The AWCC participates annually in the Connections Convention and Trade Show located in Las Vegas, in which Craig has participated in event activities and will now serve as the association representative for the event. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Wausau/Marathon Chamber of Commerce and is a current member of the Moose lodge. Craigʼs holds numerous certifications in the cleaning industry; two from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), Master Cleaning Technician (MCT) and Master Restoration Technician (MRT). He is also certified to do commercial HVAC Cleaning (CHT) and received his designation as a Certified Building Service Executive (CBSE) awarded by the Building Service Contractor Association International (BSCAI). Connections, a non-profit 501 (C6) corporation, is about bringing together our industry and finding ways to work together to improve the quality and technical proficiency of the work done for consumers.. There are 12 National and Regional Trade Associations currently involved in Connections who are dedicated to working together to improve the educational opportunities in our industry. Education is a major key to improving our rapidly growing industry, get involved and be a part of the next Connections event. This year, the AWCC will be participating in two Connections events the Connections Conference scheduled for April 18-20th in Orlando and the Connections Convention and Trade Show scheduled for September 23-25th in Las Vegas. AWCCʼs April Educational Session IICRC Water Damage/Restoration Course April 28 8:00 am Registration, 8:30 am 4:30 pm Program April 29 8:30 am 4:30 pm Program The AWCC is sponsoring an IICRC Water Damage/Restoration Course for those who wish to get proper training and acquire IICRC Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in water damage restoration. The program will be held at K-Tech Kleening Systems, Inc. Wausau facility, located at 7710 Technology Drive in Schofield, Wisconsin. This 2-day course will include: nature of water damage, time related factors, general safety guidelines, dehumidification, psychromentry, initial remediation procedures, microbiology, practical use of disinfectants, antimicrobials, first aid, and processing procedures for clean water. Program instructor, Gary Funari of Unsmoke has spent 20 years in the residential and commercial construction and restoration industry. He is a certified IICRC instructor in the areas of fire & smoke restoration, water damage restoration, and odor control. The cost to attend this program is $200 for members and $250 for non-members and includes the course manual, continental breakfast and lunch on both days. This program is an IICRC Certified Course. An IICRC test will be provided at the end of the course to those who wish to take it. The test is an additional $30 if you have taken an IICRC test in the past and $40 if you have not. Checks are to be made payable to: IICRC and will be collected by the instructor at the time of the test. The AWCC is not able to accept checks for this test. Association of Wisconsin Cleaning Contractors May Educational Session IICRC Certified Health and Safety Course May 19-20, 2005 May 19th 8:00 am Registration, 8:30 am 5:00 pm Course May 20th 8:30 am 5:30 pm Course The AWCC is offering an IICRC Health and Safety course which is required if you are working toward your Master Fire & Smoke Restorer or Master Water Restorer designation. If you currently have a Master Restorer Technician designation, the Health and Safety Training is required to maintain that status before your anniversary date in You will walk away from this course with the appropriate action plans in tact, such as a Respiratory Protection Plan, Hazardous Communication Plan and also save you thousands of dollars in OSHA fines! Some of the course topics include: fire, electricity, Material Safety Data Sheers, OSHA requirements, confined space and Personal Protective Equipment. Course instructor, Howard Wolf is President of HW3 Group, LLC, a consulting, training and marketing firm for the cleaning and restoration industry, who has extensive disaster and large loss experience and sits on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Mr. Wolf served as a sub-chair for the S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation and currently is the Chairperson for the IICRC S500 Professional for Professional Water Damage 3rd Revision. He has served as Treasurer, Vice President and President of the Association of Wisconsin Cleaning Contractors. The cost to attend this program is $300 for members and $385 for non-members and includes the course manual, continental

You will learn the four primary synthetic fibers, how they are extruded, dyed and spun into yarns before being sent to tufting machines or looms. The important areas of the CRI 105 Installation Standards and how they can protect you from claims that arise after the cleaning will be discussed. And Mr. Yeadon will teach you the secrets from the pro's of spot and stain removal, along with the five principles and five most popular cleaning methods. November 8-11 IICRC Applied Microbial Technician Class (Stevens Point) A 4-day course that provides restorers with the necessary tools to perform mold & sewage remediation. Mold contamination has been identified as a major contributor to building related illness and poor indoor air quality. Join Howie Wolf of HW3 Group as he shows you how to handle mold and sewage remediation. An AMRT exam will be provided at the end of the course. Participants must first be an IICRC Certified Water Damage Restoration Technician to take the exam.
