Since 2009, I have been fortunate to serve as a Director (co-chairing SAYLA's Courthouse Tour and Judicial Reception), Treasurer and Vice-President. During my tenure, I have come to understand the services and resources that SAYLA has to offer its members, and have learned how best to implement our programs to help young lawyers. As a board, we have endeavored to bring new programs and events to our members in an effort to encourage our entire membership to become more involved, to network with one another, and to take pride in the profession we have all chosen. It will be an honor to continue my service and I look forward to building on our strong foundation.

I have been an active SAYLA member since attending St. Mary's and have served on the Board of Directors for the past two years. As a SAYLA director, I have co-chaired the Social committee and the annual SAYLA Scramble, raising over $8,000 each year for the SAYLA Foundation and local charities. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the State Bar ENRLS, am chair-elect for the Witte Society Steering Committee, serve on several local non-profit committees and am a graduate of the Real Estate Council's Leadership program. Additionally, through my employment at Brown & Ortiz, P.C., I have established strong relationships with San Antonio's leaders including members of City Council, local business, real estate and community leaders. Through these relationships and my commitment to SAYLA, I can help SAYLA establish strong ties with area organizations and leaders and help make SAYLA an even stronger organization and advocate for my fellow young lawyers. As Vice-President, I would like to continue those efforts. We can continue to be and train better leaders in our community in how we interact with each other, by engaging in pro bono service, and by educating our community about the rule of law and our roles in

3 maintaining it. We also need to recognize and promote excellence in our field and educate future generations about what we do. We can also do a better job coordinating our efforts with the San Antonio Bar Associationsomething I hope to continue to build on from my service as a Director. I have served on the SAYLA Board of Directors since I have served as Co-Chair on the following committees: Family Fun Day, Grants & Awards, Trial Skills, and Mentor/Mentee. I have great working relationships with many on the SAYLA Board of Directors and Executive Board. For the past several years, I have worked with the Texas Young Lawyers Association and St. Mary's University School of Law to organize and moderate a panel discussion of young lawyers about the legal market, transition to practice, and what law students can do to find their first legal job. I am a Director on the St. Mary's Law Alumni Association's San Antonio Chapter. Last year, I made a lot of great new friends when I participated in the Association of Corporate Counsel's local chapter's Ethics Follies CLE musical. SAYLA is a worthwhile organization and the friendships made here will last throughout our careers. I am currently co-chair of the SAYLA Scramble which benefits local charities in San Antonio. I believe that my involvement with SAYLA and various organizations in the community, along with my work experience and contacts made through my participation with different groups in the community, will be beneficial in supporting SAYLA and the different activities that SAYLA sponsors. I have also worked with several local law firms, students and businesses to help with SAYLA contributions, involvement, sponsorship and participation. As a young lawyer, I believe SAYLA is a very important and an essential organization for the betterment of the legal profession in San Antonio. This past year as a SAYLA board member has been rewarding and I look forward to working with the Executive committee in this new role, if elected. As a board member I worked on the Healthy Living Initiative and the Publicity/Website committees. Not only do I have experience with both situations, but my experience as a special ed. teacher has given me added skills, such as working with a varying group of individuals for the benefit of others. A key to any organization includes cultivating new membership, along with retaining current members. This is done by creating and offering a wide variety of organizational opportunities that need to be facilitated by the Board. I appreciate the time commitment required and understand its necessity to have a successful and productive Board. I believe I am an effective communicator and I will bring a fresh prespective to the Board, drawing from my varied career experiences. It's therefore in every attorney's best interest to be involved in SAYLA in order to build life-long professional relationships, and I think SAYLA should continue to capitalize on this demographic factor. Additionally, though I enjoy the SAYLA luncheons and happy hour events, I think the addition of alternative events, such as the healthy living CLE, charity runs, and the networking events with other young professional associations in San Antonio, is an excellent way to ensure that SAYLA offers opportunities that cater to the varying schedules and interests of its growing membership. I would work with the other members of the Board to ensure this trend continues, but, even if not chosen for a board position, would enjoy helping SAYLA in whatever capacity needed. While I have only recently relocated to San Antonio, I did graduate from St. Mary s School of Law and was active in student leadership during my tenure there. Additionally, I have been active in my local bar association for the past two years and would like to continue helping young attorneys. Please know that I am willing to commit the time and resources to assist the board in all its endeavors this upcoming year. I enjoy being active and I believe my organizational skills would be an asset to SAYLA. Finally, I believe I could bring a unique perspective to the board. In the past three years, I have also worked in the public and private sector gaining civil and criminal defense experience. I graduated cum laude from Sewanee: The University of the South, where I served on the university's Program Board for three years, the last as Board Chair, and volunteered as a mentor for children in the local community. While at the SMU Dedman School of Law, I received the K&L Gates Endowed Scholarship, served on the International Law Review, and was selected as a student peer of the Annette Stewart American Inn of Court, a local group of attorneys formed to foster professional excellence with a focus on ethics and civility. I very much enjoyed serving as co-chair of

10 SMU's Barristers Ball and teaching legal education to students at local elementary schools, as well as my involvement with the Junior Associates Circle of the Dallas Museum of Art and the Dallas Young Lawyers Association. I gained a great deal of practical experience interning with a federal magistrate judge and serving as student attorney and then chief counsel of the SMU Federal Taxpayers Clinic. I also worked at the Communities Foundation of Texas, a hub for donors and nonprofit organizations, where I authored publications on funds and fundraising, spearheaded a reform of employer-related scholarships and launched a new scholarship for paraplegic and quadriplegic students, which I promoted statewide. Now back in my hometown of San Antonio, I am involved with the McNay Art Museum, the Witte Society and LOOP (the Leadership Organization of Professionals). I look forward to becoming a more integral part of the growth of SAYLA, and am thankful for your consideration. Jenna Reblin Bexar County Criminal District Attorney's Office 133 W. Craig #4 San Antonio Texas jennareblin@gmail.com Texas Bar No.: Year Licensed: 2012 Date of Birth: 6/9/1987 SAYLA's membership would benefit from my participation and leadership on the SAYLA Board of Directors because I have the experience, skills, and enthusiasm necessary to serve SAYLA and the community. I have been licensed since November 2012 and I work at the Bexar County Distrist Attorney's Office as a misdemeanor prosecutor in the 436th District Court. I served as President of the Student Bar Association at St. Mary's University School of Law for the school year. Other positions I held in law school include: President of the Longhorn Bar Association, Vice President of the Federalist Society, Research Fellow for the Center for Terrorism Law, and SAYLA law student member for three years. I am currently working on the SAYLA Family Fun Day and Chili Cook off Committee and look forward to helping with more SAYLA events. I believe that it is very important to serve the community as a legal professional. I enjoy organizing, planning, and volunteering for service and fundraiser events. I am reliable and when given a task I can make sure that it is completed efficiently. In law school, I served as secretary for my legal fraternity, Delta Theta Phi, and I served as co-president for the pro-life organization, Advocates for Life. I was also on my law school's Round Table Committee that conversed directly with our dean on behalf of the student body; I was one of four students selected to serve on the Academic Integrity Board. In Houston, I actively participated in HYLA events and Young Alumni events. Although new to San Antonio, I am already engaging regularly with political and community organizations, and I am serving where I can at my local church. I know that I can be an energetic asset to SAYLA based on my leadership experience in the past and my anticipation for growth in the future.
