3 Fusion Pest Services Fusion Pest offers a comprehensive range of pest prevention, control and reactive services. We are able to service both long term and short term contracts throughout Singapore, as well as provide ad-hoc services and also have experience in handling the following pests: Termites are actually important decomposers. Termites break down tough plant fibers, recycling dead and decaying trees into new soil. These hungry insects are vital to the health of our forests. As they tunnel, termites also aerate and improve the soil. It just so happens that we build our homes from termite food - wood. Bed bugs are small wingless insects that feed solely upon the blood of warm-blooded animals. They are parasites that have existed since ancient times. There are at least 92 known species of bed bugs found throughout the world. The most common species is the Cimex lectularius, which is best adapted to human environments. Mosquito is Spanish for "little fly." The word reportedly originated in the early 16th century. In Africa, mosquitoes are called "Mozzies". Mosquitoes are vectors of lifethreatening diseases throughout the world. Although we probably never will be able to be fully eradicate these pests from our planet, there are ways we can learn to deal with them. Pregnant for life? It doesn't sound like much fun, but some female cockroaches mate once and are pregnant for the rest of their lives. Roaches can go without eating for a month but will only live a week without water without its head and only dies because without a mouth, it can't drink water. Ants have six legs which are very strong and can run very fast. If a man could run as fast for his size as an ant can, he could run as fast as a racehorse. Ants can lift 20 times their own body weight. An ant brain has about brain cells. A human brain has 10,000 million so a colony of 40,000 ants has collectively the same size brain as a human. Flies are considered a nuisance by most people but they can also spread diarrheal illnesses. They have a hairy body and sticky foot pads that can easily carry germs and bacteria from contaminated sites to clean sites and food. Not all species of flies are pests. Many are beneficial, some are predators on pest insects and others are pollinators. Rats are omnivores. They have terrible vision, and they're colorblind, they rely on their fine sense of smell & whiskers for touch. They have some very talented teeth which they can chew through wood, metal and even concrete. Rats are a good jumper and a good swimmer. Snakes are known to live in a variety of different habitats. This includes in trees, on land, underground, and in the water. All snakes are categorized as reptiles. They don't have any limbs but they rely on their body to move quickly and quietly. They have a body that is very strong. Some species of snakes are venomous while others catch prey through the constriction. Note: Household pests can be much more than a nuisance - they can become a threat to your property and potentially your health. In fact, one household rat can contaminate ten times more food than it eats. That's why pest and bug control is so important around your home.
4 Termite Warning Signs & Identification Termites are often known as hidden threats because they can damage homes from the inside, sometimes with few external signs of damage. If left untreated, a termite colony can cause damage that is very costly to repair. Some indications you may have a termite infestation: A temporary swarm of winged insects in your home or from the soil around your home. Any cracked or bubbling paint or frass (termite droppings). Wood that sounds hollow when tapped. Mud tubes on exterior walls, wooden beams or in crawl spaces. Discarded wings from swarmer s. Subterranean termites build mud tubes (also known as shelter tubes) to serve as bridges between their colony and the wood they consume. These tubes are made of tiny pieces of soil, wood and debris, and are used to protect the colony from predators and conserve moisture. MUD TUBES Termite nests that commonly look like growths on trees are referred to as Aborial nests. It is common for non-dangerous species of Termites to make these nests, however it is also common for termites that feed on timber housing materials to build similar nests. ABORIAL NESTS Swarmers from mature colonies typically leave the nest at one of two times per year - during the spring or during the fall. The exact timing of the swarms varies based on the species and weather conditions. SWARMERS SHED WINGS Termite swarms may take place inside or outside of a home as mature termites leave the nest to start new colonies. Soon after swarmer s take flight, they shed their wings. You may find small piles of wings in spider webs and on surfaces around your home s foundation, like window sills. Subterranean termites damage wood according to a distinctive pattern. These cellulose-loving insects can leave nothing behind but the wood grain. Subterranean termite damage may be hidden inside the walls of a home since this species destroys wood from the inside out. DAMAGED WOOD After consuming wood, drywood termites often leave behind frass or droppings. These tiny fecal mounds often indicate a nearby termite infestation. DROPPINGS Did you know? While termite infestations do not cause illness, they may cause severe allergic reactions or asthmatic attacks
5 Fusion Pest Comprehensive Termite Management Program There are 3 groups of Termites in Singapore namely Dampwood Termites, Drywood Termites and Subterranean Termites which is the largest group of all termites that consist 12 types of termite species from 7 genera that can be found within Island in Singapore.
