3 PRESENTATION PARTICIPATE IN THE WORLDWIDE HOSPITALITY SCHOOL AWARDS THE INTERNATIONAL RENDEZ- VOUS OF THE INDUSTRY! This international competition is an opportunity for hotel groups to highlight their teams exemplary achievements in communication, marketing, innovation, human resources, social and environmental responsability, customer loyalty programs... For more than 10 years, the Worldwide Hospitality Awards, created by Georges Panayotis, Chairman and CEO MKG Group have undertaken the promotion of hospitality industry initiatives all around the world. The Hospitality Awards committee receives close to 150 applications in all categories from 25 countries on all 5 continents every year. They concern the 1st ten international hotel groups - representing more than 4 million rooms all around the world - as well as more recent brands, rising stars of an ever-changing industry. The Hospitality Awards thus are an excellent representation of the international hospitality industry diversity and help to reveal its innovative processes and concepts. At the XIth edition, the Worldwide Hospitality Schools Awards were launched. A gateway is established with international hotel management schools and future managers. For this edition, hospitality companies themselves may present a contributor to their young ambition and promising career. A major innovation has been introduced in 2012 with the possibility for the readers of Hospitality-ON to vote and give a trend of five nominees who will be presented to the International Jury. This one will make its own selection, on relatives categories, of 3 finalists who, in the last round of selection, will be submitted to the verdict of the attendants of the ceremony. This ceremony will take place on November 17th, 2012, at the InterContinental Paris Le Grand. 3

5 CATEGORIES 2014 BEST EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION (HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT SCHOOLS) This trophy rewards an innovating initiative that covers several fields (educational, sustainable development, international student exchange...). This action or mission aims at providing students with the necessary tools to be more operational in the catering and hospitality fields, and at strengthening the relationships between the trade and training institutions. BEST EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION (TECHNICAL COLLEGES) This trophy rewards an innovating initiative that covers several fields (educational, sustainable development, international student exchange...). This action or mission aims at providing students with the necessary tools to be more operational in the catering and hospitality fields, and at strengthening the relationships between the trade and training institutions. BEST PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS This trophy rewards a school graduate, who has been working for 5 years (maximum), and aged less than 30 years old. This young professional must distinguish himself by his academic results and a promising and/or successful career debut. A school will choose a forming student who will represent them or a hospitality company will propose one of its young employees BEST HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT SCHOOL This trophy, awarded to the Best Hospitality Management School, comes from the school rankings by human resource managers of the largest hotel groups, according to criteria ofthe training programs and courses, professional insertion rate, satisfaction and positive reputation of hospitality employers. 5

It guarantees that selection follows good procedures by defining the categories and rules of the competition. It also intervenes in the selection of finalists and the winner of certain categories (cf article 11). The jury will gather on October 16 th 2014 from 9am to 4pm at the Inter- Continental Paris Le Grand Hotel to select the finalists for certain categories (cf article 11). In case of a tie, President s choice is deciding. 6

12 REGULATIONS 2014 Article 1 Organizing company MKG Group, Limited company with a capital of 61,000 and head office at 5 rue de Dantzig Paris, registered in the Trade & Corporate Register under number RCS and represented by Mr Georges PANAYOTIS, President and CEO (hereafter designated as «organizing company» or «organizer») is organizing this November 17th, 2014, two international competitions called the «Worldwide Hospitality Awards» and the «Worldwide Hospitality School Awards», according to the methods described in these regulations. Article 2 Presentation of the event MKG Group undertook the valorisation of the hospitality industry s initiatives around the world with the Worldwide Hospitality Awards and the Worldwide Hospitality School Awards. This international competition is an opportunity for hoteliers and hotel schools to promote their teams exemplary achievements in the following categories: Worldwide Hospitality Awards : 1. Best communication campaign This Award will be attributed to distinguish a communication campaign developed by a hotel group or a brand for its domestic and/ or international market. It may include various communication tools: TV spots, radio, magazines, displays, Internet Best digital marketing strategy This Award will be attributed to distinguish a marketing operation involving a digital scope that stimulates hotel activity through partnerships, video campaign, creation of products, packages, concepts Best Initiative in Social Responsibility This award will be attributed to an initiative or program that shows a brand or hotel group s implication in sustainable development, fair trade, and/or the social responsibility of the company towards local population and staff, and/or tourist sites and natural resources. 