14 Frequently Asked Questions Is specialist lending only for the credit impaired? No! Only 30% of our customers have some kind of credit blemish. In fact, the most common reason a customer will need a Pepper solution is due to unusual income such as casual or self-employed income. What is the key difference with Pepper s approach to assessing applications? Pepper undertakes a personalised approach to assessing home loans by manually assessing every application. This means no credit-scoring. Instead, we examine an applicant s individual circumstances because no two customers are the same! In addition, we self-insure so no third party LMI approval is required. How do I get accredited with Pepper? Your aggregator must submit an Request for Accreditation to origination@pepper.com.au, containing a confirmation of your membership along with some personal details for details go to pepperonline.com.au/financepartners/accreditation What is unlimited debt consolidation? Pepper will consider consolidating an unlimited number of personal debts and business debts (including ATO debts) under the Pepper Easy (Near Prime) and Pepper Advantage (Specialist) home loans provided there is a clear benefit to the client upon consolidating these debts. There is no limit to value of debts up to the customers approved lending limit. Note - If a client is looking to consolidate < or equal to 4 debts we can consider this client under Pepper Essential (Prime) What is unlimited credit impairment? We will consider unlimited impairment under our Pepper Easy (Near Prime) and Pepper Advantage (Specialist) products provided the client has demonstrated they have overcome the credit event that led the impairment to occur.
