1 Campers ages 7 13 will learn about fishing techniques, conservation, marine biology and will participate in fun environmental fishing games. Our Angling weeks are filled with many cool fishing adventures. Campers will explore the aquatic environment; learn about fish biology, knot tying, tackle, and how to tie flies & jigs. Fishing camp field trips will take anglers freshwater and saltwater fishing, swimming, and on a drift boat adventure each Friday. Our Marine weeks offer campers the unique opportunity to discover our ocean environment. They will learn about marine animals, sharks, creatures of the deep and their habitats and also explore the wetlands. Marine camp field trips will have marine biologists exploring, swimming and snorkeling with reef fish, visiting coastal hammocks and they will also study the marine life while fishing aboard a drift boat each Friday. These camps are remarkably hands-on and teach young anglers and aspiring marine biologists to be stewards of the environment.. 3 IGFA FISHING CAMP CONFIRMATION/ INFORMATION CAMP RESERVATIONS: Camp reservations are not confirmed until payment and Hold Harmless* have been received and you have received a confirmation from IGFA staff. *Without this form, campers WILL NOT be allowed on field trips. PAYMENT: Payments for camp sessions are due upon registration. Payments for after care are due daily. Cancellations made at least 10 working days prior to the camp session will be charged a $60 processing fee. Cancellations made 2-9 business working days prior to the camp week will be charged a $75 processing fee. No refunds will be processed with only a 1 business day cancellation notice. If the program is cancelled by IGFA, a full refund will be given. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: Please arrive Monday by 8:45am for check-in. You must sign your child IN and OUT daily. FREE before care is available from 8:00am to 9:00am. Please pay attention to the camp times, especially for field trips, we must leave at the scheduled time. Every Friday campers need to check in at 7:35am (except if there is a holiday). The bus leaves promptly at 7:45 am. Don t be left behind! ***NEW SUMMER CAMP 2015 TEMPORARY LOCATION: New Life Charter Academy 3260 Stirling Road Hollywood, FL CAMP HOURS: Camp hours are from 9:00am to 4:00pm. After care is available from 4pm-6pm for $20.00 an hour. NEW SIGN-IN & SIGN-OUT PROCEDURES: New drop off procedures will require parents to remain in their vehicles while dropping off their children. A staff member will meet the parents outside with the roster and will walk the children into the school. Parking spaces are very limited so we ask that parents complete and turn in the forms prior to camp. If there is an urgent need and you must park, please park in the spaces on the south side of the building. You MAY NOT park in any spaces labeled CHIROPRACTOR. You may also park in the Office Plaza building across the street. DRESS CODE AND LUNCH: Each camper will receive an IGFA tee shirt. Campers must wear the IGFA T- shirt daily. Additional shirts will be available for $8.00 each during Open House on May 16 from 10am-12pm and May from 10am-4pm. Campers can wear casual dress: shorts, IGFA tee shirt, tennis shoes and socks (no sandals), hat or cap. Sunscreen, a light jacket and poncho are suggested. Each camper MUST bring a bag lunch daily. Food will not be refrigerated so please pack a non-perishable lunch that will not spoil in the heat. If your child is attending Angling 2 or Angling 4, please provide an extra T-shirt since the water parks require that camp shirts be worn in the water. ***WATER BOTTLES ARE A GOOD IDEA WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR REFILLING*** RESTRICTIONS: A backpack may be brought with the suggested items mentioned above. 6 INTERNATIONAL GAME FISH ASSOCIATION Summer Camp Rules and Regulations 1. An official IGFA Camp tee shirt must be worn EACH DAY. 2. Campers must keep hands and feet to themselves. 3. Use of bad language and profanity at IGFA Camp is prohibited. 4. We have a NO tolerance policy for BULLYING at camp this is strictly prohibited! 5. The following items are permitted and should be labeled with the camper s name: hat, poncho, light jacket, towel, water shoes, bathing suit and a change of clothes. 6. Campers will be assigned equipment for fishing and therefore are not permitted to bring their own fishing equipment. 7. IGFA Camp is not responsible for any misplaced, lost or stolen items. 8. Campers may never go anywhere by themselves. 9. Campers must maintain respect for each other and the counselors at all times. Disciplinary Procedures 1. First Offense: A verbal warning will be administered. Staff will talk to the child to explain the problem and review acceptable behavior. 2. Second Offense: A disciplinary form will be completed and signed by staff and child. A copy of the form will be given to the parent. Staff will advise the Summer Camp Director, who will review the offense. The child will be given a time out. A time out may include the child not participating in activities that may include fishing, games, etc. 3. Third Offense: Child may be suspended or expelled from the camp and/or field trips. Please note that steps may be skipped if the offense warrants such action. All campers sign a Camp Rules Contract on Monday of each week after staff explains each rule and procedures.
