CHILD CARE COUNCIL OF NASSAU COUNTY, Franklin Square - $25,000 to improve the quality of out of school time providers in Nassau County. CHILDRENS MUSEUM OF THE EAST END, Bridgehampton - $15,000 to launch an after school science education program for immigrant families on Long Island s East End. CITIZENS CAMPAIGN FUND FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, Farmingdale - $25,000 to improve sewage treatment facilities in three Long Island communities: Bay Park, Northport Harbor, and Bergen Point. COLOKI, Merrick - $15,000 to expand its food project trailer and purchase quality work gear for the community s day laborers. CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION OF SUFFOLK COUNTY, Riverhead - $20,000 to involve parents in the anti-bullying efforts of four schools on Long Island s East End; Southhold Elementary School, North Fork Early Learning Center, Quogue School, and Tuckahoe School in Southampton. EMPIRE JUSTICE CENTER, Central Islip - $20,000 to advocate for the implementation of language assistance programs in public agencies and institutions across Long Island. FAMILY AND CHILDREN S ASSOCIATION, Mineola - $22,000 to protect children from gang recruitment and violence as they walk to and from school in the Village of Hempstead. FRIENDS OF LIMSAT, Garden City - $50,000 to expand the Long Island Regional Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Hub being created in partnership with Brookhaven National Laboratory.

HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY MUSEUM, Hempstead - $25,000 to bring the Art Travelers program to three additional high-need school districts in Nassau County Westbury, Roosevelt and Elmont. ISLAND HARVEST, Mineola - $30,000 to expand the area served by the Island Harvest senior mobile food pantry in Smithtown and/or Westbury/New Cassel areas. LA FUERZA UNIDA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, East Norwich - $20,000 to provide technical assistance to minority and women-owned small businesses with a focus on Huntington Station. LONG BEACH REACH, Long Beach - $20,000 to fund the merger of Long Beach Reach and Port Counseling Center providing expanded program offerings and improved service levels. LONG ISLAND ARTS ALLIANCE, Woodbury - $25,000 to launch an annual Arts and Culture Festival that encourages collaboration, showcases Long Island's cultural assets, and fosters economic development. LONG ISLAND CARES, Hauppauge - $20,000 continued support for the Long Island Cares Nassau Service Center food pantry in Freeport. LONG ISLAND CENTER FOR NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP AT ADELPHI UNIVERSITY, Garden City - $40,000 to support a new array of organizational capacity-building programs and services, such as strategic planning and board development initiatives, for six Long Island nonprofits. LONG ISLAND COMMUNITY AGRICULTURE NETWORK, Huntington - $20,000 to help develop community gardens to feed hungry Long Islanders in six congregations: Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center, St. John s Episcopal, Bethany Presbyterian, Temple Bethel, Dix Hill United Methodist, Huntington Jewish Center. LONG ISLAND JOBS WITH JUSTICE, Hauppauge - $20,000 to provide college admissions and financial aid training to high school educators and immigrant families. LONG ISLAND VOLUNTEER CENTER, Hempstead - $20,000 to provide services to nonprofit agencies to help them recruit and manage volunteers more effectively. MERCY MEDICAL CENTER, Rockville Centre - $50,000 to provide evening pediatric services in a safe, child-friendly, less crowded environment at Mercy Medical Center s Express Care facility. NEIGHBORHOOD NETWORK RESEARCH CENTER, Farmingdale - $22,000 to inform the public about the risks of pesticide use and encourage the use of organic alternatives to pest control. PECONIC LAND TRUST, Southampton - $10,000 to involve the public in an update of Suffolk County s agricultural and farmland protection plan. PLANNED PARENTHOOD HUDSON PECONIC, East End - $50,000 to support staffing costs for a mobile health van reaching underserved populations in Suffolk County, spanning across the entire east end of Long Island. REGIONAL PLAN ASSOCIATION, Island-wide - $86,000 to collect data and analyze Long Island s affordable rental housing stock, and creation of a public education campaign. STONYBROOK FOUNDATION, Stony Brook - $25,000 to perform dental health screenings and pilot the use of a mobile dental van at Riverhead and William Floyd elementary schools, located in two high-need communities. SUFFOLK COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION, Selden - $30,000 to provide support services to strengthen educational outcomes for STEM Scholars. SUSTAINABLE LONG ISLAND, Farmingdale - $20,000 to develop an environmental justice action agenda on Long Island. TOURO COLLEGE JACOB D. FUCHSBERG LAW CENTER, Central Islip - $20,000 to provide legal assistance to military veterans with psychological disorders. USDAN CENTER FOR CREATIVE & PERFORMING ARTS, Wheatley Heights - $5,000 for a micro-grant program to support needy and worthy student musicians in the Brentwood School District enabling them to further their musical education at a college and/or pursue a career in music.
5 THE LONG ISLAND UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST FUND 2012 GRANTS TOTALING $235,000 The Long Island Unitarian Universalist Fund is a field of interest fund in the Long Island Community Foundation that promotes progressive social change. The fund was established by the Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock. Grants are made in response to competitive proposals received from Long Island nonprofit organizations. The proposals are reviewed by LICF staff and presented to an advisory committee, composed of members drawn from UU congregations across Long Island. ALLIANCE FOR QUALITY EDUCATION, Island-wide - $20,000 for continued work on a grassroots campaign to ensure educational equity on Long Island. CHOICE FOR ALL, Roosevelt - $20,000 to support a collaborative initiative to address educational and economic disparities in Roosevelt. FIVE TOWNS COMMUNITY CENTER, Lawrence - $20,000 for renewed support to expand the Latino Empowerment Project a program designed to provide a cadre of Latino residents with the skills, resources, and structure to advocate on behalf of their communities HAITIAN AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION OF LONG ISLAND, Freeport - $20,000 to support the development of a curriculum for cultural competency to promote better understanding of the Haitian community on Long Island. HERSTORY WRITERS WORKSHOP, Centereach - $20,000 to enable those directly affected by injustices to advocate for changes in social policies. LONG ISLAND PROGRESSIVE COALITION, Massapequa - $20,000 to support work to get out the vote for the referendum on the Dissolution of Sanitary District Two. LONG ISLAND WINS, Old Westbury - $20,000 build the capacity of an organization and expand its community outreach to create a more welcoming climate for new immigrants.

SHINNECOCK INDIAN NATION FUND, Southampton - $35,000 to help the Shinnecock Nation build its administrative infrastructure.
