2 IT ALL COMES DOWN TO EXPERIENCE ICT is everywhere. It has become an integral part of our lives. In a world How can professionals continue to grow in order to be ready for all the new challenges they will face? of ever-accelerating change, it is difficult to determine what it takes to be a good ICT professional. How can a professional continue to grow in order to be ready for all the new challenges they will face? In order to identify the competences of ICT professionals, the European Commission encouraged the development of a useful tool: the e-competence Framework (e-cf). This frame of reference consists of 40 e-competences on five different levels that play an important role in, and in relation to, ICT. A list of these e-competences is provided on page 12. The e-cf is a common language that professionals can use to make their knowledge and skills transparent. Businesses can use the language to specify their requirements, while trainers can use it to fine-tune their programs. Since 1984, EXIN has been demonstrating its expertise to identify the competences of ICT professionals. Using the e-cf, it helps these professionals to develop their competences. In line with the e-cf, EXIN offers a variety of services that enable professionals to define their e-competences; these services range from an easy-to-perform self-scan to a fully independent certification. 1 2

3 EXIN WORKFORCE READINESS SELF-SCAN e-cf PROGRESS PYRAMID Professional Assessment Soft Skill Assessment The Self-Scan is a unique, interactive online service that enables you to quickly and easily get a rough idea of your main e-competences. Answering the questions takes only fifteen minutes. Based on your answers, you receive a report specifying your seven strongest competences and how they compare to standard job profiles. 4 EXIN WORKFORCE READINESS SELF-ASSESSMENT The Self-Assessment is an extension of the Self-Scan. It specifies your levels in each of the 40 e-competences comprising the e-cf (five levels). Every aspect of the e-cf is covered in a series of additional questions. Based on your answers to these questions, an estimate is made of your e-cf level in relation to the full range of e-competences. Knowing your level in each of the e-competences enables you to see exactly where you are at now, and what your points for improvement are. In this way, you can decide which of your e-competences you would like to develop. 5 6

5 This information helps you to determine where your abilities and main potential for development lie EXIN WORKFORCE READINESS SOFT SKILL ASSESSMENT The Soft Skill Assessment is a thorough online psychological test that assesses your ICT-related soft skills and personal characteristics. Answering the questions takes no more than an hour. Based on your answers, you receive a detailed report containing three different analyses of your soft skills. This information helps you to determine where your abilities and main potential for development lie. 7 8
