6 Hybrid Delivery Use Cases for Enterprise or Govt Cloud Bursting Leverage Content Backup 6 The ability to leverage compute and storage resources offered by Public Clouds when the ones offered by Private Clouds are not sufficient The ability to migrate applications and data back and forth between Public and Private Clouds should be one of the primary selection criteria for Enterprise Customer Proprietary content such as geographic maps, or social graphs are usually available from a single public cloud source. For e.g. a private version of Google Maps would be prohibitive to build and maintain Enterprise must be able to leverage content offered by Public Clouds By using a separate infrastructure for primary management and secondary backup functions, it enables strict separation of duty that ensures a high level of data integrity Enterprise hybrid architecture must be flexible enough to accommodate different options, e.g. online transfer, sending disks

7 Hybrid Delivery Use Cases for Enterprise or Govt Disaster Recovery QoS Optimization A proper DR architecture mandates that entire IT infrastructure be replicated in at least two separate locations Expensive to build private cloud solely for DR purposes Enterprise may be able to use public clouds for DR, at least less sensitive apps and data. Hybrid offers a standard Quality of Service that customers can tap into in order to fulfill their requirements A hybrid Enterprise Cloud will be able to give customers a broad range of private/public options for addressing their IT requirements, with a standard QoS levels, offered at the right price 7
