.

! 3 Videos A video is the source video content that you wish to share online to your potential clients and community. Vidyard allows you to upload your own videos, or add a YouTube video to your players. They are stored inside the player as chapters, ready to be played. Videos that have previously been uploaded to Vidyard can also be added to multiple players. How Are Video Views Tracked? In order to provide granular, user-based analytics Vidyard uses a browser technology (localstorage or browser cookies depending upon how new the browser is) to track content viewers. The first time a viewer loads a Vidyard Player, we assign them a generated ID. This ID is then sent with each analytics update to our servers in order to track the individual viewers who have watched your content. Browsers allow us to save this generated ID so that future viewing sessions from this viewer can be associated to the same generated ID. On the backend, these generated IDs are used by Vidyard to associate a user's viewing data with user metadata such as address or location when analytics data is reported. You can use the Analytics Center to filter analytics by address or location and get a list of individual level attention spans (or heat maps) spanning multiple viewing sessions by a user on a single video. These generated IDs also allow us to report on 'unique views' by showing the number of distinct generated IDs (unique viewers) that have watched part of a given player as opposed to the total number of viewing sessions for a given player. Browser and Mobile Compatibility Vidyard supports a variety of browsers across multiple platforms for both the Vidyard Dashboard and the Vidyard Player. When troubleshooting browser related issues, it may be necessary to confirm a supported browser is in use. Vidyard Dashboard browser support IE 7+ Chrome (Current, Current - 1.0) Safari (Current) Firefox (Current, Current - 1.0) Opera (Current, Current - 1.0) Note: Current 1 or Current denotes that Vidyard supports the current stable version of the browser and the version preceding it. Disabled Viewers will not be asked for any details before the content is played. This is the default setting. Optional Viewers are asked for an address; however, they can decline to provide one by clicking a link to skip the process. New Contact Viewers are required to enter an address, but will not be prompted again once they have provided their address. This is an example of an optional gate that will appear for everyone trying to watch the video. Viewers can click the link to Skip entering your to see the content without providing an address When a visitor fills in an gate, Vidyard will record their profile in the Analytics Center in the Filter option. This allows you to export the addresses of anyone who has watched your content, and break it down by the individual video for a specific campaign. Once Vidyard knows their address, their browser cache (cookies) is tagged so all future views can be associated with their individual profile. With CRM and MAP integrations, Vidyard will work with the individual level tracking of viewers that these systems have on your website and will only populate the gate if they are an unknown contact in your database. 43 ! 40 CALLS TO ACTION Turning a regular video into powerful content and a lead generation tool is easy with Vidyard. One of the most popular ways to do this is by adding a Call-to-Action (CTA) to your video. CTAs come in two forms: 1) Popout CTAs that slide out beside the video while it is playing. 2) A Final CTA that is displayed when the video is complete. You have control of what is displayed in a CTA. You can include: Lead generation forms Links to related content Content with information related to the video such as descriptions or images This allows you to keep viewers moving forward through your content on a path that you control. It also stops them from straying off the path, which can happen if they are allowed to click out of your content or be lead away by ads or related videos that aren t yours. Create a Popout CTA A popout CTA allows you to display supplemental content at a configurable point in your video. To create a popout CTA, complete the following steps: 1) Log into Vidyard. 2) Scroll to the My Players section. 3) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to add a CTA to. 4) Navigate to the video you would like to add the CTA to. 5) In the Advanced menu, click Popout CTA. 6) Click Add to create your CTA.

! 41 7) Configure the popout CTA: Start time and duration. Width of the CTA. Check if CTA should close at end of video. 8) Populate the CTA with your content using the CTA Builder or using your own code using the Source button. Create a Final CTA A final CTA will can be displayed at the end of your player. The final CTA can display additional content to the viewer, redirect them to another location, loop the player or show the splash screen again. To create a final CTA, complete the following steps: 1) Log into the Vidyard dashboard 2) Scroll to the My Players section. 3) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to add the CTA to. 4) In the Final Call to Action section, you can choose the action you would like to take when a video is complete: Show Call to Action Loop Playback Show Splashscreen 5) If you select Show Call to Action, you can choose the following options:

! 42 Redirect to another page: This option will redirect the user to another page. Enter the URL to redirect to and select if the page should be redirected or opened inside the player. Create your own Call to Action: By creating your own call to action, you can display contact information, link to additional content or even embed a form from your favorite Marketing Automation Platform (MAP). Using the CTA Builder The Vidyard CTA Builder provides a quick and easy way to populate your popout and final CTAs with little to no development experience. You can use the builder to drag and drop elements into your CTA including text labels, forms and social media sharing buttons. You can access the CTA Builder when using either the popout or final CTA editors. Once open, the CTA Builder allows you to drag and drop various elements to create your own CTA.

