We welcome you to our community of learners, leaders, and friends. Our school families are drawn from Severna Park as well as from around Central Anne Arundel County. We were established as a kindergarten in 1957 and today we educate students from age 3 to grade 8. St. Martin s is a school where each child is known and loved. In this caring educational environment we both challenge and nurture each student to reach his or her academic and personal potential. Our teachers are experienced educational professionals who are highly effective at understanding and meeting student needs. Our preschool provides children the academic foundations and readiness that prepares them for their whole educational future. In our elementary grades students are encouraged to develop the academic and social-emotional skills that are essential during these formative years. Our middle school solidly prepares students for the academic rigors of high school and they graduate with a strong and growing sense of self in the world with the opportunity to attend their schools of choice. At whatever grade a child enters St. Martin s Episcopal School, we are able to meet them where they are and encourage them towards academic success and personal growth. A St. Martin s education is a dynamic, invaluable experience. We offer an excellent core academic curriculum in both language arts and mathematics, and newly introduced in 2013 a STEM curriculum (science, technology, engineering, and math). We also have distinctive Culture of Literacy offerings such as the Cuddle Read-Aloud program (age 3 through Grade 2), Shakespeare-in-the-Field in partnership with the Compass Rose Theatre, and Touchstones Discussions which foster civil discourse. Our outstanding environmental education program is based on our long-standing partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. 5 Why did you select St. Martin s-in-the-field Episcopal School? St. Martin s Episcopal School has a limited amount of financial aid available for distribution each school year. The deadline for applying for financial aid is February 1st. Financial aid applications are available from the Business Office. Enrollment decisions are based on a composite of available space, the best interests of the school, class composition, and the best interests of the applicant. No applicant will be denied admission based on his/her membership in a legally protected class, including race, color, religion, age, disability, sex, national origin, marital status, veteran status, financial status, or any other basis protected by law. The parents/guardians certify this application is correct and complete. The parents/guardians and the applicant agree to support all rules, regulations and guidelines of St. Martin s at the time of admission and throughout attendance.
