Course Aims: This course aims to: Introduce students to the core concepts of project management with emphasis on achieving greater understanding on the contemporary methodologies and international standards on requirement gathering, analysis, and interpretation, focusing on marketers' requirements, and the need to survey, model and calibrate consumer responses. Teach students on how to draft out marketing campaign requirement and project specification. In addition, issues on contract and service levels management, cost and risk management, change and communication management will be taught. Endow students with a holistic understanding of the fundamentals of outsourcing, such as business process IT marketing project outsourcing, in relation to marketing initiatives.

2 Develop students practical skills in acquiring marketing information requirements for IT marketing projects, through the use of different requirements analysis methods and tools. Prepare students to develop generic skills in effective communication, working individually and in teams, time management, data analysis and reporting, and creative problem solving, for IT-based marketing projects. Gain a basic knowledge of skill sets required for IT marketing project outsourcing management. 2. Demonstrate the ability to innovatively apply the 3 project management knowledge and practical skills to the different stages of outsourced IT marketing projects; 4. Demonstrate the ability to apply creative problem 2 solving skills in formulating IT marketing project sourcing and with reference to the specific business context; 5. Exercise good communication and interpersonal 1 skills in planning, executing, and controlling outsourced IT marketing projects. 3 3. Teaching and Learning Activities (TLAs) (designed to facilitate students achievement of the CILOs) Indicative of likely activities and tasks students will undertake to learn in this course. Final details will be provided to students in their first week of attendance in this course. Seminar: 3 hours per week TLA1: Lectures: The contemporary models, methodologies and international standards of information technology project management are explained by the instructor; students are divided into small groups to analyse and generate their own concept maps about the project management techniques. TLA2: Case Studies: Effective IT marketing project offshoring practices which have been successfully applied to some organizations are discussed and analyzed by students. TLA3: Practical Exercises: Developing the hands-on skills of applying various project management concepts and techniques to outsourced IT marketing projects. TLA4: On-Line Discussion: It is a means of self reflection and sharing concepts, techniques, and methods for IT marketing project offshoring within or after formal classes. TLA5: Role Playing: Students develop further insight about IT marketing project management skills and techniques by simulating the roles of various project stakeholders. Tutorial Exercises (20%): Each tutorial consists of exercises, small group discussions, self reflection, or student presentations to assess students understanding of the chosen topics and their abilities to apply their skills.

Group Project (30%): A group project, which includes a project report and a presentation, will be assigned to let students apply IT marketing project management concepts and techniques to plan, execute, and control typical IT marketing project.
