2 An Oxford MBA for Africa s Social Entrepreneurs In partnership with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, the Oxford Skoll Scholar Program is a full tuition plus living stipend award for African social entrepreneurs wishing to scale their ventures and pursue a one year MBA at Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, starting in September Dr. Brennan South Africa, HEA 12 University of Oxford

3 Embedded within the University of Oxford, the Skoll Centre at Saïd Business School is a leading academic entity for the advancement of social entrepreneurship worldwide. Founded in 2003 with a generous grant from the Skoll Foundation in Palo Alto, the Skoll Centre s mission is to demonstrate and accelerate the impact of entrepreneurial activity that aims to transform unjust or unsatisfactory systems and practices. We do this by: - cultivating talent and emerging leadership: we offer world-class graduate education that provides students with the vision and skills to bring together marketbased approaches and social innovation - supporting actionable insight through research: we generate research that contributes to the theory of social entrepreneurship and its practical applications to address critical global challenges whilst developing and supporting a network of academics and practitioners to disseminate this knowledge globally - catalysing deep exchanges with a global community of innovators: we connect social entrepreneurs with thought leaders and key players in business, government, and philanthropy to enhance social impact. 5 - Born in Africa and/or current passport holders of an African country - Candidates must have started and grown a social venture that has been legally constituted for at least 3 years; OR, they have spearheaded and led a major and successful expansion of an existing social venture or program within that organization over the last 3 years - Demonstrate how a business education can contribute to the wider development of the community within which they work. They will need to illustrate why a business degree at this stage of their career trajectory can help them amplify their impact - Arrange to have official university transcripts, letters of recommendation and standardized test scores arrive at the University of Oxford by the appropriate application deadline - Candidates must apply and be admitted to both Harambe and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford - Candidates must complete online HEA Application by December 30, 2015: - Candidates must complete online Saïd Business School Application by January 8, 2016: - Scholarship recipient will receive notification by June 24, 2016
