10 STRATEGIC FIELD OF ACTION #3 «REGENERATIVE MEDICINE AND BIOMATERIALS»: SYNTHETIC PRESENTATION SCOPE Regenerative medicine is an emerging therapeutic strategy, aimed at repairing a lesion or a sick organ by replacing injured or sick cells with stem cells or gene therapy. Regeneration can take place in situ by the simulation of damaged organs, or in the laboratory by tissue engineering. This includes gene therapy, somatic cell therapy, products derived from tissue engineering, and biomaterials. Veterinary medicaments and purely pharmacological molecules are out of this scope. A bank of mutated cell lines issued from embryos carrying monogenic disease has also been established. This bank represented one of the most important cell bank worldwide. 3. Concept of pathologic model from mutated cell line for the research of biomarkers has been validated. 4. AbCell Bio developed a serum-free medium for the culture of endothelial cell lines derived from hes cells. 5. ATL developed a chip to evaluate the onco-hematologic cytogenicity for the control of hematopoietic cell lines 6. ATL laboratory formulated cell culture media for the sperm preparation, fecondation and early ebryonic development, as well as for the extend culture of embryo leading to a better quality of the blastocyste.
