1 REGIONE DEL VENETO AZIENDA SOCIO SANITARIA LOCALE N. 10 VENETO ORIENTALE HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR TOURISTS IN ERACLEA EMERGENCIES In case of Urgency and Emergency (life-threatening situations), call 118 The emergency system of ASSL10, coordinated by the 118 Emergency Operation Centre, increases its human and technical resources, in order to guarantee safe holidays to all the tourists all through the Summer: Lifeguards on the beaches: Qualified water rescue staff, trained in Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques and Basic Life Support Defibrillation (BLS-D ) in case of cardiac arrest. The staff is in contact by phone with the 118 Emergency Operation Centre; S.U.E.M.- The Territorial Health Urgency and Emergency Service: It is active 24 hours a day and it is activated by dialling the phone number 118. The call is free-of-charge. The S.U.E.M., after evaluating the urgency, will provide the most appropriate health assistance. The operation centre cooperates with the local hospital emergency departments, the ambulance service, and the helicopter rescue staff; EMERGENY NUMBER 118 The service is guaranteed by the Emergency Department of the local Hospital. The staff communicates by radio with the 118 Emergency Operation Centre which activates the appropriate emergency transportation means (ambulance or helicopter rescue). EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT IN JESOLO LIDO Via Levantina, 104 Telephone: If necessary, a doctor will follow patients in serious conditions also during the transportation; Throughout the most critical summer period a mobile resuscitation unit is active and ready to go into action in case of life-threatening situations (red code of gravity); Hospital admission:. When admission is needed, patients will be taken to hospital to Jesolo or to San Dona di Piave. These hospitals are also equipped for one-day surgery treatments and for out-patient treatments in all specialties. 3 Tourists who need recurrent treatments The following services are available for those tourists who want to enjoy their holidays without discontinuing the treatments they need: 1. Hemodialysis Service: DIALYSIS CENTRE c/o JESOLO HOSPITAL Via Levantina, Telephone: Periodic checks and tests: For those tourists who suffer from chronic disorders such as metabolic diseases, diabetes, cardiac decompensation, chronic bronchitis, or are undergoing anticoagulant therapy, etc. and therefore need to have periodic checks and tests. SUMMER DIALYSIS SERVICE The Summer Dialysis Service is provided every year from 15 th May to 15 th September at the Dialysis Centre in Jesolo Lido Public Hospital. The Centre is equipped with 12 beds and with the most modern dialysis machines which can perform the most advanced dialysis methodologies (bicarbonate dialysis, AFB, on line hemofiltration and hemodiafiltratio) and water purification through reverse osmosis.
4 Moreover, the Dialysis Centre is provided with the necessary equipment to monitor the safety-critical parameters during the hemodialysis treatment, and, if necessary, dry weight check will be made through bioimpedance. In addition, the Centre is provided with air-conditioning, tv-sets and a cold drinks and snacks. During dialysis sessions patients are followed by a specialized staff trained in dialysis techniques. The dialysis Centre belongs to the Nephrology and Dialysis Operative Unit of Jesolo Hospital, which also follows patients under peritoneal dialysis treatment, patients waiting for renal transplant and transplanted patients. How to access the Summer Dialysis Service Patients send their requests by fax or , indicating the period of stay, dialysis days, the no. of dialysis sessions required, positivity or negativity to viral markers, tel. no, fax no., and address to. The Dialysis Centre accepts the requests on a beds availability basis, and send an answer to patients as soon as possible. Two weeks before the holiday, patients send by fax the following information: Dialysis methodology, particular problems concerning dialysis vascular access Updated clinical and dialysis data, Currently prescribed therapy (please note that ASSL10 doesn t provide medications for home therapy) Main blood values, particularly HBV, HCV, HIV markers, blood group, and an ECG, taken at the longest days before the admission to the Dialysis Centre. At the arrival at the Dialysis Centre patients show a medical prescription for the number of dialysis sessions they need, the dialysis methodology, a copy of their identity card or passport, and a copy of their EHIC card or other authorized form*.
