8 What Is Distribution Planning? We optimally design and plan distribution networks and facilities. Transmission and storage facilities are designed and planned by other groups. We provide 24-hour emergency support to over 40,000km of pipelines that serves 400 communities and 1.4 million customers across Ontario Each geographical area has a modeled system that is planned and reviewed using the latest version of Synergi software Each model is reviewed on an annual basis for accuracy and calibrated against actual monitored parameters We create and review Facilities Business Plans to ensure piping networks are able to serve existing and future customers 8
9 What Is Distribution Planning? Operational Approvals - CARS (Construction Admin Records System) Requests -New and Existing Customers Load Addition - MUBS (Multi Unit Buildings) - Design Proposals -Abandonment -New Business -Reinforcement -Replacement - Station 180 s - Distribution, Customer, Transmission or Producer - Large Customer/ Special Customer Inquiries - Service Requests -Teed, Undersized Exceptions, EFV s, Relocations, Replacements - Gas Loss Calculations - MOP (Upgrades & Downgrades) Operational Support - Operational Requests - Out of Service, Zunt Fittings, Blowdown Plans, Line Pack Calculations - Integrity Support - Pig Ready, Pigging, Digs - Emergency Support - Leaking Valve, Isolation Plans, LoadShed - District Support -Annual Review -FBP - Sales Support - Contracts - Sales Workbook - Gas Supply Support - TCPL Pil Requirements - ISP (Integrated Supply Planning) - OEB and Regulatory 9
10 Annual Review Update customer loads based on historical trends Identify system changes/inaccuracies Review and revise contract parameters Update pipe network Verify our modeled systems (within +/- 5%) Identify and recommend system parameters for the upcoming winter operations 10
11 Facilities Business Plans Update the model with identified future loads and project future growth using historical trends Identify system low points and create a plan to reinforce these areas Create a 20 year growth projection plan to support regular rate growth Outline and identify undersized facilities (main & stations) Assess the current system versus our future projected system 11