! 43 Use the Big Text and Normal Text elements to create custom labels for contact information or other details. Use the Button element to create a hyperlink to a URL. Use the Form feature to add custom fields and a submit button. Data from submitted forms will be ed to the account owner. Use the Social Media sharing button to configure a URL to be shared on various social networks. Embed MAP Forms Many Marketing Automation Platforms (MAPs) and CRMs allow you to create forms that can be embedded outside of MAP hosted pages. These forms can be embedded in Vidyard CTAs allowing you to provide a form to viewers while they are watching or when they complete a video. This allows you to generate leads when they are at peak interest and most likely to convert. To add a MAP or CRM form to a Vidyard CTA: 1) Copy the form code from your MAP or CRM. 2) When adding content to your CTA select Source mode. 3) Paste the form code into the CTA window. 4) If you wish, you can further format the form styling or add additional elements to the CTA. 5) Save the CTA as per the standard configuration procedure.

! 44 Video Hubs Now that you have players stocked with amazing videos, you re ready to play them for your potential customers and show them the value of your business. What you need is a great way to display those videos and make sure they have a simple way to view the rest of your video library. You need Vidyard s Video Hub. Video hub is the best way to share your Vidyard videos without the risk of your viewers being distracted by videos or ads from other companies. Visitors to your video hub are provided with a branded page to view your Vidyard Player with the option to comment and browse the rest of your video library. Vidyard allows you to create a video hub with no development background. The process can be broken down into three parts: 1) Create and configure a new video hub 2) Choose the available players 3) Customize the look of your video hub Create and configure a new video hub A video hub can be created in the Vidyard dashboard by completing the following steps: 1) Log into the Vidyard dashboard at 2) In the top-right corner, click Advanced 3) Click Video Hubs 4) Click the New Video Hub button. You can also edit existing hubs from here by clicking the Edit button next to the hub you wish to change. 5) Enter a name and description into the appropriate fields. 6) Choose a subdomain for visitors to access your video hub.

! 45 Note: For a more consistent brand experience, you can create a subdomain CNAME record for your domain pointing to hubs.vidyard.com. Visitors to your subdomain will be directed to your video hub hosted by Vidyard while preventing them from seeing the Vidyard domain name. 7) Configure the additional options: Enable search box: Determine if the search bar is visible on your video hub Show related videos: Determines if your other players are displayed on the video hub. Allow comments: Adds a Disqus thread to each of your players Allow downloads: Choose if visitors can download your videos to their local machines Enable embedding: Adds an embed button allowing visitors to embed your players on their site. Enable social sharing buttons: Determines if buttons to share your hub on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. Player Management: Choose whether all players in the Vidyard account will be available in the hub or if players will be selected on the player tab. 8) Configure Social Feeds Enter the URLs for your organization's social media pages. These will appear as buttons in the top corner of the hub. You ve now successfully created your first video hub. Once your video hub has been created, you ll need to choose what Vidyard Players are going to be included.

! 46 Choose the available players Click on the Players tab to choose what videos are visible in your hub. Note: In order to choose players for your hub, the Player Management setting must be set to "Select Specific Players" on the Settings tab. 1) Create a category by clicking the Add a Category button. 2) Give a name to the category. 3) Select how players will be added to the category. There are two options: a. Choose specific players - Gives you the option to choose which players are assigned to the category. b. Automatically assign by tags - All players with a specified tag will be added to the category automatically.

! 47 4) Select the players that are assigned to your categories by clicking the Edit Players or Edit Tags button. Choosing a featured player: Some video hub themes support selecting a featured player. Depending on the theme, this player will usually receive a prominent location on the hub landing page. Choose a featured player by hovering over the players added to your hub. At this point, you have now created and populated a Vidyard Video Hub. You can send the address out in your marketing material and watch the views roll in. If you would prefer to customize the look of your video hub, you can do so with the help of the next section.

