4 ANSI/BIFMA e3-2011e FURNITURE SUSTAINABILITY STANDARD - level 1 HBF's production facilities, organizational policies and component materials of the products themselves have met all of the necessary qualifications to comply with the industry's most comprehensive furniture sustainability standard. level 1 is the multi-attribute, sustainability standard and third-party certification program for the furniture industry. It has been created to deliver the most open and transparent means of evaluating and communicating the environmental and social impacts of furniture products in the built environment. Taking into account a company's social actions, energy usage, material selection and human and ecosystem health impacts, level addresses how a product is sustainable from multiple perspectives. With level, customers can make informed choices about commercial furniture that exceed single attribute eco-certifications. The level brand identifies that a product has been vetted by an independent third party certifier and its numeric marking 1, 2 or 3 indicates what threshold of certification it has achieved. By integrating recycled, rapidly renewable and natural materials, into our processes when possible; HBF supports our mission to serve our clients needs while improving the environment. RECYCLED MATERIALS HBF uses Green-Blend panel materials wherever possible. Green-Blend panel material cores are produced with no added urea formaldehyde and contribute towards LEED Rapidly Renewable Materials and Recycled Content credits. Green-Blend is SCS certified 100% pre-consumer recycled wood fiber panel material that has no ureaformaldehyde added during the manufacturing process. It combines low emission standards, certified recycled content and sustainable raw materials with the reliability of a proven industry track record of wood based panel material. HBF LUMBER HBF uses lumber sourced from woodlands in the Northern Appalachian and Alleghany Mountains. All lumber is harvested under strict government supervision, adhering to sound forestry practices. HBF consciously partners with vendors that adhere to environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable standards. Some HBF products are available with FSC certified materials. UPHOLSTERY POLY FOAM All HBF Textiles upholstery products utilize poly foam that is chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) free. Preserve HR foam products are also incorporated into many HBF products. Preserve HR is soy bio-based high-resilience foam with bio-base content and recycled polyester. LEAN MANUFACTURING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT Lean manufacturing is an integral part of the HBF and HBF Textile process for eliminating waste and minimizing our environmental impact. Lean seeks to eliminate waste from every business process. Lean drives continuous

6 improvement and provides ongoing opportunity to implement new environmentally conscious alternatives to traditional methods. METAL RESOURCES AND FINISHING HBF utilizes a powder coat finish or brushed/polished aluminum parts for the majority of our exposed metal components. Decorative metals used in manufacturing are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified to ensure minimal impact on the indoor environment. Brushed aluminum and die cast aluminum components are 100% recyclable and contain recycled content. WOOD FINISHING EMISSIONS HBF monitors and maintains low emissions of hazardous air pollutants. HBF has achieved small source status for air emissions as well as GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification for the majority of its products. DISPOSAL OF WOOD FINISHING WASTE AND WOOD WASTE Liquid waste from our wood finishing process is sent offsite to be fuel blended and used by cement kilns. Solid waste is also sent offsite to generate electricity. Most sawdust and some wood waste are used as industrial boiler fuel by third parties. RECYCLING OF SCRAP MATERIAL HBF and HBF Textiles embrace recycling in our daily procedures. Fabric and leather short ends are not discarded but are incorporated into our sampling process. Packaging components, cardboard, Dacron, scrap steel and wood, florescent lights, office paper, aluminum and plastic containers are all recycled internally or by an outside source. 26. 10 HBF Seating Order Procedure Coverings All upholstered items may be ordered using HBF Textiles, HBF Leathers, Edelman Leather, or coverings furnished by the customer. Prices listed as refer to Customer s Own Material. Prices listed as refer to Customer s Own Leather. Prices listed as GRADE refer to HBF Textiles, HBF Leathers and Edelman Leather Yardage requirements shown in the price list are based on non-directional 54 material. The following conversion chart should be used to determine requirements when is 54 wide or less and has a repeat of 2 or more. Add together the vertical and horizontal repeat to determine which column should be used as a reference. 11 HBF Seating Order Procedure Standard Vertical Application The standard application of fabrics with stripes, vines or floral patterns is vertical. When specifying upholstery fabrics with any of these designs, the application direction must be noted on all purchase orders and a sketch indicating the direction of application must accompany the purchase order. Combination of Upholstery Applications All seating ordered with combination of upholstery applications (fabric, leather) is subject to a $95 List upcharge in addition to the following pricing conditions: 1. Combinations using HBF Textiles and will be priced at the price. HBF Textiles will be entered as a separate order and invoiced separately. 2. Combinations using HBF Textiles and HBF Leathers or Edelman Leather, or and HBF Leathers or Edelman Leather, will be priced at the appropriate -V or -12 price. 3. Combinations using HBF Textiles and, two s, or and, will be priced at the price. HBF Textiles will be entered as a separate order and invoiced separately. 4. Combinations using two HBF Textiles will be invoiced at higher grade price. Contrast Welt Contrast Welt is only available on products that are offered with welt as an integral part of the design. Standard with Welt is noted in the price list description of each individual applicable product. All welts are cut standard on the bias. Adding welt or contrast welt to other HBF seating products is not an option. 12 HBF Seating Order Procedure Veneer and Finishes The following slip matched veneers are available with the finish options as shown below. Wood owes its inherent beauty to variations in color, grain, and texture; therefore, these variations are not considered defects. Due to the natural color and grain variances of wood substance the final finish color, texture and grain may vary from one furniture piece to another even though they are finished at the same time. Exposure to light and the aging process will cause changes in surface color of natural wood products. Light finishes on wood products do not mask the natural characteristics of wood. HBF does not guarantee the exact matching of grain, pattern and color. 23 HBF Side Conference Seating Nest Side Conference Seating Specifications Wood Species Metal Base Woven Mesh Maple frame and legs available in all standard HBF finishes on maple in addition to custom colors. Frame and legs also offered in Blanco White painted finish. The elliptical tubular metal base is standard in a polished stainless steel finish with an optional self-return swivel mechanism. A semi-translucent polyester woven mesh is standard on the back of Nest Chairs. This 3D mesh material is an integral part of the design of the chair and alternate materials cannot be specified for the back upholstery. This woven mesh material may also be specified for seat upholstery, either in the same color as the back or in a complementary color. The seat may also be specified in any upholstery fabric or leather. This material is currently available in seven standard colors with additional colors in development. Color selection must be noted on order for each line item. Smoke Graphite Lime Chalk Brick Stone Linen Tested for dimensional stability and load-bearing capacity, this material functions as a self-supporting surface for the chair back, and has passed ACT standards for flammability, colorfastness and physical properties as well as surpassing an abrasion test of 70,000 double rubs. Welt Seat Material Notes Welt is standard on Nest seating and available in seven colors that complement each of the woven mesh options. Welt color is determined by color of mesh specified on the order. Complementing or contrasting seating upholstery may be specified in any fabric or leather available from HBF Textiles as well as or. All HBF Textiles products are graded into the List price as shown in this price list. (When specifying leather from HBF Textiles a one-hide minimum per order per colorway is required.)
