4 4 Mobility at Harris County Harris County Regional Radio With partnerships throughout the region focusing on interoperability there are: 62 Radio tower sites 950 Departments 65,000+ Radios 178 Interlocal agreements covering over 52k square miles

5 5 Mobility at Harris County Harris County Public Safety Broadband Partnered with the State of Texas for the Waver of Interoperability with the FCC Supporting the national effort for the public safety broadband/long Term Evolution Live streaming video to and from fixed and mobile devices provide increased situational awareness In the field crime scene data and report capture will allow law enforcement to process and share critical information to back office systems Large data files such as building and plant schematics can be retrieved over the network providing on scene resources with critical information Video analytics can be leveraged to automate security camera monitoring and implement scripted notifications and deployment of resources Telemedicine becomes more useful by providing richer in transit patients vital statistics and video to doctors And beyond

6 6 Mobility at Harris County Mobile Application Approach Provide Harris County citizens and employees access to key applications through a variety of mobile devices. Use a single platform with the ability to deploy multiple apps that are device agnostic (the MEAP approach-mobile Enterprise Application Platform). Provided Harris County ability to reach to multiple end user platforms Saves development time by allowing staff to develop the applications one time Develops native applications for each platform allowing the apps to use native functionalities such as GPS, multi-touch screens and device specific capabilities Ease of use for the end user Able to deploy multiple apps on a single infrastructure allowing for cost savings and strategic advantage Able to support more than one type of mobile device and operating system without having to maintain separate sets of code Faster development to market time due to reduced need for writing code applications are configuration generated Ability to centrally managed mobile applications; Harris County MALL

On-Line Directory directory listing of Harris County employees that provides contact information with search capabilities Service Requests submit service requests such as road repair issues to a central support team. Civil Process and Citation application to allow HC Constables to track their civil citations delivery. ebranch- Library Services that provide; Reference librarians available all day, everyday via QuestionPoint 24/7 Chat and the Ask A Librarian service. 14,000 ebook and eaudio titles that can be checked out on your PC, ipad, Kindle, Nook or Android device wherever there s an internet connection The Bookmyne app that allows you find the nearest library, search the HCPL catalog and place requests right from your Apple ipad or iphone.