4. Best initiative in Human Resources This Award will be attributed to a program that reveals the exemplary nature of its human resources policy in terms of recruitment, new employee integration, diversity, career development, performance assessment, motivation of personnel, company spirit. 5. Best innovation «Hotel» This award will be attributed to a new concept, a new service or an initiative by a hotel group / hotel brand or an independent hotel. It provides a new vision of comfort or better service performance in terms of general settings, space management, technology and services, conference venues, spa Best innovation «F&B» This award will be attributed to a new concept, a new service or an initiative by a hotel group / hotel brand or an independent hotel. It provides a new vision of comfort or better service performance in terms of dining concept, room-service, outlet management, banqueting, Best Hotelier France Each General Manager will be awarded according to the following criteria : business performance human and social dimension implication in the local community professional recognition by peers involvement in community life This award will be attributed to a General Manager, whatever his nationality, operating in France. The Best Hotelier France winner will be automatically selected to compete for the next year Best Hotelier International award. Only a General Manager with full responsibility of the hotel will be able to enter the competition. An award winner can t apply again before 10 years. 8. Best Hotelier International Each General Manager will be awarded according to the following criteria : business performance human and social dimension implication in the local community professional recognition by peers involvement in community life Only a General Manager with full responsibility of the hotel will be able to enter the competition. Best Promotion strategy for a tourism destination This award rewards an innovative territorial development strategy deployed by a French or international tourist destination (city, region, country) with a community approach. The aim is to reward a destination having undertaken a series of innovative approaches on social networks in e-reputation, monitoring, incentives and interactivity, promotion or even commercialization through social networks, or community animation (movement of greeters, ambassadors of destination, bloggers...). 10. Lifetime achievement «Iconic employee» This trophy will be awarded by the Advisory Board to an international hospitality employee who has left his/her mark on the industry for his/her initiatives and profesionnal path. 12

13 REGULATIONS 2014 (SUITE) 11.Lifetime achievement «Pioneer/Entrepreneur» This trophy will be awarded by the Advisory Board to an international hospitality personality who has left his/her mark on the industry as a pioneer, an innovator, a company manager and for his/her successful career. 12. Grand Prix Hospitality-ON This trophy will be awarded by the international Jury to an international hospitality company that has left its mark in 2013 through its achievements in four complementary areas: development, innovation, human resources and commercial performances. Worldwide Hospitality School Awards : 1. Best educational innovation (Hospitality management schools) This trophy rewards an innovating initiative that covers several fields (educational, sustainable development, international student exchange...). This action or mission aims at providing students with the necessary tools to be more operational in the catering and hospitality fields, and at strengthening the relationships between the trade and training institutions. 2. Best educational innovation (Technical college) This trophy rewards an innovating initiative that covers several fields (educational, sustainable development, international student exchange...). Best professional success This trophy rewards a school graduate, who has been working for 5 years (maximum), and is less than 30 years old. This young professional must distinguish himself by his academic results and a promising and/or successful career debut. His actions and missions must underline his potential and motivations to be part of the overall evolution of company and the hospitality industry. This student will aspire to a career within this industry at managerial levels. A school will choose a student who will represent them or a hospitality company will propose one of its young employees. 