2 TEAM RYNKEBY an international charity success Team Rynkeby is an international charity project, where it s members cycle to Paris every summer in order to raise money for children with cancer. Team Rynkeby was founded by chance in 2002 when 11 Danish cyclists employed by Rynkeby Food A/S, the juice manufacturer, decided to cycle to Paris to watch the end of the Tour de France. On their return home, they had approximately DKK 45,000 of their travelling money left which they donated to the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation. 1,450 RIDERS FROM SIX DIFFERENT COUNTRIES In recent years Team Rynkeby has gone from being a local charity project to becoming an international charity movement. In 2015 Team Rynkeby will have approximately 1,450 cyclists and 300 assistants divided into 32 local teams from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and the Faroe Islands.

3 TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG! RAISING MONEY FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST CHILDHOOD CANCER Team Rynkeby s main purpose is to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer. We guarantee that 100% of the donations that companies make to Team Rynkeby will go to the charity. We have three different packages; Gold, Silver and Bronze. The amounts you donate offer different degrees of exposure. If you choose the Gold package, your logo will appear on our jerseys. Every member of Team Rynkeby actively tries to raise money and in 2014 alone the teams in Sweden donated as much as SEK 11,1 million to the fight against childhood cancer.

5 THE SWEDISH CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION offers hope to children with cancer In Sweden around one child a day develops some form of cancer. This is approximately 300 children every year. One out of four children do not survive, making childhood cancer the most common cause of death for children aged 1 to 14 in Sweden. Some of the children who do survive cancer live the rest of their lives with serious complications from their treatments. There are some who are not able to have children when they are older, while others have parts of their bodies amputated. Some suffer such serious brain damage that they will never live a normal life. RESEARCHERS DO NOT KNOW WHY CHILDREN DEVELOP CANCER The main challenge in the fight against this disease is that childhood cancer is not the same as cancer in adults. Researchers do not actually know why children develop cancer. This is why there is such a high need for targeted research into childhood cancer. It is important for science to find an answer to the riddle and develop better and milder treatments to make sure that children not only survive, but live a normal life after beating the disease. THE SWEDISH CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION HELPS TO FIND THE ANSWER The Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation s primary objective is to support research into childhood cancer. Approximately 90 percent of all research projects conducted in Sweden are financed by the Foundation. The applications are reviewed by the Foundation s own research council, which includes a number of different specialists in childhood cancer. Money from the Foundation is also used to provide information and direct support to children with cancer and their families. The Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation relies exclusively on donations from private individuals and companies and does not receive any funding from the state, municipalities or county councils. Since it was founded in 1982, the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation has contributed almost SEK 2 billion to research into childhood cancer. In 2015 the money donated from Team Rynkeby will be used to finance sibling supporters and research projects into brain tumours (CNS).
