DATE: August 25, 2015 TO: All Plan Holders ARCHITECTURAL PARTNERS, P.C. 10 Ninth Street, Lynchburg, Va / Fax 434/ FROM: Jim Vernon, Architectural Partners PROJECT NAME: Nelson County Courthouse Complex, Phase 2 COMM. # ADDENDUM #6 Bid Date: September 2, 2015 Time: 2:00 p.m., local prevailing time This addendum becomes part of the Construction Documents. The following changes, additions, and deletions shall be made to the following documents; all other conditions shall remain the same. Please attach to all copies of the Construction Documents which you are holding. All Contractors are to state in their bid the receipt of this addendum. Instruction to Bidders: Addendum To The Drawings: none Addendum To The Procurement and Contracting Requirements none Addendum To The Specifications: Spec Section Data Networking Equipment and Cabling: Replace Section 3.3 Network Backbone Internet with revised Section 3.3, included as a part of this addendum. Questions/Answers and Clarifications: none END OF ADDEMDUM #6
3.3. Network Backbone Interconnect This section of the document defines the horizontal cable runs which will be necessary for the network backbone. The network backbone will leverage existing fiber and copper cabling where possible. The following figure shows a detailed map of existing. Figure 3.3 1: Existing Fiber and Copper Interconnect The following additions or changes will need to be implemented as part of this project. Please refer to the diagram below reflecting these additions or changes. 1. A new 12 Strand multimode OM2 62.5/125 fiber run, Run #1, should be implemented between Room 214 and First Floor Data Closet 136. This run should be terminated in the 2 post telecommunication racks in these respective rooms per the termination specification as set forth in Section 2.6. This run will be utilized to connect the Supreme Court router to the Supreme Court Network A new 12 Strand multimode OM2 62.5/125 fiber run, Run #3, should be implemented between Second Floor Data Closet 224 and Server Room 225. This run should be terminated in the 2 post telecommunication racks in these respective rooms per the termination specification as set forth in Section 2.6. This run will be utilized to connect the new server room into the existing network backbone.
3. A new 12 Strand multimode OM2 62.5/125 fiber run, Run #4, should be implemented between Second Floor Data Closet 224 and First Floor Data Closet 136. This run should be terminated in the 2 post telecommunication racks in these respective rooms per the termination specification as set forth in Section 2.6. This run will be utilized to connect the First Floor Data Closet into the existing network backbone. 4. Jefferson Building Connectivity There is an existing fiber and copper run from the north wall of the courthouse to the Jefferson Building that will be impacted by construction. This connection exits the existing courthouse on the north wall above ground and the runs underground to the Jefferson Building surfacing on the exterior of the Jefferson Building. In order to minimize the impact of this connection, a new fiber and copper run will be completed in a new conduit outside the limits of construction PRIOR TO ANY DEMOLITION which may interrupt the existing fiber and copper runs. There is currently a 12 Strand fiber run from 224 through the existing Clerk s Office to the Jefferson Building on the north wall of the existing building underground as shown in Figure There is also 50 pair 24 AWG copper running through the same conduit from the Jefferson Building back to 136. This copper is then extended from 136 up to 224 for connection to the telephone system. The following photo shows the existing termination of the copper in 136 and the fiber and copper termination in the Jefferson Building. 34 Copper Termination in 136 Fiber and Copper Termination in Jefferson Building
4.1 The existing fiber and copper runs from the Jefferson Building must be maintained until new runs are completed, terminated and migration of services has been completed. Contractor must work with Nelson County Information Technology to coordinate transition of services from the existing connections to the new connections. 4.2 A new 3 PVC conduit should be installed to handle the new fiber and copper run from the Jefferson Building through Room 002 with final termination in First Floor Data Closet 136. The following diagram, Figure 3.3 4, reflects the recommend path for the new conduit. It is also recommended that two flush mounted, secure, 24 pull boxes be implemented to support routing. Figure 3.3 4: New Conduit to Jefferson Building 4.3 A 3 sleeve should be implemented through the basement wall into room A new contiguous 12 Strand multimode OM2 62.5/125 fiber run, Run #5 as shown below, should be implemented in a new fiber patch panel in the Jefferson Building and First Floor Data Closet 136. This fiber run should utilize the new conduit as noted in 4.2 above. This fiber run should be terminated in the fiber patch panel in First Floor Data Closet 136.
4.5 A new 12 Strand multimode OM2 62.5/125 fiber run, Run #2 as shown below, should be implemented between First Floor Data Closet Room 136 and terminated in the Second Floor Data Closet 224 fiber termination panel. 4.6 A new run of 50 pair 24 awg copper, Run #6, should be implemented to interconnect the Jefferson Building to the County s telephone system located in Second Floor Data Closet 224. This should be a contiguous run terminated in a new 110 style punch down block in the Jefferson Building and should run through the new conduit as noted in 4.2 above and should terminate in a new 110 style punch down block in First Floor Data Closet 136. Existing copper will then be utilized to complete the connections between 136 and 224. Figure 3.3 2: Network Interconnect Additions 36
Figure 3.3 3: Fiber Routing 3.4. Network Interconnect Design and Specification This section of the document sets forth the logical network design and specification reflecting the network switches and other equipment which will be implemented. 1. Server Room 225: 1 network switch will be installed in the 2 post telecommunication rack to support network connections on the second floor. This switch will be Cisco 2960X 48FPD L which have 48 10/100/1000 ports and 2 SFP+ uplinks, all PoE capable to position the County to implement devices such as wireless access points or VoIP telephones. This switch should be connected via Cisco FlexStack Plus (C2960X STACK) modules and FlexStack cables (CAB STK E 0.5M). This switch will be connected to the existing County network via an OM3 multimode fiber run between room 225 and room Cisco 2960X 48FPD L Switch 1 Cisco SFP (mini GBIC) transceiver module 1 Gbps with LC/PC Multi Mode 2. First Floor Data Closet 136: 1 network switch will be installed in the 2 post telecommunication rack to support network connections on the second floor. This switch will be Cisco 2960X 48FPD L which have 48 10/100/1000 ports and 2 SFP+
