Positions Internal Current Openings as of December 2, 2013 OPEN Positions External PE Position: Billing Specialist Status: Open Patient Billing Position Summary: Under indirect supervision, implement the revenue cycle using the billing status workflow process to ensure timely submission of claims, mailing of statements and subsequent payment to KPHC. Minimum Requirement(s): Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of ICD-CPT coding, Knowledge of Dental procedure coding, Knowledge of Practice Management System preferred, Accurate, neat and able to complete tasks in a timely manner, Able to work alone and with initiative. Education: High school graduate, CPC or equivalent years of experience. Experience: Minimum 5 years health billing experience. OPEN Positions Internal / Position: Community Health Worker (Marshallese) - OnCall Status: OPEN Social Services Position Summary: Provide case management, outreach, and health education and interpretation services. Assist in training students in the health professions and health care professionals regarding cultural issues and health care. Serve as an advocate for appropriate, quality health and social services. Minimum Requirement(s): Education: Certification as a professional translator preferred but not required. Certification as a professional community health worker preferred but not required. High School Diploma or GED required. Post-secondary education preferred. Experience: Experience in providing bicultural and bilingual services. Formal training in medical terminology preferred but not required. Formal training as a community health worker preferred. 2 Positions Internal / Position: Executive Assistant/Clinic Operations Ext Open Date: 10/4/13 Administration Position Summary: Enhance the effectiveness of the Executive Team by providing timely information and management support. Provide administrative support by compiling data, preparing reports, and editing reports. Read, research, and summarize information for the Executives and Director of Operations (DOC). Review documents and records required for credentialing and privileging of licensed staff and coordinate activities to ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement (QA/QI) plan. Review documents and records required for certification, accreditation, and licensure. Coordinate activities to ensure compliance with the QA/QI plan. Assist the DOC with monitoring, reporting, and presentation of clinical and operations data. Assist with document management. This position requires professionalism, confidentiality, and loyalty to Kalihi-Palama Health Center s mission. Minimum Requirement(s): Education: Bachelor s degree. Experience: 5 year of relevant experience in similar role in a comparable organization. Demonstrated ability to deliver desired results. Skills/Knowledge: Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Position: Supervisor Status: 10/28/13 Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer, the Supervisor is responsible for organizing, monitoring and supervising facility operations. The Supervisor oversees repairs, maintenance, security and general operations for all KPHC buildings and facilities. Minimum Requirement(s): Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and other regulatory, safety and compliance standards. Knowledge of operations, services and activities related to facility maintenance, repair and security. Knowledge of inventory control and distribution procedures. General computer skills, including word processing and database applications. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Education: Minimum two (2) years of increasing facility maintenance experience. Minimum one year in a supervisory role. Experience in health care industry preferred N Positions Internal / Position: Family Practice Physician (2) Status: OPEN to External Medicine Position Summary: Lead a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Team; provide health care services for adult and pediatric patients in accordance with the NCQA PCMH 2012 Standards. Provider may be required to provide prenatal care to obstetric patients on occasion. Minimum Requirement(s): Education: Graduate of Accredited medical school with Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree. Completion of residency in Family Medicine at an accredited US residency program. Participate in continuing education programs and maintain current BLS certification. Licensing/Certification: Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii. Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. Current Basic Life Support certification. Current DEA without restriction. Hawaii State Narcotics registration. PALS or NRP, ACLS may be required. Skills/Knowledge: Must be able to work with multiethnic and multi-cultural staff and clients. Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques. 3 pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette. Perform in a tactful and professional manner Position: General Services I (1) Closing Date: OPEN Position Summary: Perform a variety of routine maintenance and janitorial duties involving light to moderate physical effort and to keep KPHC main clinic and surrounding buildings in clean and orderly condition. Assist with deliveries, purchasing, and inventory control for organization. Minimum Requirement(s): Working knowledge of cleaning techniques and products required. Knowledge of inventory procedures, Ability to use MS Outlook and timekeeping software, High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous light industrial cleaning experience required. Previous experience cleaning medical facilities preferred. Position: Outreach Worker Status: OPEN HCHP Position Summary: Functions as the key linkage between homeless persons with mental illness and the HCHP and the AMHD ACCESS line. Acts as the primary liaison between the ACCESS line and the Community Based Case Management (CBCM) programs. Responds comprehensively to the needs of clients through outreach, referral, and case management. Minimum Requirement(s): Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Experience: Three (3) or more years experience in the human service field. Training in substance abuse / dual diagnosis preferred. Skills/Knowledge: Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good crisis intervention / de-escalation skills. Ability to operate a vehicle with valid HI driver s license. Ability to relate effectively to difficult clients, including mentally ill, chemically dependent, and other homeless individuals. Ability to work as a team player. Position: Payroll/Accounting Clerk Status: 10/28/13 Finance & Accounting Position Summary: To support accounting operations and payroll administration functions. Assist with financial reporting and maintenance of the general ledger system. Minimum Requirement(s): Education: AA Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 2 years Accounts Payable, Accounting or related experience. 3 years Payroll process or administration experience. Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of MS office including Excel and Word. Competency with general ledger accounting software or MAS90 preferred. Accurate, organized and able to complete tasks in a timely manner. Able to work independently with limited supervision. Knowledge of payroll systems, SaaS HR Online a plus. Position: Pharmacy Technician (On-Call Only) Status: OPEN Pharmacy Services Page 3 of 6

4 Position Summary: When called to work, this individual will act as Pharmacy Technician and cover the duties and responsibilities of a KPHC Pharmacy Technician under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist. This position is NOT eligible for benefits. Minimum Requirement(s): Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, Pharmacy technician certificate; or two years equivalent combination of education and experience, CPhT certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred. Position: Program Assistant Open Date: 10/13/13 General Medicine Position Summary: The person in this position shall be responsible in assisting and implementing the goals and objectives various health projects, including all breast and Cervical Cancer (BCCCP) activities of Kalihi Palama Health Center. Minimum Requirement(s): Education: High School diploma and Medical Assistant Certification required. One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current BCLS/CPR Certification required. Experience: Previous experience with basic computer systems and fluency in another language, other than English preferred. Basic medical terminology required. Skills/Knowledge: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and Interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Position: Quality, Safety, and Compliance Coordinator Status: 11/04/13 Position Summary: Under general direction of the Compliance Officer, this position will ensure that KPHC provides quality health and social services in a safe environment to our community while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Job duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to, QUALITY IMPROVEMENT (QIC Meetings, QI studies/research/recommendations), SAFETY (work injuries, safety and security trainings, MDSDS maintenance), COMPLIANCE (federal/ regulatory requirements, investigates issues concerning unethical and improper business practice, KPHC By-Laws and Compliance programs), and EMPLOYEE HEALTH (maintenance of employee health files/databases). Minimum Requirement(s): Skills/Knowledge: Must be able to work with multi-ethnic and multi-cultural staff and clients. Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques. Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette. Education: Registered Nurse or equivalent. Licensure as appropriate health professional in the State of Hawaii is preferred. Current BLS certification. N Positions Position: Receptionist/Billing Clerk Status: OPEN Behavioral Health Services Position Summary: Greet patients with a positive attitude. Obtain insurance information; make referrals and collects insurance co-payments. Work closely with insurance companies (i.e. eligibility, payment, coverage, etc.) Responsible for creation and maintenance of patient charts. Enters information into Centricity. Minimum Requirement(s): Education: High school or GED graduate. Experience: Prior medical office experience preferred. Skills/Knowledge: Ability to work with interruptions. Ability to meet deadlines.