4. Best Hospitality Management School This trophy, awarded to the Best Hospitality Management School, comes from the school rankings by human resource managers of the largest hotel groups, according to criteria ofthe training programs and courses, professional insertion rate, satisfaction and positive reputation of hospitality employers. Article 4 Conditions for participation This competition is open to all Hotel Groups / Corporate Hotel Chains / Voluntary Chains / Independent Hotels / Franchised Hotels / Residence hotels / Hotel Schools / Hospitality related training programs / Hospitality Secondary schools and any person representing a hotel worldwide (hereafter called «candidates»), with exception to employees of the organizing company and their families.. Article 5 Announcement of the competition This competition is publicized via the following media: Official website of the event: / Press Partner of the event and Hospitality ON Magazine/ ings etc. Article 6 Modes of participation To participate in the competition, candidates will have to complete the registration form, pay registration fees, and send their presentation files to the organizing company. Each application entered in the Worldwide Hospitality Awards and Worldwide Hospitality School Awards is subject to a questionnaire written by the Advisory Board. The applications are presented in the form of PowerPoint or PDF slideshows, in English or French, responding to the different points in the questionnaire, as well a one-page summary of their application in English only. This obligatory presentation may be accompanied by supporting documents: brochures, photos, CD, video. Moreover, all candidates must provide a high-definition image of their brand s logo. Finalists will provide a one-minute video illustrating their dossier. These elements will be used during the ceremony. Complete application files will be uploaded online on the website of Hospitality ON ( by the candidates, authorizing the organizer to publish them on its websites. In addition, the participant must ensure that the images, sounds and videos are provided free of rights. Applications may be received from April 7 th, 2014 until October 3 rd, 2014 included. Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these rules and regulations. Article 7 Participation fees 650 euros tax excl. per application for a hotel group / chain or hotel belonging to a hotel group for the 1st to 3rd application / 550 euros tax excl. per application for the 4th and 5th applications and 450 euros tax excl. per application for the 6th and thereafter) / 450 euros tax excl. per application for independent properties or hotel schools. Participation in the competition will only be confirmed upon reception of the duly completed application(s), as well as the payment of application fees. As soon as the registration form is duly signed, the payment must be received upon invoice reception, prior to the event taking 13

The jury will gather on Thursday, October 16 th, 2014 from 9am to 4pm at the InterContinental Paris Le Grand Hotel to select the finalists for certain categories (cf article 11). In case of a tie, the President has the deciding vote. 9.2 The jury of the Worldwide Hospitality Schools Awards consists of a President and twenty or so representatives from hotel groups, members of the Advisory Board of the Worldwide Hospitality Awards. It will meet on Friday October 17 th, 2014 between 3pm and 5pm at the InterContinental Paris Le Grand hotel to select the finalists for certain categories (cf article 11). In case of a tie, the President s choice will be deciding. 9.3 The jury selecting finalists and winners for the «Best General Manager» (all categories), «Best professional success», «Best Hospitality Management School» and «Grand Prix Hospitality-ON» categories is made up of the editorial staff of Hospitality-ON. This jury is made up of a President and a dozen members and will meet on Friday October 24 st, 2014 at MKG Group. In case of a tie, the President s choice will be deciding. Selection of the members of the different juries is done only by the organizing company and cannot be contested by the candidates. The list of members will not be revealed in order to avoid any attempts of corruption. Article 10 Selection criteria and methods Applications will be evaluated according to the three following criteria: 1. The innovative aspects of the projects submitted 2. The exemplary quality of the operation and its capacity to strengthen or expand 3. Efficiency of actions taken in terms of economic benefits Article 11 Selection process The determination of finalists and laureates follows a three-step process with the intervention of a specific jury according to categories. First stage: vote by web users registered on the Hospitality- ON.com website During the period from October 6 th to October 16 th, 2014, they may express their preference for dossiers online, in order to sway the selection submitted to each specific jury. The organizing company cannot be held responsible for voting outcomes that are the result of late submissions. Second stage: intervention of juries I) Shortlisting by each specific jury The International jury, meeting for a deliberation session on October 16 th 2014, examines the applications presented in order to determine the finalists in the following categories: a. Best communication campaign b. Best digital marketing strategy c. Best Innovation «Hotel» d. Best Innovation «F&B» II) Selection 1) The International jury, meeting for a deliberation session on October 16 th 2014, examines the applications presented in order to determine the finalists and the winners in the following categories: a. Best Initiative in Social Responsibility b. Best initiative in Human Resources «People & Talent management» 2) Jury composed by the members of the editorial staff of Hospitality-ON will select finalists and winners, Friday, October 24 st 2014, in the following categories: a. Best General Manager «Luxury hotel» b. Best General Manager «Economy/Midscale/Upscale hotel» c. Best Promotion strategy for a tourism destination d. Best professional success e. Best Hospitality Management School f. Grand Prix Hospitality-ON 3) Jury