Valencia s Hospitality program is located in one of the hottest tourist areas in the country and in one of the most state-of-the-art facilities The Walt Disney Wld Center f Hospitality and Culinary Arts complete with a hotel front desk simulation area and computer lab equipped with 30 computers and a Point-Of-Sale (POS system). Valencia s program combines classroom instruction with on-thejob training to help you move successfully into supervisy mid-management positions in lodging, food service, tourism and hospitality. One of the most valuable aspects of the program is the 240 hour internship which enables you to develop skills in guest services, management and technical areas. These certificate programs are designed to equip you with a specialized skill set f immediate employment to upgrade your skills f job advancement. Most can be completed in one year less, and all of the courses in the certificate programs can be applied toward the A.S. degree. Whether you are interested in learning employable skills f the hospitality industry upgrading your current talents, Valencia has courses that may interest you. Graduates of specific programs at Orange County Tech Centers may be eligible f the award of credit in specific courses in this program. Eligible students should contact the related academic department and/ Career Program Advis at Valencia f the award of credit. Students who want to continue their education should contact their university of choice f acceptance of this degree. F students who are interested in pursuing UCF s B.A.S. degree, 36 credit hours of general education courses will be required. Students will also have to fulfill the state s feign language requirement, which is two years of the same high school feign language two semesters of the same college-level feign language. Hospitality Event Planning Management This program is designed to prepare students f immediate employment in the hospitality industry with employable skills in the events planning area of hotels, rests, convention centers and other hospitality-related sites.
