Dr. Helen Whitener Tester EDUCATION Bachelor of Arts, English/Drama Lenoir Ryne College Master of Arts, Psychology Appalachian State University Doctor of Ministry, Congregational Development Virginia Theological Seminary WORK HISTORY August 2007 Rector (Part-time) Church of the Mediator Meridian, Mississippi March 2002 to May 2005 Deacon Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Crystal Springs, Mississippi October 1996 to February 2001 Chaplain, Care Facility Hospice Ministries Jackson, Mississippi Helen, as she prefers to be addressed, is a retired Priest and comes to us from North Carolina by way of Mississippi. She is married to Charles (a retired Priest) with daughters in Watertown (who is a Priest and Oconomowoc. She wanted to move to Wisconsin to be closer to her daughters, especially to the one in Watertown who is pregnant. She called the Diocese office to inquire if there was an opportunity in the Diocese and was referred to us. The Vestry felt that Helen was the one God had intended to lead us on our journey. They decided to call Helen to be our Priest-in-Charge at their October meeting. She will be part-time, but is flexible with her time. She will begin the first Sunday in December, the second Sunday of Advent, and will be living in the rectory. We hope that everyone will work together to make Helen welcome and will participate in the work we need to do to enable us to grow and do God s work in the community.
