Leads Group Guidelines Chamber Mission Statement: Professionally empower our business minded members through relevant and innovative opportunities leading to sustained economic vitality. Leads Group: To generate business opportunities for Chamber members through building and strengthening professional relationships in a non-competitive and mutually supportive environment. I. Relationship of Leads Group to the Broomfield Chamber a. Leads Groups are a Broomfield Chamber Program i. The Leads Groups are a program administered by the Broomfield Chamber for the sole benefit of its membership, and as such, are subject to such regulation as deemed appropriate by the Chamber s Board of Directors. ii. Actions of the group are to be communicated to the Broomfield Chamber in a timely manner. Statistics are to be sent quarterly to the Chamber Staff Representative. iii. All applications for Leads Group membership must be received by the Chamber office with payment prior to joining Leads Group, or participating as speaker. iv. The Broomfield Chamber and the Leads Group Moderators/Co-Moderators will work together to enforce these guidelines. v. Any disputes regarding these guidelines are to be submitted in writing to the Broomfield Chamber office in a timely manner. vi. Broomfield Chamber reserves the right to disband groups as needed for the overall success of the program II. Conditions of Membership a. Membership Requirements i. Applicant must submit an application along with the Leads Group fee of $80.00 per year. ii. Applicant must be a Broomfield Chamber member in good standing iii. One chamber member per business or category per leads group without incurring additional fees iv. The category you represent in the Leads Group program must be the business and category under which you have joined the Bromfield Chamber 1. As applicable, multiple categories may be represented by one individual in accordance with paragraphs b, and c for the following rates a. 2 categories represented by one business or individual is $165 b. 3 categories represented by one business or individual is $255 b. Possible Business Conflicts i. If a current member feels there is a conflict with a potential member, the current member must notify the group Moderator immediately ii. Once notified, the Moderator s responsibility is to either facilitate a mutual beneficial and entirely voluntary solution between the current and prospective

member, or failing that, to notify the potential member that there is no vacancy in that particular group. Efforts will be made to find another group for this potential member to participate in or they will be placed on the waiting list. iii. If the dispute is not resolvable by the Moderator, then the issue will be resolved by the Leads Group Committee. The decision of the modulator committee will be final. iv. Members representing multi-level marketing companies will use the Leads Group as an opportunity to present products and services, and never the business opportunity portion of their business. c. Membership in Multiple Leads Groups i. A chamber member may have a co-owner or employee of their business join an additional group or category as long as they are the only one in the group in their occupation or category and they are an employee of a chamber member. The employee must also submit an additional application and additional Leads Group fee. d. Rejoining Groups or Changing Categories i. Members may rejoin groups or change categories provided that: 1. Their occupation or category is not represented by a current member of the group and no one is on the waiting list for their category. 2. The leadership of the group feels it is in the best interest of the group to allow the applicant to rejoin or change categories III. Networking Group Fee a. The fee for each member to participate in each Leads Group is $80.00 per year. i. The fee will be paid in full the first of every New Year. ii. If the fee is not paid on time, at 60 days past due the member will be dropped from the group and will have to reapply for membership as outlined in II-d. All fees and late fees must be paid before the reapplication will be considered. IV. Meetings a. Group Meeting Guidelines i. Meetings are held weekly at times and sites determined by the groups. ii. Meeting hosts/restaurants must be chamber members in good standing. iii. Duration of the meetings should be between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the size of the group, and as determined by each group. V. Visitors and Guests a. Guidelines and Visitors are Welcome i. Both chamber members and non-members are welcome at all meetings without the advance consent of the Moderator. ii. Visitors/ Guests may introduce themselves and give a brief description of their business. iii. Visitors/Guests are limited to two visits per Leads Group before they must decide whether or not they want to join the group. iv. The Broomfield Chamber must be notified by the moderator in an of any non-chamber members that visited their group within 48 hours of attending so the Chamber can follow-up regarding membership. VI. Attendance

