4 CRIPS - Objectives The overall objective of the CRIPS project is to contribute to the enhancement of health in the Kenyan rural communities in particular in crisis situations. Project purpose is to improve the capacities of crisis preparedness and the incident and emergency health care both in higher education and among the local health care stakeholders. 4

5 CRIPS - Results Result 1: The implementation of the Joint Master s Degree Programme in Global Health Care has been planned and the programme has been piloted Result 2: A global health care repository has been established at the University of Eastern Africa Baraton and it is in active local use 5

6 CRIPS Activities Result area 1 Developing the model of curriculum implementation Building up the network of local incident and emergency health care stakeholders Building the online platform for the Master s Programme Planning student and teacher mobility Invitational seminar on the incident and emergency health care at UEAB Intensive joint workshop on Global Health Care for the students and teachers of the Master s programme and for the local stakeholders at the UEAB Result area 2 Formulation of relevant policies & practices related to the repository Identification and acquisition of software and hardware Improving the internet access at the UEAB Workshop for the partner universities library, registry and IT staff in Arcada/Diak Training of the faculty and local users on the use of the repository at the UEAB 6
