WINS Configuration Microsoft have built a firewall into the Windows XP operating system. In certain enabled without you realising. Enabling and Disabling the Firewall To check whether the firewall is enabled, go to the [Start] menu and open the [Network Connections] control panel (you may first need to open the [Network category.)
