3 A VM can be one of eight Types Economy, Standard, Advanced, High-Performance, Double High 15, Double-High Performance, Quad High 30 or Quad High Performance. VM specifications and performance increase via each option. Note: It is necessary to stop a VM, before the Performance Type of a VM can be modified. Users must check that the specification of the VM Type chosen, meets the minimum requirements for any OS / Application to be run on it. Add VMs / Load Balancers / Additional Disks The steps to add VMs, load balancers, and additional disks are described in the following procedures: Please note that when naming a VM, SLB or Additional disk, the following character restrictions apply: Maximum number of letters: Up to 256 one-byte or 85 two-byte characters Non-usable characters: [ ] (single quotation) and [ ] (double quotation) It is NOT possible to put the same names to VMs, SLBs, and additional disks within the same virtual system. Adding VMs Drag and Drop Figure 4 - Adding VMs Users can add VMs by dragging and dropping a VM icon from the Additional Option area to the Configuration Map area. Users can select the network segment (DMZ, SECURE1, or SECURE2) as a destination. Drop the icon into a target network segment on the Configuration Map area. The Add Virtual Network button can be used to add up to 8 additional Network cards to the VM, across all available Network segments. Once set, the network cards cannot be changed and will remain till the VM is returned. Date: 17/11/2014 Page 3 of 14

Load Balancers icons are dropped into the same network segment as the VMs. Additional Disks can also be selected from the same location, but disk icons are dropped onto the required target VM themselves. NOTE: It is necessary to stop the VM before an additional disk can be added to an existing VM. There are two types of Load Balancer to choose between, the standard performance Load Balancer, and the higher performance Turbo Load Balancer. It is not possible to change between performances types once deployed, although further Load Balancers can be added. Date: 17/11/2014 Page 4 of 14
