Conference Overview Join us for the 2013 PS Suite Software User Conference to refresh best practices and learn new skills. Session formats include traditional classroom style, peer-to-peer learning, and hands-on training in a lab-like environment. We are pleased to announce that the 2013 conference will offer a variety of new session topics including Encounter Assistants for family practice; Encounter Assistants for specialists; billing optimization; and using PS Suite EMR tools in diabetic care all presented by PS Suite EMR super-users. Five hands-on sessions will be presented by experts to provide you training on tools and features like Encounter Assistants and the Pending Tests and Consults tool. Private meetings and knowledge exchange with trainers and developers also provide excellent ways to receive training on specific issues of interest to you.

2 Custom Forms Course Make the most of your travel time and join us for extra training before the User Conference officially opens. We are offering the custom forms course at $200 off the regular fee on Thursday, May 30, at the Hilton Suites Toronto/Markham Conference Centre & Spa. Space is limited, and registration will be on a first come, firstserved basis. The course will be offered twice, from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: $360 + HST (savings of $200) Please note: The reduced price for the custom forms course is available to registered User Conference attendees only. Note also that the cost for this training does not include the necessary licensing requirement or ongoing maintenance fees to implement custom forms functionality in your system. Clinics that wish to subscribe to custom forms can do so by contacting Inside Sales. Hands-On Training During the breakout portions of the conference, you will have the opportunity to get hands-on training in a lab-like environment. PS Suite Software trainers will conduct sessions focused on specific skills, which you can learn for the first time or just brush up on. There are five hands-on training topics, and each will be offered twice throughout the conference breakout sessions. Each hands-on session will be limited to 15 people, on a first-come, first-served basis. We will accept registration to a maximum of two hands-on sessions per person in order to accommodate the anticipated demand. Private Meetings Throughout every breakout portion of the conference, you will have an opportunity to book an appointment with a trainer or other PS Suite Software staff member for one-on-one time. These time slots are limited to 20 minutes to accommodate as many people as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your requests; however, we cannot guarantee availability for everyone. Private meetings are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be sure to include a short description of the nature of your meeting request, so we can pair you up with appropriate staff. Knowledge Exchange With Trainers And Developers At the end of each conference day, our trainers and developers will be available to facilitate an exchange of information with your peers. As well as guiding the discussion, they can answer any questions about EMR, including administrative topics like billing, scheduling and general office best practices. Client Appreciation Dinner Friday, May 31, 7 p.m. Enjoy a fun-filled evening, included in the price of conference registration. Back by popular demand, comedian Simon B. Cotter will provide the after-dinner entertainment. Tips, Tricks And Trends In Diabetic Care Join Dr. Tim Szozda as he talks about how he uses tools in PS Suite EMR to manage his diabetic patients more efficiently and effectively. Sharing Data With PS Suite EMR In clinics where a group of physicians collaborate to provide care, sharing data is vital. In the past, physicians had to share notes with one another manually, rather than being able to update them electronically. Join Dr. Perry Tibbo as he provides a first look at new data-sharing functionality that will allow physicians a full view of all patient charts associated with physicians in their group, and the ability to update and save changes on the patient s home chart for their family physician. 5 Specialist Sessions New Perspectives On Office Workflow In A Specialist Setting More than anyone, specialist physicians can benefit from customizing PS Suite EMR to make their offices run more efficiently. Join allergist Dr. Harold Kim as he describes the unique workflow he has developed using PS Suite EMR in his allergy and clinical immunology clinic. Ocean Wave From CognisantMD Dr. Doug Kavanagh will introduce CognisantMD s upcoming Ocean Wave patient tablet, a new and revolutionary way to communicate with patients and optimize medical practice. The tablet is used to delegate greeting, triaging, registration, address correction, history-taking, self-reporting questionnaires and more, all in a professional, simple and patient-friendly user interface. Using PS Suite EMR In Institutional And Multi-Disciplinary Settings Using PS Suite EMR in institutional and multi-disciplinary settings can be quite different than in a small clinic. Join Dr. Sharon Domb, Dr. Fok-Han Leung and Dr. Judy Thompson as they describe the benefits and best uses of EMR in large, interdisciplinary clinics. They will then host a discussion period to get insights from other large groups using PS Suite EMR. Encounter Assistants: The Specialist Perspective Encounter Assistants are a new productivity tool introduced with PS Suite EMR version 5.2. Dr. Karen Stillman, OB/GYN, talks about how this tool has made her obstetrics clinic more efficient. Using Stamps And Custom Forms In Pediatric Workflow We are pleased to welcome Dr. Scott Styles, who will give a presentation on his use of stamps to facilitate adding notes, referral letters, etc., to the patient profile. He will also offer practical suggestions on advanced use of stamps in pediatric care. General Interest Sessions PS Suite EMR New Feature Review Late in 2012, we launched PS Suite EMR version 5.2, with new functionality and many new features. Join our Product Training Specialist as she demonstrates version 5.2 and offers her insights on the new aspects of the software. Troubleshooting PS Suite EMR Join us for a session with members of both our Architecture and Client Services teams as they outline common issues that come up when using PS Suite EMR, and steps you can take to resolve them. They will provide perspective on the technical requirements of our product for Java and OS related updates as well as troubleshooting tips. This session is geared toward clients who are comfortable with technology and want to be more proactive about troubleshooting. Supporting Your Team Through EMR Transition Adapting to using EMR software in your clinic can be a challenging but exciting time. Shannon Jackson, Manager of Professional Services, and Judy Miller, Director, Northeastern Manitoulin Family Health Team, will take you through the process of EMR transition and share best practices for adapting to new EMR features. Tax-Wise Investing For Incorporated Physicians Most physicians who incorporate do so to save taxes. Tax planning, however, doesn t end with incorporation. In this seminar we will explore the ramifications of balancing portfolio strategy and taxes, as well as options to reduce taxes on passive income and ways to increase retirement savings. We will discuss concepts like understanding tax on corporate investment income; selecting and implementing an appropriate asset allocation and asset mix strategy; considering salary versus dividends; which compensation strategy is right for you; and ensuring your tax-free savings account strategy is in sync with your compensation strategy.

She will review the OHIP billing cycle and the reports that are generated, as well as discussing efficient billing of uninsured services. Join our Product Management team as they review our product road map and seek your input regarding our latest version of PS Suite EMR, with a focus on administrative tools. By using well-designed stamps and appropriate reminders, health professionals can program their EMR to post crucial test results and test status right into the patient profile. In this session, participants will learn how to create functioning reminders with associated stamps. Pending Tests And Consults Learn to use the Pending Tests and Consults tool to help manage the care of non-compliant patients.
