1 Zassar Gatson 1 CAREER SUMMARY: I have been working as a nurse for 32 years, approximately 8 years in a critical care environment and the remaining years in a Orthopedic, medicalsurgical, radiology, cath lab, maternal setting and administration. I have acquired a variety of nursing skills through working in various areas as well as long-term care facilities (app. 3 years). Presently working in the ADN Program as a nursing instructor teaching Mental Health N ursing with clinicals, three sessions of Health Assessment and co-instructor for a skills lab course Instructor at Odessa College in the A.D.N. Program co- instructor for second semester nursing & clinical, 3 rd semester O B coclinical instructor, taught 4 th semester management, management clinicals & 4 th Staff Nurse/Educator, House Supervisor: semester Advanced clinicals and first semester clinicals, 1 st and 2 nd semester skills lab instructor and presently teaching health assessment face-to-face and online and Mental Health N ursing second semester with clinicals IRF/PAI Coordinator/Educator: trained on the computer using Windows, Microsoft Word, Windows Excel, Power Point, AT&T Global C lient, MediLinks. I trained staff and coordinated FIM scores to ensure proper reimbursement fees from Medicare and coded patient diagnoses and co- morbidities. I also worked in the capacity of a Case Manager for 7 months utilizing people skills and managing transactions for patient sa fety, placement, pt. care, phone calls and faxing information to many offices. Crossed trained as referral liaisons

Sedate, monitor, assess patients for /during cardiac procedures, Departmental QA, EK G Policy & Procedures, Taught EKG Interpretation courses, CPR, & Shock Advisory to staff, coordinated training for staff/patients on holters, loop monitors and their respective computer programs. Assisted with patient emergencies and patient care. Cross trained for Cath Lab & Radiology staffing shortage. Worked in the Transfer Center where I did bed assignment, direct and regular patient admits. Coordinated patient transfers via Helicopter services and via ambulance. Cross-trained in Vascular Sonography of the neck, arms, and legs. Coordinated Health Fairs, Cardiovascular Educational Seminars, Cath/Echo conferences. C harge nurse for Telemetry and Medical Units. I precepted nurses for telemetry, SNIF unit and the Cath Lab. Managed STS (Society of Thoracic Surgery) data base. Worked as a Leadership Greeter. Admitted and discharged patients to other facilities and home. Interacted a great
3 Zassar Gatson 3 deal with patients, family and co-workers as a team Critical Care Float Pool N urse; worked in Cardiac Cath Lab, CCU, ICU, NICU, Post Partum, 9 Central step down unit, SNF unit and pediatric units as a float nurse performing basic nursing care in the respective areas, relief charge nurse on 5 Central Med/Surg unit. This required flexibility in nursing skills and strong interpersonal skills. Wrote, and interpreted physician orders. Administered medications. Received and gave report pre and post procedures. Weekend Supervisor: Evaluated patient care, performed staff New Horizons assignments, performed weekly staff Odessa Texas meetings and in-services.