VII. VIII. a. Attendance Will Be Enforced i. Regular attendance is required. Treat your weekly Leads Group meeting as a business meeting set on your calendar. ii. Members should notify the Moderator or statistician in advance if they will be absent. iii. There will be no more than 4 absences allowed per quarter. iv. After the third absence the Moderator will contact the member privately to find out if they will be returning. v. After the fourth missed meeting, and after being modified by the Moderator as stated above, the member will be dropped from the group. vi. Leaves of absence (no longer than one quarter) may be granted to members by mutual decision of the Moderator and the Leads Group Committee. If the situation will need more than one quarter to resolve, the member should resign and reapply to join the group at a later time as outlined in II-d. Qualified Leads a. The Goal of Each Leads Group is to Pass Qualified Leads i. A qualified lead is defined as: 1. The name and phone number of someone connected to a group member who has expressed an interest in purchasing a product or service represented by another group member. 2. Any other leads deemed acceptable by the recipient. 3. All leads must be deemed acceptable by the recipient. ii. If you have a lead and no one is your group is on that profession, you may pass the lead to someone in another group and earn points. iii. Any leads that do not meet the conditions outlined above will not earn points. iv. All leads must be turned in to the statistician on a Lead Form, including those passed to a member of another group. Point System a. Point Are Critical to Staying in the Group i. Member point are scored as follows: 1 Point: Member-to-member business or that of a spouse or minor child 2 Points: All other nonmembers-to-member qualified leads 1 Point: Closed business 1 Point: Bring a prospective group member as a guest to the meeting 1 Point: Ongoing business per quarter 2 Points: Your guest joins the Broomfield Chamber 2 Points: Your guest joins your Leads Group 5 Points: Perfect attendance in a quarter 1 Point: Member meeting ii. Members must have at least 8 points per quarter to retain group membership. iii. If members do not accrue 8 points in a quarter they will be placed on probation for the next quarter. If at least 8 points are not accumulated during the probation quarter, the member will be dropped from the group.

iv. Points for leads are not only awarded in the quarter such as leads are passed. In order to be counted in the current quarter s production, leads must be passed before the end of the quarter. v. If a passed lead is deemed not acceptable by the recipient, the points awarded for the lead will be deducted by the groups Statistician. vi. Everyone should be announcing their leads, not just passing them quietly. If a member doesn t have a lead to pass then give a testimonial for one on one with a fellow leads member. vii. The chamber reserves the right to translate the point system into revenue for tracking purposes. IX. Leadership a. Selection and Commitment b. As Leads Groups grow we encourage members to take on a leadership role. If the current Moderator, Statistician or Host has already completed a one- year commitment members of the group can step up and volunteer to take on a Leadership role. The Broomfield Chamber is to be notified of any member interested in taking on a Leadership Role. i. There will be an annual change of leadership each year. The most anyone can be in a leadership role is two years if agreed on by the Chamber and the group. Leaders will come from the group they are currently participating in. ii. At the end of each year the Chamber will choose a new Moderator/Co- Moderator for each group for the following year. Anyone interested should contact the Chamber directly. Having members step up keeps everyone involved and creates ownership. This also gives any interested member a chance at a leadership role. iii. If no one steps up, then the Chamber will choose the new Moderator/Co- Moderator each year. iv. Each group will have the following leadership: Moderator, CO-Moderator, Statistician, Guest Liaison/Business Card Book and Chamber Announcement person. Roles other than Moderator/ Co-Moderator will be chosen by the group. v. Leadership roles are a 1 year commitment, never going longer than 2 years vi. Each year the Co-Moderator will take over the Moderator role and a new Co- Moderator will be chosen. vii. Missing more than one quarterly Moderator Committee meeting without grave reason or prior arrangement with the Chamber will result in termination and full years dues will be required paid within in 30 days or you will be dismissed from group. X. Quarterly Guest Speakers a. It is the decision of the Chamber that guest speakers will speak at every group as assigned. XI. Responsibility of Group Members a. Membership in the Leads Group Program is one component of Chamber membership. To maximize the return on your investment, the Chamber strongly encourages Leads Group members to be active in the many other opportunities of the Chamber.

XII. b. The Broomfield Chamber of Commerce will promote all groups to new and prospective members equally. It is the responsibility of individual members to grow their groups through business transactions, Orientation Breakfasts, Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies, phone campaigns, and Business After Hours. Special efforts WILL NOT be given to one existing group in recruitment efforts. Guideline Revision a. The Chamber staff and Board of Directors may revise these guidelines periodically.