! 48 Customize the look of your Video Hub The look of your Vidyard Video Hub can be branded to your preference through the use of a customizable logo and some HTML and CSS know-how. To begin customizing the look of your video hub, click the Design tab. 1) Choose the page layouts for your hub by clicking on the page type. Front Page: The page that is first displayed when someone visits your video hub. Search Result: The page displayed when a visitor performs a search. Watch Player: The page displayed when a visitor selects a video to watch. 2) Upload a logo by clicking the Upload Logo button. 3) Edit the appearance using HTML and CSS by clicking the Launch Editor button. You can use the video hub editor to modify the header and footer of your video hub page. You can also use CSS to override any of the style classes that exist on the page. When using the editor, changes to your video hub are previewed in real-time. These changes are not permanent until you click the Save button.

! 49 Once you ve saved your changes, you re ready to begin sharing your customized video hub with the world.!

! 50 SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION Search Engine Optimization or SEO is the utilization of various methods to promote and improve a web site and its contents with the purpose of increasing the number of visitors that come from search engines. To ensure multimedia content, such as videos, are properly indexed, a XML sitemap can be created. This allows search engines to learn about your content and include it in their search results. Sitemaps can be created manually and hosted on your website, however, Vidyard provides a method to create them automatically. Configure Your Sitemap Before you can add videos to a sitemap, you need to configure your robots.txt file to point search agents to your sitemap. If you do not have a robots.txt file, you can create one. You can learn more about robots.txt at the following location: To set up a video sitemap in Vidyard: 1) Click the Advanced menu. 2) Scroll down to the Video Sitemap for Video SEO section. 3) Enter the URL of your website where your robots.txt file resides. This is typically located in the root directory of your website.

! 51 4) Add the provided line to your robots.txt file. 5) Once you have added this line to the robots.txt file, click the Verify button. Add a Player to Your Sitemap Adding videos to a sitemap allows search engines to index your multimedia content and adds contextual information, such as the title, length and description, of your video library that can generate search results pointing to your website. To add Vidyard players to your sitemap, complete the following steps: 1) Click the Edit button next to the player you wish to add to your sitemap. 2) Click the Add to Video Sitemap button. 3) Add the URL of your player s embed location and click Save.

! 52 ANALYTICS CENTER What is the Analytics Center? When measuring the effectiveness of your video assets, the Vidyard Analytics Center provides you with data about all of your Vidyard players in one location allowing you to view detailed reporting. Accessing the Analytics Center 1) Log into your Vidyard account at 2) At the top of the screen, click Analytics. This section will describe some of the data you can find in the Analytics Center, and how you can use that data to make decisions about your video marketing campaign. Header The header provides you with key metrics at-a-glance about all of your Vidyard players. You can quickly see the following information: Number of views Number of unique views Minutes watched Most popular viewing region You can use the information in the header to provide a quick, high-level overview of how well your video assets are performing to groups outside of your marketing department. The numbers look great in presentations and the most popular region shows you if you are hitting your key geographic market. Export to CSV You can export your viewership data to a CSV file for viewing outside of the Analytics Center. Data can be exported using any of the filters available and is presented as a list of values inside the CSV. Using Filters The Vidyard Analytics Center allows you to filter the data you are viewing based on a number of criteria. You can use the filter to include results based on the following criteria:

! 53 Player: View data for a particular player. If the player has multiple chapters, view data is cumulated for all chapters within the player. Chapter: View data for a particular chapter within a player. At least one player must be selected before a chapter can be selected. Data Type: Choose whether data is reported for all views or unique views only. Embed Location: If a player is embedded in multiple locations, you can view data for a particular location allowing you to track the effectiveness of one location over another. Geography: Track viewership data from a particular country to observe how your content is doing around the world. s: Select one or more addresses to observe viewership data specific to those users. This data can be used to track the engagement of the recipients of a targeted marketing campaign. Date Range: Select the date range over which the reporting should cover. You can use this filter to compare your data month to month or view all data within the last year. Careful tracking of your data over time will help you determine when it s time to refresh your content. General Data The general data section displays more detailed month-to-month metrics about your viewership. The Visitors graph, by default, will show the number of views for all of your players. You can use the data presented in the views graph to trend your views over the month to see drop-off rates for your videos, or how effective a marketing campaign is at driving views of your videos. Did you recently share a player on social media? You can use this graph to track your influence by determining how many of your friends and followers view your content.

! 54 The Show Views by Player checkbox at the top-right of the graph will break out the graph by player allowing you to see each player in a consolidated view. Click the name of the player in the graph to remove it from the consolidated view. The Your Viewers section provides you with the following details: Current viewers Today s clickthrough rate All Time clickthrough Rate The Current Viewers count is updated in real-time and can be used to live monitor your viewership. You may want to watch this number to see the immediate impact after sharing a video over social media, or after a press release.