composed by members of the Advisory Board, meeting October 17 th 2013, will select the winner of the category: a. Best educational innovation (hospitality management schools) b. Best educational innovation (Technical college) c. Lifetime Achievement «Iconic employee» d. Lifetime Achievement «Pioneer/Entrepreneur» Scoring system: Scoring will be carried out as follows: The juries will attribute one point for one candidate of each category in concern The sum of these points will determine the ranking and the winner for the concerned categories. In case of a draw for the 1st and 3rd rank, the Jury will proceed to another vote to decide between the two candidates. Once the results are established, the presidents of the different juries will deliver the results to the court bailiff at the end of deliberations. Third stage: the electronic public vote during the awards ceremony It will take place November 12 h, 2013 at the InterContinental Paris 14

15 REGULATIONS 2014 (SUITE) Le Grand, the public will have electronic voting remotes provided by the supplier, and will contribute their own vote, under control by the bailiff who will also draw up an official report of voting,, to determine the winners among the finalists designated by the different juries for the following categories: a. Best communication campaign b. Best digital marketing strategy c. Best Innovation «Hotel» d. Best Innovation «F&B» Article 12 Awards A diploma attesting to finalist status and signed by the President of the Organizing Company, the President of the ceremony, the President of the Advisory Board and the President of the Jury will be presented to finalists. A trophy will be presented to the winner of each of the categories. These prizes have no monetary value. Article 13 Identification of winners and elimination from participation Candidates authorize verification of their identity and of all information on the registration form. Submissions in which the questionnaire is incomplete and/or provides incomplete or false contact information will not be taken into consideration and will result in elimination from the event. Article 14 Modification of the dates of the competition and number of prizes The organizing company will not be held responsible in any way should it be forced to cancel this competition, due to force majeure or events beyond its control. Moreover, it reserves the right to extend or limit the participation deadline, postpone or change conditions, and its responsibility cannot be engaged because of this. Additions and modifications of these rules may eventually be published during the competition. They will be considered as annexes to the present rules. Any modifications will be the object of preliminary information by all appropriate means after delivery of the amendment to the Bailiff agent of the present regulations. Article 15 Use of winners identity By participating in the competition participants accept the unrestricted use of their name and surname, position and city of residence and photograph, as well as their voice, without reserve, in exchange for no remuneration, rights or other advantage other than the trophy / diploma. Article 16 Acceptance of the regulation Participants in this competition accept the present regulations in their entirety deposited at the Court Bailiffs (S.C.P. JP. LOUVION - P. LOUVION & C. LOUVION; Bailiffs de Justice Associe s; 7, rue Sainte Anastase PARIS Cedex 03). It must be noted that the President of each jury, will deliver the names of finalists and/ or the winners in each category, to the court bailiff who will deli- ver them in a sealed envelope during the ceremony that will take place Monday, November 17th, Article 17 Interpretation of the regulations and attribution of competency Any eventual contestation of the interpretation of the present regulations will be considered by the organizing company alone. There will be no answer to any written or verbal inquiry concerning the mechanism of the competition or its interpretation. Article 18 Data Protection Act Personal data of participants in the competition will be collected and handled electronically. In accordance with the law n on January 6 of 1978, each participant may exercise their right of opposition, of access and of rectification of the data concerning them by addressing their request by mail to the address of the competition. Article 20 Transfer of copyright Participants in this competition accept the cession of competitor s copyrights to the organizing company. Participants in this competition give all their rights to the organizing company and authorize the commercial use and exploitation of their contribution(s) to the competition with no compensation. Participants affirm they are the author of contributions submitted and guarantee that the works submitted are their original works. Participants assume responsibility for any authorizations required by third parties that have directly or indirectly participated in the realization of the submission and/or who estimate they have any exercisable rights. The participant will assume any charges and responsibility for expenses incurred. Generally speaking, the participant guarantees the organizers of this competition against any legal recourse, action or claim that could be made for any reason by any third party, upon the exercise of the Organizer s rights to use application materials submitted for the competition or any other information released as per the present regulations.
