2 The following document profiles a select number of summer programs hosted by American law schools of interest to foreign lawyers and law students. The first section covers programs taking place in the U.S., while the second covers programs taking place abroad. Unless otherwise specified, the information provided refers to programs taking place in the summer of In general, these programs are offered yearly, and cover the same material. Be enrolled in a law degree program at a U.S. law school accredited by the American Bar Association or at a foreign law school with equivalent standards and have completed the first year. Exceptions: Persons with direct experience in the human rights field that do not hold a degree in a human rights related field or those currently pursuing a degree in a non-human rights related are eligible to apply. The committee will review academic and professional experience as well as the statement of interest in order to determine if the applicant is a good candidate for the Academy.
