12 Middlesex County Leads the Way! 542 people died in crashes on N.J roads last year, distracted driving cited as a major reason. Route 1 in Middlesex County Among Deadliest Roads For Pedestrians in Tri-State Area Highway Claimed Lives of 27+ Pedestrians in 26-Mile Stretch Since 2001 ARTICLE APRIL 6, 2014 The 56 deaths on Middlesex County roads were the highest in the state.. In 2011 Middlesex County had more fatal accidents on its roadways than any other county in New Jersey. Middlesex County records the most fatal accidents in New Jersey in 2013 Middlesex County had the most deaths. 12
13 Reaching Tweens and Teens Web-based program designed for parents and young teens (13 and 14) Teens spend increasing time away from parents and more time with peers Focus on key safety issues teens will face when riding as passengers or as they prepare to drive. Highlights 5 safety non-negotiables: Always wear a seat belt Never distract the driver Never ride with a driver who has been drinking or taking drugs Never ride with drivers who have too little experience Avoid drivers they know are unsafe 13
