SAE Institute in Oxford is currently growing and as such we are now looking to grow our staff too. We are seeking qualified full-time or part-time Lecturers for our current and new Music Business programmes. Programme Lecturers selection criteria: A Postgraduate qualification in a related field. Relevant industry experience. Proficient with industry-standard equipment and software. Teaching experience. Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, be highly organised and possess good time management skills. Must have rights to live and work in UK. Desirable topic expertise: Entrepreneurship, Business management and accounting Music Law (contracts), copyright and IP Extensive knowledge in Recording, Live and Publishing sectors Marketing, advertising and consumer psychology Awareness of the creative and cultural industries Qualification in Education or fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. 2 Position Description Title: Lecturer Business Division: Responsible to: Oxford SAE UK Campus Academic Coordinator / Programme Coordinator 1. Primary Objectives of Job: The Lecturer is responsible for teaching and providing support to the Campus Academic Coordinator and / or Senior Lecturer in the monitoring and review of academic programmes at SAE Institute. The Lecturer contributes to curriculum development initiatives, delivers formal lectures, tutorials and workshops, and supervises students in the completion of their research and creative projects. The Lecturer ensures that designated areas of study are effectively delivered and assessed in accordance with approved course specifications and module narratives and the relevant the Institute s policies and procedures, and assesses student work fairly, accurately and in a timely fashion. 2. Key Relationships: i. Students ii. Campus Academic Coordinator iii. Programme Coordinator iv. Senior Lecturer(s) 3. Key accountabilities that are part of the role: v. Ensure effective implementation of the Institute s policies and procedures; vi. Enhance the quality of the educational experience for students; vii. Support and implement the strategic directions of the Institute; viii. Ensure commitment to professional excellence in leaning and teaching ; ix. Maintain and enhance professional development and scholarly, creative and Industry knowledge. 4. Key Performance Indicators: i. Contribute to maintaining harmonious working relationships within the Institute;

3 ii. Demonstrated performance in teaching, evidenced by positive feedback from students, staff and other stakeholders. iii. Successfully develop and maintain internal and external staff and client relationships; iv. Punctual and accurate assessment and record keeping; v. Punctual attendance; vi. Ensure attendance of all the Institute s events as required; vii. Participate in the development of academic course content at the Institute; viii. Familiarity with the Institute s policies and procedures; ix. All duties are carried out and completed as directed; x. Implementation of the Institute s management decisions and policies; xi. Timeliness in performance of duties. 7. Key Competencies: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: i. Be responsible for the teaching and learning activities in units and to facilitate student learning outcomes by: i. Preparing and delivering lectures, ii. iii. iv. ii. Preparing and running tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, or studio sessions as required; iii. Being available for student consultation on a regular basis; Maintain current Industry knowledge in the delivery field; Start and finish lectures, tutorials and classes on time; Participation in the Institute s Performance Review and Professional Development Programmes; v. Participate in research activities designed to inform the Institute on innovations in teaching and learning practice; vi. Prepare students for examinations and other assessment activities; vii. viii. Be available during examinations and, where possible, attend examinations for the purpose of clarifying examination paper content if required; Provide examination details and examination and special examinations papers according to published deadlines; ix. Submit final grades in accordance with approved policies and published deadlines, and report on final grading to the unit coordinator; x. Provide appropriate feedback to students about their performance in the unit; xi. xii. Keep accurate records of all enrolled students performance using the Institute s student administration system and transmit the records to academic administration staff; Moderate marking in consultation with the Senior Lecturer and / or Campus Academic Coordinator;

Ensure that all administrative tasks associated with the teaching are completed on time; Appropriately archive student work once assessed; To monitor and record student attendance at lecturers, seminars and tutorials, as appropriate, and report repeat absenteeism to academic administration; To be responsible for equipment and stock, where applicable; To report relevant hardware and software faults and requirements; To attend relevant meetings, including Assessment Boards, Boards of Studies, staff meetings, and staff development sessions as required; Demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to the Institute s vision and business plan; To be responsible for relevant matters of health and safety; To ensure effective implementation of all relevant policies and procedures. Ensure that all students enrolled in a module has access to all the necessary module narratives and assignment guidelines, and well as the programme handbook, on or before the first week of their enrolment; Respond to student and staff queries on a timely basis; Schedule regular on-campus student consultation times to occur regularly during the trimester. During these times the lecturer should be available for the provision student support, and to answer student queries. Be mindful of a student s need for care and support, particularly in a student s first year of study and be alert to a student s potential need for assistance and to refer students to the appropriate person or service who can assist, eg. provide advice or counselling when aware of students who are having difficulties this should be documented in the student administration system; Ensure that students in their first semester or trimester of study are particularly supported through the provisions of the Learning and Teaching Policy and the Student Assessment policy; Represent and promote the Institute at formal events. General administrative duties relating to academic support for students; Undertake the role of Unit Coordinator as required; Undertake other duties relevant to the classification as required. 8. Selection Criteria: i. Demonstrated high level of communication skills both verbal and written;

5 ii. A Masters degree in a related field, or Hons degree and a PG Cert Education (en route to a Masters qualification, attending with demonstrable evidence of satisfactory progress); iii. Relevant industry experience; iv. Teaching experience; v. Proven organisational skills; vi. Ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines; vii. Adept in the use of the required technologies; viii. Familiar with using the Internet and ; ix. Demonstrated client service orientation; x. Knowledge of the relevant disciplinary area; xi. Ability to work in and foster a harmonious working environment; xii. Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities.
