2 GUIDE TO COPLETING THE QUESTIONNAIRE The Council of the Built Environment (CBE) is a statutory body established in terms of the Council for Built Environment Act (No.43 of 2000). It is an overarching body that coordinates six Professional Councils (Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Project & Construction anagement, Property Evaluation, and Quantity Surveying). Built Environment Profession means any profession in the built environment for which a professional board has been established in terms of Section 15 of the Council for Built Environment Act, and includes any professional category within that profession. COVER PAGE 1. Please indicate the province in which the municipality is located. 2. Indicate the type of municipality (district, local etro) and its unicipal Infrastructure Investment ramework (II) category. 3. Provide an estimate of the population size that the municipality is serving. SECTION 1: EPLOYENT 4. This section seeks to establish the total number of built environment professionals in the employ of the municipality, their gender, race and age categories. 5. This includes both those professionals registered with professional councils as professionals or candidates and those who are not. 6. In the case of the engineering professions, please indicate the type of institution where the qualification was obtained. SECTION 2: EXPECTED RETIREENTS 7. Please provide the number of built environment professionals in the municipality s employ who will be retiring in the time period asked for. 8. This will mainly be employees that have reached the statutory retirement age. Page 2 of 9
