The Law School seeks to achieve this mission through a rich and demanding curriculum, instruction in legal research and writing, a wide variety of opportunities for professional skills training, and support for its students and alumni in planning and achieving rewarding professional careers. To cultivate a broad range of legal and interdisciplinary scholarship that, working at the cutting edge of its field, enhances the development of law and legal doctrine, and deepens society's understanding of law and its role in society. The Law School seeks to achieve this mission through support for a wide range of research, writing, and other scholarly activities, and through maintenance and continued improvement of a law library suited to the demands of an excellent research institution. 8 in the national and local bar of communities that have historically been disadvantaged for reasons such as race, ethnicity, disability, culture, or economic status; and by instilling in its graduates rigorous professional ethics. These three missions are closely related to one another. The faculty's scholarship and teaching inform one another, and the Law School's commitment to justice invigorates both. How does your school's leadership communicate the importance of diversity of your student body, faculty and administration? The Office of Admissions and Student Recruiting and the School at large, is sensitive in highlighting our faculty, alumni, administrators and current law students who demonstrate the multiculturalism that we reflect and want to continue reflecting. Our recruiting materials and other promotional efforts clearly portray our multiculturalism and how important we feel diversity is to our mission. Please provide any additional information regarding your school's diversity initiatives that you wish to share. Through many initiatives, Miami continues to give back to underrepresented community groups by providing services and mentoring initiatives to increase the "pipeline to success". There are numerous on-going diversity initiatives that take place through multiple departments and student organizations, e.g., the Center for Ethics and Public Service's (CEPS) Community Health Rights Education Clinic is an interdisciplinary program providing legal advice and advocacy in the areas of health rights, public benefits, immigration, and permanency planning to vulnerable low-income populations in cooperation with the Schools of Nursing and Medicine; the CEPS Street Law Program teaches law, public policy, and ethics to students and faculty in Miami-Dade County public and private schools; the School of Law's Children and Youth Law Clinic is an interdisciplinary program supplying legal services to children in the foster care system and advancing law reform initiatives on behalf of low-income children and families in cooperation with the School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry; the Black Law Students Association as well as other student groups offer mentoring opportunities to students at local public schools, HOPE (Helping Others Through Pro Bono Efforts) sponsors a Books & Buddies program, etc Vault, Inc.
