STUDENT S RIGHT TO CANCEL/REFUND POLICY If your application is not accepted for any reason, all monies paid will be refunded, minus the enrollment fee of $ You may withdraw from your program at any time during your enrollment period. If you cancel on or before seven (7) calendar days after your application is accepted, CPU will refund all tuition paid, less the enrollment fee of $ and the STRF assessment for California students. California Pacific University programs are offered at a distance, which means they are not provided in real time and neither are they location specific. Under California law, an institution offering a distance education program, where the instruction is not offered in real time shall transmit the first lesson and any materials to the student within seven (7) days after enrollment. You have the right to cancel the agreement and receive a full refund (minus any nonrefundable fees) before you receive the first lesson and materials up to the seventh day of enrollment. If this institution sent the first lesson and materials before an effective cancellation notice was received, this institution shall make a refund within forty-five (45) days after you return the materials to the University. Requests for cancellations and refunds should be made in writing or hand delivered to: The Registrar s Office, California Pacific University, 2860 Pinole Valley Rd. Ste. C, Pinole, CA The written notice of cancellation, if sent by mail, is effective when deposited in the mail, properly addressed, with proper postage. The written notice of cancellation need not take any particular form and, however expressed, it is effective if it shows that the student no longer wishes to be bound by the enrollment agreement. If the enrollment agreement is cancelled California Pacific University will refund the student any money he/she paid, less an enrollment fee of $ and the STRF fee, if applicable. No refund will be given if the student has completed more than sixty percent (60%) of the instruction and the student concerned will still be liable for any tuition due. California Pacific University shall transmit all of the lessons and other materials to the student if the student: (a) has fully paid for the educational program; and (b) after having received the first lesson and initial materials, requests in writing that all of the materials be sent. Please note: if the student has received federal student financial aid funds, the student is entitled to a refund of monies not paid from federal financial aid program funds. STUDENT TUITION RECOVERY FUND (STRF) You must pay the state-imposed assessment for the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) if all of the following applies to you: 1. You are a student in an educational program, who is a California resident, or are enrolled in a residency program, and prepay all or part of your tuition either by cash, guaranteed student loans, or personal loans, and 2. Your total charges are not paid by any third-party payer such as an employer, government program or other payer unless you have a separate agreement to repay the third party. You are not eligible for protection from the STRF and you are not required to pay the STRF assessment, if either of the following applies: 1. You are not a California resident, or are not enrolled in a residency program, or 2. Your total charges are paid by a third party, such as an employer, government program or other payer, and you have no separate agreement to repay the third party. The State of California created the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) to relieve or mitigate economic losses suffered by students in educational programs who are California residents, or are enrolled in a residency program attending certain schools regulated by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. You may be eligible for STRF if you are a California resident or are enrolled in a residency program, prepaid tuition, paid the STRF assessment, and suffered an economic loss as a result of any of the following: 1. The school closed before the course of instruction was completed. 2. The school's failure to pay refunds or charges on behalf of a student to a third party for license fees or any other purpose, or to provide equipment or materials for which a charge was collected within 180 days before the closure of the school. 3. The school's failure to payer reimburse loan proceeds under a federally guaranteed student loan program as required by law or to payer reimburse proceeds received by the school prior to closure in excess of tuition and other costs. 4. There was a material failure to comply with the Act or this Division within 30 days before the school closed or, if the material failure began earlier than 30 days prior to closure, the period determined by the Bureau. 5. An inability after diligent efforts to prosecute, prove, and collect on a judgment against the institution for a violation of the Act. However, no claim can be paid to any student without a social security number or a taxpayer identification number. Page 3 of 6 (Please continue on the reverse side)

LOANS Please note: a student enrolled in this institution is not eligible for federal financial aid programs. In general however, the consuming public needs to be aware that if a student obtains a loan for an educational program, the student will have the responsibility to repay the full amount of the loan plus interest, less the amount of any refund. Specifically, if the student is eligible for a loan guarantee by the federal or state government (while attending a qualifying institution) and the student defaults on the loan, both of the following may occur: (1) The federal or state government or a loan guarantee agency may take action against the student, including applying any income tax refund to which the person is entitled to reduce the balance owed on the loan. (2) The student may not be eligible for any other federal student financial aid at another institution or other government assistance until the loan is repaid. PLACEMENT SERVICES California Pacific University does not provide placement services for its graduates. LANGUAGE All instruction is provided in the English language only. For the purposes of this application, if English is not the student s primary language, and the student is unable to understand the terms and conditions of the enrollment agreement, the student shall have the right to obtain a clear explanation of the terms and conditions and all cancellation and refund policies in his or her primary language. NOTICE CONCERNING TRANSFERABILITY OF CREDITS AND CREDENTIALS EARNED AT OUR INSTITUTION The transferability of credits you earn at California Pacific University is at the complete discretion of an institution to which you may seek to transfer. Acceptance of the degree you earn in your BBA, MBA, MA, or Doctoral Program, is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer. If the degree that you earn at this institution is not accepted at the institution to which you seek to transfer, you may be required to repeat some or all of your coursework at that institution. For this reason you should make certain that your attendance at this institution will meet your educational goals. This may include contacting an institution to which you may seek to transfer after attending California Pacific University to determine if your degree will transfer. This institution has not entered into an articulation or transfer agreement with any other college or university. California Pacific University is a private, distance education provider approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. The use of the term "approval" or any variant on such wording means that California Pacific University has met minimum requirements under California law and should not be taken as an endorsement of this institution, or its programs, by the State of California, or the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. California Education Code requires California Pacific University to disclose to prospective students prior to enrollment that California Pacific University and its programs have not been accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education, and any know limitations of the degree. This includes the following: A student enrolled at California Pacific University is not eligible for federal financial aid programs. A graduate of a California Pacific University degree program is not eligible to sit for licensure exams in the state of California, or elsewhere. A degree program that is unaccredited or a degree from an unaccredited institution is not recognized for some employment positions, including, but not limited to, positions with the state of California. Most professional organizations, societies, states, and licensing jurisdictions have specific requirements for licensure, membership or certification. If licensing or credentialing is an objective, students are advised to first check the standards of their particular states, school districts, professional associations, and agencies for specific license requirements. California Pacific University is required to notify you in writing prior to executing an enrollment agreement that although this institution was approved to operate by the former Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education, this institution s application for reapproval to operate has not been reviewed by the current Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education under current California Law CEC 94802(c).
