WHY IT IS UNLIKELY THAT PERSONALIZED FEEDBACK SHOULD NOT WORK IN GAMBLING Pieter Remmers, AssissA International Conference on Pathological Gambling and Behavioral Addictions November 2014, Warsaw, Poland
QUESTIONS Where has feedback been applied? Was it successful? What about gambling?
The concept of feedback is very old A feedback loop is created when all or some portions of the output is sent back to the input. A device is said to an operating open loop, if no output feedback is being employed and a closed loop, if feedback is being used.
From Plato to Wiener Feedback plays an important role in Cybernetics Cybernetics is a transdisciplinary approach for exploring regulatory systems The word cybernetics was first used in the context of "the study of self-governance" by one of Plato s students in The Alcibiades self-governance is informed decision making!
3 common examples Behavioural based feedback is common and effective
