2 The Asset Series The Indian economy continues to be on a growth path, taking in its stride the infrastructural hurdles and global economic challenges of the recent past. This growth momentum provides exciting challenges and opportunities for senior executives to lead, mould and evolve business practices in their respective organizations. However, in parallel, there is the continuing challenge of widespread skills gap, leadership expertise and talent shortages in various specialized areas. This can be addressed through specialized knowledge transfer, development of expertise and benefit of experience from practitioners with widespread exposure to industries and live business situations. KPMG in India is, therefore, offering specialized learning and development programs as part of The Asset Series. Some of these programs are targeted at developing specialized skills that will lead to an Asset certification. These programs are to be conducted by KPMG specialists using quality tools, techniques, methodologies through a combination of conceptual inputs, presentations, discussions, individual and group exercises, case studies, simulations, role-plays and experience sharing that will be followed by evaluation of acquired skills.

3 Assessor Certification Workshop Many options are better than one, especially when a company decides whom to promote and how to develop his management potential. An Overview Key Workshop Objectives Helping ensure a qualified and constant flow of talent pipeline with appropriate skill-sets provides the winning edge to organizations in a globally competitive environment. Therefore, it s critical to have the right people with right skills in custom-fit roles to define and implement an organization s strategic and operational initiatives. Assessment centers are regulary conducted by large organizations with leading people practices to identify, develop, place and promote talent. Assessments are conducted by observing a participant s performance when placed in a simulated professional situation in an otherwise unfamiliar business environment. An assessor plays a pivotal role in undertaking assessment of organizational personnel and fostering these are conducted in a fair, objective, professional and unbiased manner. The role of an assessor is often played by external consultants, HR personnel, line managers outside immediate team, skip level managers, etc. An assessor s evaluation has significant implications on critical organizational decisions spanning across recruitment, placement, career pathing, high-potential (Hi-Po) identification, development planning, succession planning and promotions. This requires specialized know how in utilizing related tools and evaluation techniques, understanding of the business context and personality types and an unbiased approach. Considering the increasing demand and relative shortage of specialised assessors, KPMG is organizing a two-day intensive program to build capability, develop expertise and certify professional ability to undertake assessments. Successful completion of this training workshop as per specified requirements will result in a KPMG Bronze Asset certification. To develop an in-depth understanding of assessment center types, methodology, tools and techniques To build capability for competency based assessments and evaluation To develop capability in observing individual performance in simulated situations and translate related behaviors To build capability to make accurate and informed assessments To hone skills and knowledge required to undertake objective and professional assessment Our Value Proposition Introduction to KPMG s Leadership Center concept for conducting leadership specific assessments A one-day simulated assessment center, where participants get an opportunity to experience live assessments Experience sharing with practitioners and KPMG Assessors KPMG certification of acquired skills. Participants will be awarded a Bronze Asset certificate on successful completion of training as per specified requirements. Select participants will get an opportunity to play the role of an Assessor on KPMG s advisory engagements. Exclusive KPMG Assessors Community membership. Continuous learning through community channels (communications, conference calls/video conference, etc.)

4 KPMG Asset Certification Program KPMG asset certification program starts from a Bronze Asset and progressively leads up to a Gold Asset certification KPMG ASSET CERTIFICATION Bronze Asset Program BRONZE All participants who complete the training program successfully (basis evaluation), shall be awarded a training completion Bronze Asset certificate An additional project completion Asset certificate can be achieved by candidates who complete a Bronze Asset project (play the role of an assessor in two Assessment/ Development center programs) and submit the project report* within a year Upon completing the above two, a participant would be certified as a KPMG Bronze certified Assessor Silver Asset Program Open only to Bronze certified Assessors SILVER Participants who complete the training program successfully (basis evaluation), shall be awarded a training completion Silver Asset certificate An additional project completion Asset certificate can be achieved by candidates who complete a Silver Asset project (play the role of an assessor in three Assessment/ Development center programs out of which one must be a KPMG engagement), submit the project report* and present one topic on Assessor community forum within a year Upon completing the above two, a participant would be certified as KPMG Silver certified Assessor Gold Asset Program Open only to Silver certified Assessors Participants who complete the training program successfully (basis evaluation), shall be awarded a training completion Gold Asset certificate GOLD An additional project completion Asset certificate can be achieved by candidates who complete a Gold Asset project (play the role of an assessor in four Assessment/ Development center programs out of which two must be on KPMG engagements), submit the project report*, present two topics on Assessor community forum, assess and mentor one Bronze certified Assessor and conduct one Bronze Asset program** within a year Upon completing the above, a participant would be certified as a KPMG Gold certified Assessor. * As per KPMG specified template and requirements **In close association with KPMG People & Change Advisory Services team

5 KPMG Asset Certification Program Course Content Customizing competency based assessments: Interlinking center objectives and approach to business requirements Differentiating between center types and levels Assessment, Development and Leadership centers Understanding competency frameworks, mapping competencies and creating related behavioral indicators - Mapping competencies to a talent development process Practical insights into the usage of psychometrics along with the sharing of live experiences. Comprehensive feedback report analyzing the strengths and areas of improvement for each participant. Selecting tools and exercises for an assessment center based on assesses and organizational requirements Utilizing technology to address speed and scale requirements of an organization Role of an assessor and critical skills required to be an assessor Mastering observation skills, capturing evidence and behavior reporting Preparing an assessment report Providing constructive assessment feedback to different personality types in real life situations Relating assessment to development - Creating development plans Live assessment center simulation comprising of BEI, group activities, role-play, blended exercises, case studies and moderated discussions Experience sharing session with practitioners on best practices and guidelines for competency based assessment Note: Participants are expected to complete a pre-workshop reading assignment prior to the training session.
