1 American Psychology-Law Society American Academy of Forensic Psychology Resource Directory of Forensic Psychology Pre-doctoral Internship Training Programs

2 Introduction This resource directory provides a state-by-state listing of predoctoral internship programs that offer training opportunities in forensic psychology. The directory is intended for prospective internship applicants seeking predoctoral training in clinicalforensic psychology. The directory was compiled by identifying internships across all 50 states and Canadian provinces through the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) Directory On-line. Broad inclusion criteria were utilized by including internships that listed any forensic training opportunities (either a major rotation or an informal/minor rotation). Surveys were mailed to 186 training programs of which 88 responded (overall response rate of 47.3%). Thirty-five respondents indicated that forensic training was not offered at the training site or was not a significant component of the training program warranting inclusion in the directory. Therefore, the directory contains 63 internship programs with a variety of forensic training experiences across multiple settings. Previous versions of this directory offered limited information regarding rotations and the types of training experiences available. The current directory contains specific information for each forensic rotation (modality, setting, population), types of forensic assessment and treatment experiences, and percentage of time interns spend in each training experience. This information was collected to facilitate locating an internship site that offers training opportunities within specific areas of interest. In addition, and website information have also been included to facilitate contact with the internship program. When examining individual training sites in the directory use the following key (N/A = not applicable, = not completed). The resource directory was supported by the American Psychology-Law Society and the American Academy of Forensic Psychology. The directory was compiled by Keith R. Cruise, M.L.S., Ph.D., and graduate students in the Forensic-Clinical Program at Sam Houston State University. Questions regarding the development of the resource directory can be directed to
