INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND BUSINESS... at your EXPERTISE service Now more than ever, international trade and investment are the engines that drive the global economy. It s no coincidence that the world s fastest growing countries and companies are those that are most engaged in global trade and investment. But as international commerce has grown in importance, the rules of the game have become more complicated.

Trade policy and international business now intersect with environmental issues, competition policy, intellectual property rights, labor and human rights issues, and domestic and foreign policy. Governments and companies face a dizzying array of rules: global guidelines in the World Trade Organization, an ever-expanding number of free trade agreements, and trade laws and business practices of individual countries. The language of international trade sometimes requires an interpreter. C&M International speaks the language.

C&M I N T E R N A T I O N A L What we re about... We re about strategic, creative thinking... The world of trade and investment policy is a world of tremendous opportunity. Our strength is in applying a broad big picture trade policy expertise to the specific, bottom-line objectives of the organizations we advise. We re about knowledge and information... Success in international trade and investment depends on knowing political, economic, and personal dynamics that lie behind the rules and regulations. That s why we specialize in providing eyes and ears for our clients, both in the policy community in Washington and internationally. We talk directly to the policymakers in the Administration, Congress, government ministries worldwide, corporations and international organizations. We re about solving problems and finding opportunities... Our business is to help businesses and governments talk to each other, so that problems can be solved. We re about straightforward, candid advice... Whether it s political risk analysis, policy counseling, or international business strategy development, C&M International provides advice that is based on the facts, sifted through the judgment and experience of our staff, and presented in a straight talk format. We re about excellence, responsiveness, and personalized attention... At C&M International, we understand that the better we know our clients, the better we can anticipate their needs, solve their problems rapidly, and help them grow. It s a personal approach, and it works.

C&M I N T E R N A T I O N A L Who we are... We re policy people. And we believe in getting results. As former trade negotiators, we know how trade policy is made from the inside out. As former diplomats, we understand the critical link between trade policy and the dynamics of foreign affairs. As economists, we know that economics makes the most sense when it s placed squarely in the context of political and business reality. Our experience has given us the knowledge that trade policy is made by the interaction of governments both the U.S. and foreign, international organizations, and the private sector. Our staff is composed of strong trade policy professionals with extensive geographic and issue-specific expertise. C&M International s staff has hands-on experience in trade policy and business affairs in Asia, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and on issues ranging from agriculture to intellectual property rights, corporate social responsibility to industrial policy, APEC to WTO, ASEAN to NAFTA. For more on who we are, see the enclosed bio sketches or visit our website

C&M I N T E R N A T I O N A L Our clients... C&M International represents a broad range of publicand private-sector clients, including Fortune 500 companies, overseas multinationals, U.S. and non-u.s. trade associations, and foreign governments. Our client base encompasses a broad range of industries, including consumer products, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and biotechnology, information technology, agricultural marketing, mining, apparel manufacturing and retailing, and a range of services sectors.
