3 Chambers Associate A. B. A. To search for law firms, under Search Firms choose your search criteria including (1) the name of the firm, (2) firm location by state, and/or (3) firm practice areas. Then click on Search. B. You can also sort law firms: 1. Alphabetically by clicking on A-Z list of Firms ; 2. By Size by clicking on View all firms by size ; and 3. By revenue by clicking on View all firms by revenue. 3

5 B B. Two search options are available: 1. To locate a firm or a lawyer by name, enter the name(s) in the corresponding search boxes. Then click Search. 2. To search for Chambers recommended lawyers and law firms, click on the state and/or practice area drop down boxes. Then click Search. 5

6 Martindale A. A. Search for either lawyers or organizations (law firms or companies) by clicking on the Search Tools tab, and then choosing either Lawyers, Law Firms or Companies. 6

7 B. C. D. B. After clicking on Lawyers the following page will appear. It is recommended that you include a practice area, city and state/province in your search. C. If you are specifically trying to find Columbia Law School alumni, make sure to enter in the Law School line some derivative of Columbia, including Columbia Law School, Columbia University School of Law or just Columbia. 8 E. F. E. Your results will look similar to the above search. Here we specifically searched for Columbia Law School graduates in New York, NY practicing bankruptcy. F. Depending on your needs, feel free to further narrow your search results by selecting the additional options found on the left hand side of the page, including ratings & reviews, practice areas, practice/industry group, languages, documents, job title and admit state etc 8

9 G. H. I. G. If you chose to conduct a law firm or organizations search, after clicking on either Law Firms or Companies you will be brought to the above listed page. H. It is recommended that you include a practice area, city and state/province in this search. I. Then click Search. 9

10 J. K. L. J. Your results will look similar to the above search for which we specifically searched for law firms with bankruptcy practices in New York, NY. K. Depending on your needs, feel free to further narrow your results by selecting additional options found on the left hand side of the page, including ratings & reviews, county, city, practice areas, firm size, practice/industry group, languages, documents, bar register practice areas, diversity profile and transactional activity etc L. Narrowing your results by firm size is a helpful way to find additional employers. 10

11 NALP Directory of Legal Employers A. A. To search for law firms, enter one or more search options, then click Search. Your search results can be further refined or expanded on the next screen. 11

12 B. B. 1Ls, Domestic LL.M.s and Foreign LL.M.s should make sure to select the appropriate category under Organizations that hire. 12

13 C. C. In this instance, we ran a search on all law firms with New York, NY locations. You can further refine or expand your search when you are on this screen. For example, joint degree candidates should make sure to check off Joint Degree Candidates under Organizations that accept summer program applications from: 13

14 Super Lawyers A. B. A. Click on Search Lawyers to find top rated lawyers in the U.S. Enter a keyword (practice area, name of lawyer etc...), then click on Find Lawyers. B. You can also conduct an advanced search by clicking on Advanced Search. 14

15 C. C. Click on Browse Lawyers to sort lawyers by popular issues or markets. 15

16 D. E. D. Click on Search Law Firms to find law firms with top rated lawyers in the U.S. Enter a keyword (practice area, name of law firm etc...), then click on Find Law Firms. E. You can also conduct an advanced search by clicking on Advanced Search. 16

17 Vault A. Vault can be accessed directly at vault.com, but in order to receive unlimited, premium access to Vault Career Insider, you must create an account. To access the account creation page, log into Symplicity and access Vault via the link found under Shortcuts. This page can also be found through any link to Vault from our Office of Career Services webpage. B. Once you create an account, you can access Vault from any internet portal. 17

18 C D. C. Click on Log In in the top right hand corner in order to receive unlimited, premium access to Vault. D. Then click on Law under Employer Rankings. This will bring you to a variety of Law Firm Rankings. 18

19 E. E. Various Law Firm Rankings are available, and it is recommended you browse them at your leisure. For example, you should take time to explore any of the following: Vault Law 100, The Best Law Firms to Work For, The Best Law Firms for Diversity, The Best Law Firms in Each Practice Area, The Best Law Firms in Each U.S. Region, Partner Prestige Rankings, and Summer Associate Program rankings. F. Recognize that although helpful, Vault rankings are prestige/reputation rankings, and should not be the only resource that dictates your firm choices. It is important to seek out other sources and weigh other factors when deciding between law firms. 19
